St Lukes & The Oaks Care Home

from Sean P (Son of Resident) published on 20 October 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father spent his last few days at St Luke's. We looked at lots of homes in the area and chose St Luke's as from the moment we arrived unannounced to the moment we left it just felt right.
The level of care and dignity shown to us and my father was truly outstanding and way above the level anyone
could possibly expect.
Unfortunately, he was only with them for a short time but they made sure that the time he was there was as good as it could possibly be.
I have no hesitation is recommending St. Luke's to anyone.
We visited after he passed away and interrupted Maxine the manager who was talking to a couple of visitors. We gushed about how good the care had been - it turned out the 'visitors' were CQC inspectors! Hopefully it helped with the report.

Hillview Care Home

from Peter W (Son of Resident) published on 17 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother arrived at Hillview in January this year after a difficult period in hospital, unable to walk and in need of significant support. From the moment she was welcomed, the staff showed exceptional compassion, professionalism and dedication to her recovery.
Thanks to their attentive care and
encouragement she has made remarkable progress - she's now walking again and even dancing in some of the activities!
The team's commitment to her physical rehabilitation and wellbeing (mum has Alzheimer's) has been truly inspiring. She's also found real joy in the home's activities, which are thoughtfully planned and inclusive. Whether it's group events, creative sessions or gentle exercise, she's engaged, smiling and thriving in ways we hadn't seen for months.
We're deeply grateful to everyone at Hillview for creating such a positive, nurturing environment. It's not just a place of care - it's a place of hope and renewal.
Reply from Tracy Schrock, Home Manager at Hillview Care Home

Thank you so much for taking the time and for writing Hillview such a positive review. Mum settled so well and we all agree she has been thriving since she has arrived. Mum is a pleasure to care for and has made many friends here since her admission. Thank you once again.

My dad was made extremely welcome from day 1. The staff have been fantastic at helping him settle in and stay happy, feel safe and content. They have also been instrumental in putting me and other family members/friends at ease, and providing regular updates on medical and everyday things. I feel so
much more at ease knowing my dad is so well looked after and liked.

My wife has been at St Anns for approx. 3 months, at first she had trouble settling in but after a review by the nursing staff, she has settled in nicely. All the staff are really friendly, helpful and supportive in actual fact, they can't do enough to ensure my wife's stay is as good as it can be.
I had my problems leaving her at the beginning, but now my guilt has eased.

My sister has been at Dalton Lodge since December 24, and I cannot rate it highly enough. She is very vulnerable and relatively young to have quite complex care needs and moderate dementia. She is independent spirited and being in care is hard for her. She is very well cared for and loves it at Dalton
Lodge, having had some very difficult experiences in previous homes.

My man is find the decline of her husband very difficult and he has been an asking support system working with us to provide the best for a very loved granddad. He is very attentive and prioritised the best interests

Generally my mother is well cared for. The staff are excellent- patient, kind and professional. Communication is good. Staffing levels are too low, particularly at the weekends, and there is a lack of activities.

My Dad moved into Ryeview Manor in April. He was very confused and could hardly walk on arrival; he has changed so much since then, more independent, less anxious and less falls. I am very grateful for everyone at the home who has paid their part in making the move to a care home so stress free for
Dad and me too.
He loves being out in the beautiful gardens and joins in the activities when he chooses to do so. I love visiting him. The atmosphere is so welcoming and caring.

Such lovely staff, the residents always seem happy, my wife's grandmother is certainly very happy.
They organised a very nice 100th party for her that lots of residents attended, which had entertainment that they all enjoyed.
The staff bend over backwards to make them and relatives happy.
Although
expensive, all homes are, it's much more value than these other homes.

Exceptional.
Mum has been living at Hillview for 6 months and she is so happy.
The staff are absolutely fantastic, the food superb and Mum is kept busy with the fantastic events and entertainment they provide. Any worries are delt with immediately with understanding and kindness.
I honestly could
not think of a better care home for Mum and it's so reassuring to know she so very well looked after .

Before coming to St Leonards, my husband was in another care home, which was a disaster. Since coming to St Leonard's, my husband is 100% better. Care staff and activities - espeically getting outside in fresh air. I cannot fault St Leonards in any way!!

The care my mum receives is always excellent.
The chef is also brilliant and my mum enjoys virtually every meal ( and she was a very fussy eater). The only reason I put my only good is that perhaps the menu could be a little more varied, particularly at tea time. There is a lot of soup!!!
I love going
into see my mum - the atmosphere is always warm, welcoming and extremely jolly. I cannot recommend Bury Lodge Beaconsfield enough.

Mum has been in Ryeview Manor since early June. We are very impressed with the care she gets, she has settled in very well. The staff are very helpful and always let me know how mum is doing and are always friendly. Her room is lovely and clean and opens outside to the courtyard, we have sat our there
a few times and it is very peaceful and calm. Mum loves the food and they have a variety of different meals/snacks throughout the day. We visit mum weekly, which is great to be able to do and sometimes also pop in when we're passing, she is usually sat in the lounge watching TV or doing a puzzle or a sudoko. She seems very happy and calm and I would certainly recommend Ryview Manor, it has a warm, cheerful feeling to it and I know mum is now safe and well looked after.
