Very upset with the standard of care mum had in the last months of her life.
Staff are lovely but not trained to cope with either dementia or end of life care.
Management are totally inept, they are saying they will give more training to the staff, personally I think a total management review is required.

Would not put my loved one in this home again.

Mum has been in Lilac since Feb 25 and our experience of staff care is excellent. It is a friendly, caring environment for those living with dementia. We are pleased that eventually a new Activity Lead was appointed this year, and sometimes volunteers come in. Singing sessions in particular are great for mum, with poor sight and hearing. We would still like a weekly programme sent to relatives so that we know what's happening when.

Thank you for all you do.

Many thanks for your review S R. Your feedback and support is very much appreciated. Daniella will ask the Activities Team to email the planner out weekly and also upload it to our social media page.

All I can say is a massive thank you to all St Luke's staff for settling my aunt in. She loves the food especially and every time I visit she tells me how kind everyone is. She enjoys the various activities that are laid on, particularly the exercise class. She is grateful for the services of the onsite hairdresser and chiropodist.

Liaison is very efficient and everyone takes time and is welcoming and helpful any time we need to ask anything.

I am extremely pleased and impressed with all the care that my husband is receiving and feel that this has helped him enormously to settle into his new environment. I, my family and friends all enjoy our visits to my husband and I would add my 2 sons and 4 grandsons enjoy seeing him too.

My father spent his last few days at St Luke's. We looked at lots of homes in the area and chose St Luke's as from the moment we arrived unannounced to the moment we left it just felt right.
The level of care and dignity shown to us and my father was truly outstanding and way above the level anyone could possibly expect.
Unfortunately, he was only with them for a short time but they made sure that the time he was there was as good as it could possibly be.
I have no hesitation is recommending St. Luke's to anyone.

We visited after he passed away and interrupted Maxine the manager who was talking to a couple of visitors. We gushed about how good the care had been - it turned out the 'visitors' were CQC inspectors! Hopefully it helped with the report.

My mum recently had a chest infection, she was promptly seen by the nurse who attends from the local GP practice and prescribed appropriate antibiotics. Prior to her admission whilst living alone, mum would become very anxious if she became chesty , I was reassured that she would be comforted and was in good hands from the very kind staff at the home. The senior carer contacted me , keeping me informed of mum's treatment & progress. Mum has been very happy at St Luke's since her admission in Jan 2024. She feels safe , enjoys most meals , likes to be sociable and joins in with all activities. I would like a weekly list of activities as mum has poor memory and would help during our weekly Zoom video calls as I live a distance away. Maybe they could be posted on the Facebook page?

I find all the staff friendly helpful and meet the needs of my brother.

They always contact me with issues that effect my brothers wellbeing. For example if he has a fall irrespective of whether he has hurt himself they will contact me.

The staff at St Luke's are all very helpful and efficient. All issues and problems are addressed and we are kept informed at all times. Each and every one of the staff are super friendly with a kind word to say about our mother. I couldn't be happier with the help and support she is receiving at this difficult time in her life. Thank you St Luke's

St Lukes Care Home is on one level so my mother wouldn't have to deal with stairs or lifts, which was important to me. It is spacious, with plenty of natural daylight, decorated and furnished stylishly, is very clean, and kept to a high standard. The home is kept warm which my mum loves.
Even though my mum has dementia, she has made friends which is wonderful. My mum who is 96 years old, surprisingly will join in with the various activities they have.
She has a lovely bedroom which is newly decorated and has an ensuite. This is useful as my mum tends to get up quite a few times in the night to go to the loo!

I cannot praise the wonderful staff who are so patient, and show much kindness and love to my mum. Also, the hairdresser who cuts my mum's hair makes her look 10 years younger! She along with all the other staff makes my mum and other residents feel special, which is heartwarming. I could say lots more positive comments about St Lukes but I am limited to how many characters I can type!

The home has been nothing but excellent in every way. The care is top notch along with the food. The rooms are decorated for new residents and they allow you to personalise their rooms so your loved ones feel more at home. As soon as you walk in it feels comfortable and calm.

My husband is a new resident of The Oaks, being in the end stage of Alzheimer's. I visit daily and see only smiling staff faces. He is clean and well-fed when he wants to be. He is washed and when he allows, a shower is given.
The food is thoughtfully prepared and mixed for people who cannot chew. I love the daily menu setup. I always want to see what is the next meal going to be. Plenty of snacks are available.

Since he went in there I have started to relax and can do a bit more myself knowing he is very well cared for.

My mother went to St Luke's for respite in November 2024, after a slight progression of her dementia.

My mother has truly flourished since moving into St Luke's. From the moment she stepped through the doors, she was greeted with warmth, compassion, and professionalism. The staff are incredibly skilled, but they also genuinely care about the residents' well-being, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Since living here, my mother's health, happiness, and overall quality of life have improved immensely. The nutritious meals, engaging activities, and personalised care plans have all contributed to her thriving in ways we hadn't seen in years. She has formed wonderful friendships, and the community atmosphere brings her so much joy. I'm impressed by the team's dedication and attentiveness, everyday needs are met, and going above and beyond to create a loving, safe environment. Knowing my mother is in such good hands brings peace of mind. I couldn't recommend St Luke's more highly.

My mum has been at this care home for the last year & the care home is clean & the carers are pleasant but the only thing that lets it down is communication when an issue happens I don't seem to get notified until it's been brought to my attention by another source which is very frustrating & when an investigation is ongoing we don't get updates from the department.

Our mother has been at St Lukes within The Oaks Care Home facility since July 2022 and since day one, the care she has received has been exemplary. Mum has advanced dementia and moved from another care home where she had been for a number of years and we were worried about how she would adapt to new surroundings and specifically with new carers. The move went well from day one and with the help of the carers and all staff, she settled in very quickly with no issues. Since that day we have had no concerns on the level of care she receives and is always clean and well-presented when we visit. This can only be down to the standards applied within the care home and the staff employed. There are regular reviews of the care plan in place for Mum and we are also able to raise any concerns/questions if necessary at any time.
