Reviews

9.1 St Lukes has a Review Score of 9.1 (9.054)

The Review Score of 9.1 (maximum of 10) for St Lukes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for St Lukes in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.733 for St Lukes is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.733

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.321 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Lukes is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 15.6 positive Reviews (78 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 5 Reviews ÷ 15.6 Target = 0.321

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My Mother moved in here in March this year. She has dementia and is slowly declining. I am delighted that we have been so fortunate to find a residence where the care she receives is excellent. The staff all go the extra mile to help her. They supply care with kindness and stimulation that is really needed. The standard is very high and the staff give excellent support to families as well as residents. When I visited today I was delighted to find that a special bed had arrived to increase my mum's comfort. They really do think of everything. This disease is a difficult thing for all families but knowing loved ones have such good care makes the world of difference.

Over the last 6 months, the care for my Mother-in-Law has increased due to on-going health issues.

The staff are always aware if there is a change in Mum's health that requires support from a heath support team. It is very reassuring that there is 24/7 monitoring of Mum's health and wellbeing.

All the staff constantly treat Mum with patience and empathy. At all times she is shown respect and care to ensure that she has the dignity and care that she deserves.

As well as Mum receiving support from the staff all our family are too.

My mother was a resident for nearly 18 months and passed away in the middle of July. The care she received was excellent and although she was of limited mobility, the staff were always there to encourage her in all activities. Our family felt that St Luke's offered the best place for mum. The home is light, bright and airy and has lovely surroundings which are well maintained. When Mum became ill St Lukes's were able to provide end of life care for her so that she did not have to go into hospital, and for the family, this was such a blessing.
We are indebted to all the staff for this.

My mum has been a resident at St Lukes for the past 3 years. During this time she has received very good care. The staff are dedicated, professional and caring. They work as a team which maintains good standards and that is from management to domestic staff. Without that teamwork and dedication the home would not run efficiently. Staff are not only friendly and caring to the residents, but to family and friends visiting.
There are no restrictions to visiting times. Any concerns are dealt with immediately or as soon as possible. Staff and management listen to concerns and put in place any measures that are needed or raised. The home has a very high standard of cleanliness, safety and security.

My mother has been at St Lukes for the past two and a half years, in all this time she has been looked after with the utmost respect and professional attention. The staff are always ready to give information and help, I look upon the staff with friendship, just like my own home.

I visit my Great Aunt who is a resident at St Lukes on a regular basis. The home and staff are always welcoming and the decor is of a very high standard. My Great Aunt is always saying how caring and friendly the staff are and they have even put her to work as the homes post lady, which at nearly 90 she thinks is marvellous. In between her shifts as post lady she enjoys all activities and especially a lunchtime drink in the bar.

We could not be more satisfied with the treatment my sister-in-law has been receiving. We no longer worry about her as she is so well looked after. She is always clean, well dressed and appears quite content as her condition gradually deteriorates.

My mum went to St Lukes in January 2016. I think the care at St Lukes is very good. The activity lady is amazing, she really works hard to keep everyone entertained. The food is good, and good clean surroundings. From experience, if you do have a problem it is swiftly dealt with. I would recommend St Lukes.

A lovely safe and caring home, the staff are always friendly, approachable and willing to help in every way. Most importantly my mother has settled well thanks to the caring attitude of the staff that go the extra mile to look after the residents, both physically and psychologically. Visitors are always welcome with lots of places indoors and out to sit and walk with your relative. Plenty of activities for their residents who are able/willing to participate nobody is obliged to take part.
