Our mother came into St Joseph's in April 25.
We have nothing but praise for everyone, the staff are very caring.

Our mum is very settled and has made some friends and enjoys the activities that they do.

St. Joseph's has undergone a complete refit over the last few months so everything is brand new. The new downstairs lounge is a very inviting space and the kitchens are state of the art. The upstairs lounge is also lovely.
All the staff are very caring and really look after the residents. There are lots of daily activities to keep everyone happy and involved and some great trips out to local beauty spots, garden centres and trips out on the canal.

My mother is very happy and settled in St. Joseph's and I know she is safe and getting the best possible care.

In the end timing and room availability didn't align for us to move our Mum to St Joseph's but I wanted to write a review in any event as our experience as a prospective family moving a loved one to St Joseph's was so positive. From the first call, we felt all the staff were supporting the whole family at this difficult time. Staff gave their time freely to talk to us and show us around. It was very clear how well they all knew the residents and that there is real strength in the depth of their professional training and experience with people living with dementia. We were touched by the amount of questions asked about Mum - they really wanted to get to know all about her. There was no hard sell or pressure for us to make a decision. We would certainly suggest to her families in our situation that they visit St Joseph's themselves.

Dear Taryn,

My review is still the same as past reviews, which is good as it means St Josephs continues to be excellent in my eyes. The new and ongoing refurbishment has been great with some fantastic added touches, especially in Kingfisher. I first became involved when my mum became a resident. Soon after that I started to volunteer and began to feel part of a wonderful professional and genuinely caring team. I've been a volunteer for just over five years now. Sadly mum passed away after five happy years at St Josephs and I could have stopped volunteering. I wouldn't, however, still be doing it if I didn't enjoy time with the residents and staff valuing all they do.

Dear Kitty, Thank you so much for your continued support and for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to us. We are so pleased that you feel St Joseph's continues to maintain the high standards you've come to expect, and that you've enjoyed the recent...

Massive thumbs up again for St Josephs.
Had my brother there for four years until he passed. He loved it there.
Now a friend for whom I have POA and POA Finance has improved incredibly in the year since she agreed to go to St Josephs, literally a new lease of life for her.

I 100% recommend St Joseph's to anyone needing full-time care. Great caring staff all around.

The home has been looking after my aunt, who has severe dementia, for over 4 years. They are very caring, friendly and professional and accommodating where possible. They seem to have a core of settled staff, which makes a difference.

My mother is a recent resident of St. Josephs and she is very happy with the service the home is providing.
I (her daughter) have found the staff to be most pleasant and cheerful, from your entry into the home and to those serving my mother her refreshments.
The home is clean and well-organised.
It is also a bonus that they provide hairdressing, chiropody and hygienist services to their residents.

All in all, we are very happy all around.

My step-dad has been at St Josephs for 6 years now. The staff do a challenging and tiring job and do it very well. Dad has been well cared for and the staff give 100 per cent. It’s always clean, friendly and welcoming. Problems are addressed if they arise and discussed to find solutions.

My husband has been in St Joseph’s for more than a year now and I have been quite happy with his care. He has Alzheimer’s dementia and can be a bit difficult at times but he has been treated with the utmost care and respect. I am most appreciative of the care and attention he is given. He and all the residents always look very clean and well cared for and I know this is not always easy.

My mother has been in St Josephs since the middle of May. Originally went for 2 weeks respite after hospital discharge, but no full-time care packages at home were available.
Well, what can I say, she asked to stay a third week and then she decided to stay permanently. The difference of being with people has been remarkable, the staff are beyond caring, courteous, and as mother says they don’t miss a trick.

I always said I would never see my mother in a care home but St Josephs goes above and beyond. My mother is so happy there.

My brother has been in St Josephs for just a year and has settled in well. He always looks clean and tidy, and the carers are very kind and thoughtful. We always get a friendly welcome when we visit and are quickly informed of any problems he has healthwise. It is very reassuring to us to know he is safe and well cared for, 24 hours a day.

My aunt has been at St Josephs for five years now and has been very happy. All of the staff are friendly and approachable and have coped brilliantly during the last two years of Covid restrictions and related difficulties. The atmosphere is always welcoming when we visit, the premises and the gardens always well maintained. The activities programme is wide-ranging, and my aunt enjoys the quiz and bingo sessions. As she approaches her 102nd birthday, my aunt is living proof that she is well looked after at St Josephs.

Mum is thoroughly enjoying her time in St Josephs. She has made friends with the staff and other residents. There is also always something going on for her to join in with if she wishes. The garden is delightful, and the staff encourage residents to choose plants and carry out light gardening themselves.
I feel very secure knowing that Mum is being excellently cared for, and I have seen Mum bloom since she first came in two months ago.

A big thank you to all the staff for their kindness and understanding in settling Mum and the continued care and attention they give to Mum and me.
