Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
What an amazing place. My mum has improved beyond belief since entering. She came to the home unable to care for herself, very under weight and generally unwell. The care she has received has been outstanding. Having been there since August she now takes her meds, is eating and putting on weight and
generally loves it . The staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is kind and loving. It feels like home from home. I cannot praise the place enough.

Tremona Care Home

from Pamela S (Friend of Resident) published on 16 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I recently visited Tremona, where my friend has been living, and I was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere and level of care provided. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and clearly dedicated to creating a comfortable environment for the residents.
I also enjoyed a lovely
lunch during my visit, along with a cheeky tipple, which added a nice relaxed touch to the afternoon.
The home itself feels clean, safe, and thoughtfully organised. Common areas are bright and inviting, and residents always seemed engaged, whether chatting with staff, participating in activities, or relaxing in the lounge. My friend spoke highly of the caregivers, especially noting their kindness, patience, and willingness to take time with each person.
The sense of care in the home clearly starts from the top. The manager is exceptionally dedicated and hands-on, setting a positive tone that filters through the entire team. Their presence and commitment really stood out during my visit.

greeted well and chatted to. I feel able to join in with everyone and often take mum out for a walk around town.
The
food is good and the room is fresh and clean .

Excellent, caring, attentive staff. It's like an extended family. Activities are well thought through and everyone enjoys them and participates in all the activities. Day trips are excellent. It's definitely a home from home.

My father was moved to Osbourne Court earlier this year, due to his previous care home being inadequate to his needs. I feel our family was gaslighted by the previous care home, making my father out to be the problem, when in actual fact it was the Home who kept him imprisoned in his room and not prepared
to help him back onto his feet. OC on the other hand gave him a massive welcome, put their metaphorical arms around him and got him back on his feet on his very first day. He has flourished and his mental and physical health has settled. All of the personnel have kindness and care at the heart of their work and my father said only a few days ago - "everyone is lovely here"

I have spent just over two weeks at Chadwick. I found found everything very good. The staff are extremely friendly, kind, caring, professional, considerate and helpful. I am here for a short respite care due to injuries to both legs leading to severe mobility. The standard of care I have recieved has
been exceptional. I would recommend this care home to others.

St Matthews Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am over 90 years of age though fairly mobile. I've been at St Matthew's for about 18 months. The building is modern and airy and has good communal facilities. It is kept spotlessly clean. My room is comfortable with en-suite facilities which I can use without difficulty. Looking outside I see trees,
grass and well-tended flower beds. Our caring multi-national staff are very professional and pay regard to our individual needs, not least our mobility. We socialise with an imaginative range of well led activities both within and outside the home. For example, we had a lovely summer party in the garden, well attended by residents and families. On matters relating to our lives here, we have the opportunity to express our views and choices to management both in residents' meetings and less formally. As will be seen in my star rating, on the matter of food I think we have been less successful even with a new kitchen. It's sometimes not cooked well. I'm happy here. It's my home

My mum has lived at Greenhill for 2 years, and has settled well. At arrival she had a history of being defensive and resistant to personal cares, the staff were patient and kind and this behaviour has settled. There is excellent understanding and training in dementia care. Residents and visitors love
the little tea room in the beautifully maintained gardens. I have witnessed the support and kindness shown with end of life care. Thank you to all at Greenhill for the care you provide.

My Gran was a resident of St Matthews for 18 months.
It was a big change going from living independently to living here, but the staff and other residents all made her feel very welcome. She really liked her own company but chose to take part in some of the many activities organised and always enjoyed
herself.
The home is a calm and welcoming place and as family members we were always made to feel welcome.
I would highly recommend St Matthews to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.

Thank you for all you did for her.

I am a friend of a lady who is in this home. She has Parkinson's and went into the home two years who, firstly as a resident and now due to her health deteriorating, she is now in the Dementia wards. When I visit her weekly, I find her as well as expected. Being confused, she is not really aware of
what is going on. The staff seem pleasant and helpful especially the lady in the from reception desk, she does the beginning of the week, always helpful and happy.

Our Mum has been a member of St Matthew's Community for a year and is very settled. She tells us, "it's lovely here" and "the staff work so hard". Everyone always makes my brother, sister, and I feel very welcome, and we feel reassured to know our Mum is in such good hands.

St Andrews Care Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother moved into the home in January 2025 following a fall resulting in incapacity. She was somewhat redundant at first. Staff have treated her with dignity, care and respect, many staff are excellent, some not so.
The rooms are comfortable and adequate. Activities seem to cater more for the less
able physically and mentally. Food is fair, but it can be difficult / not possible to get suitable alternatives when the main choice is unsuitable.
Reply from Juline Thomas-Dixon, Home Manager at St Andrews Care HomeThank you for sharing your experience regarding your mother's stay at St Andrew's. I'm glad to hear that she is being treated with dignity and respect by most of the staff, as that is so important in a care environment. It's also good to know that the living accommodations are comfortable.

However, I understand your concerns about the activities not fully catering to a broader range of abilities and the challenges with food options. It's crucial for residents to have diverse and enjoyable activities, as well as accessible meal alternatives. We will discuss your feedback as a team, and a member of the activities and catering team will reach out to Mum to discuss the feedback so that suitable action can be taken to enhance the overall experience for her. Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to discuss or if you have any specific suggestions in mind, and we will be more than happy to address them.
Warm regards
Juline

Although my mum has only been at Lakeside for a few weeks I'm already very happy with her care. Everyone has shown kindness to both my mum and to me. Due to her dementia it will take time to settle but already she is settling. Everyone has been helpful from carers, reception staff and the GPS. I'm so
glad we chose Lakeside.
