I am a friend of a lady who is in this home. She has Parkinson's and went into the home two years who, firstly as a resident and now due to her health deteriorating, she is now in the Dementia wards. When I visit her weekly, I find her as well as expected. Being confused, she is not really aware of
what is going on. The staff seem pleasant and helpful especially the lady in the from reception desk, she does the beginning of the week, always helpful and happy.

My mother moved into the home in January 2025 following a fall resulting in incapacity. She was somewhat redundant at first. Staff have treated her with dignity, care and respect, many staff are excellent, some not so.
The rooms are comfortable and adequate. Activities seem to cater more for the less
able physically and mentally. Food is fair, but it can be difficult / not possible to get suitable alternatives when the main choice is unsuitable.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother arrived at Hillview in January this year after a difficult period in hospital, unable to walk and in need of significant support. From the moment she was welcomed, the staff showed exceptional compassion, professionalism and dedication to her recovery.
Thanks to their attentive care and
encouragement she has made remarkable progress - she's now walking again and even dancing in some of the activities!
The team's commitment to her physical rehabilitation and wellbeing (mum has Alzheimer's) has been truly inspiring. She's also found real joy in the home's activities, which are thoughtfully planned and inclusive. Whether it's group events, creative sessions or gentle exercise, she's engaged, smiling and thriving in ways we hadn't seen for months.
We're deeply grateful to everyone at Hillview for creating such a positive, nurturing environment. It's not just a place of care - it's a place of hope and renewal.

From Spring of 2025 it was clear that mum (94) could no longer cope at home. I began to look at care homes and found St Laura's on a friends recommendation. His mother has been a resident for 3 years. I visited and was very impressed with the manager and staff. After a stay in hospital after yet another
fall mum was transferred directly to St Laura's. It's only been a few weeks but I've been very impressed. All the staff seem very caring and go out of their ay to treat the residents as individuals. Mum has been involved in lots of activities photos of which often appear on the homes social media page. All in all I'm delighted with how the first few weeks have gone.

My mum has been a resident at St Laura's for 18 months. She has dementia and spent the first year on the top floor before her dementia deteriorated and was moved to more specialist care on the middle floor. The staff at St Laura's are so caring, fun and respectful of my mum's wishes. Her LPA is adhered
to and they communicate with me really well. Mum is safe, and well cared for. St Laura's staff create a kind and friendly atmosphere and do activities with mum that are appropriate to her needs. Eme the manager is very approachable and is a great advocate for mum and staff. I'm so glad mum is living here. Although it is sad to see my mum living with advanced dementia, St Laura's is the best place for mum to be.

St Laura's Care Home provides an exceptional standard of care in a truly welcoming environment. The home is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable rooms that feel warm and inviting. Residents enjoy a wide range of daily activities, helping them stay active, engaged, and socially
connected. The food is excellent, with plenty of choice and careful attention to special dietary requests, ensuring everyone's needs are met.
What really sets St Laura's apart is the dedication of the staff. They are consistently friendly, kind, and genuinely caring, creating a safe, home-from-home atmosphere where respect for older people is at the heart of everything. Families can feel reassured that their loved ones are not only well cared for but also treated with dignity and compassion.

Mum moved to Ashlyns at the start of 2025 initially for respite care and soon became permanent. This was an uncertain time for us but all the staff were friendly, reassuring and welcoming. Mum settled in quickly and her health improved at the same time. Having been somewhat isolated at home, Mum now
engages in the many and varied activities provided and has made friends with other residents. She regularly comments on how lovely and helpful the staff are and this experience is shared by myself and my wife whenever we visit. She enjoys the food too! Both of my parents needed extra support over the last few years and Ashlyns was the top of my list for where to place them. It lived up to all my expectations. The staff are all amazing.. there is always a smile and lots of support, most importantly when things are hard. The care given is second to
none and especially as my parents were deteriorating, the dignity and dedication that was provided I will never forget. It's a lovely environment too, very clean and light with lovely grounds where you can take a walk. And most importantly for those with mobility issues all on one level. I cannot recommend Ashlyns enough. A lot of effort is made with the food, being home cooked wherever possible and mum and dad enjoyed their meals. And there is an extensive biscuit tray!! Having to place your parents in a care home is hard enough but when you have the immense support of a lovely team of people it makes it so much easier to bare. Thank you to the managers and the all the team.

St Lauras Care Home

The staff at St Lauras have been very welcoming for my mums respite stay. Indeed they have gone out of their way to make her feel comfortable. and settled. The activities provided on a daily basis are varied and to a high standard. There are many nice personal touches. For example, they helped my mum
celebrate her birthday during her stay by baking a cake and giving her some flowers. Visits to the local high street for some light shopping and coffee have also been arranged - which provides a change of scene and fresh stimulation.
The hygiene and cleanliness standards are very high at St Lauras. A special mention must go to members of staff and of course none of the above would be possible without the leadership from St Lauras Manager.

From the first moment I contacted St .Laura's, my family and I have received first class personal service and communication from the Manager. The manager has gone over and above to ensure the placement of this resident and their approach to his care has been entirely based around his particular needs,
personality, likes and dislikes. Staff are available to discuss any issues and his placement there is going very well. Understanding the need for different approaches to different individuals is first and foremost.

Osbourne Court Care Home

Mum moved into Osbourne Court in September of 2024 so has been there just under a year.
Mum is a very independent person and taking the step to move into a care facility was not easy
for her. From day one Mum and our family received a warm, caring and friendly welcome from all of the staff
at
Osbourne Court. Mum has settled in well and has now made new friends with other
residents, she often says how well she is looked after and how happy she is there. Mum's
mental and physical health has improved dramatically since she started living at Osbourne
Court. We are always notified of anything going on with Mum and we always receive an
answer to any questions or concerns we have about Mum. The Osbourne Court team is a
happy one that works well together and it is reflected in the care they give to their residents.
The peace of mind we have knowing that Mum is in such good hands is priceless.
