The team at Newgrange are all working together to create a happy and caring environment. They aim to build a home which they are proud of, and where they would choose to place their own relatives.

Residents' wellbeing is at the centre of all of decision making. Newgrange are a small care home, with only 37 bedrooms, which means their understanding of residents' needs and wishes is entirely personalised.

They can support individual's living with:

Dementia • Parkinson's Disease • Diabetes • Respite Care • End of Life

Newgrange have a team of 46 brilliant staff & do not have the need to call on agency. There are conversations, laughter and joy amongst residents and carers, and the long-standing team show genuine, nurturing care.

All the bedrooms have high quality furniture and soft furnishings with en-suite wet rooms. There is also a lounge, dining area, conservatory, cinema room & two quiet rooms.

The home had input for the design of the gardens from the Lottery Fund and the Paradise Wildlife Park, making it possible to have a diverse & stimulating outdoor environment.

There are extensive well being and social activities which help to stimulate and entertain, as well as monthly bus trips for the residents to garden centres and pub lunches.

Residents can enjoy fresh cooked wholesome food by chefs with choices at every meal.

Personalised care plans are followed that put the resident first.

The home also benefits from visits from a Chiropodist, Hairdresser & Masseur.

Newgrange are committed to ensuring they are leaders in dementia care. They have added many features such as signage and improved lighting for the well-being of residents living with dementia.

Mum has been a resident of Newgrange since July 2019 and the level of care, compassion, love has not changed from day one. All staff from the Managers to the cleaners are so wonderful and are not only there for Mum but for myself as well. Mum did not have much mobility but was able to join in with
all the activities - sadly she took to bed in 2021 with dementia and there she has remained. The level of care Mum needs has obviously increased and all staff are so considerate of her dignity and always come into her room with a smile and stay for a chat even though Mum is no longer aware, no conversation, or recognises myself. Her personal hygiene is second to none and she always looks clean and fresh. Mum has to be risk fed due to swallowing/choking issues and whichever carer feeds her, takes so much time and care and are so tender with her. I am so grateful to all staff for the last 6 years of care to Mum - they are our earth angels and Mum is in very good kind hands - Thank you x

As soon as we walked in we felt a warm friendly atmosphere. I spoke to family members of other residents who all said how happy they were with their loved ones care & their loved ones were happy at Newgrange.
My mum has been here since June 2025 & she is happier & brighter than when she was at home.
She has Alzheimer's & although she isn't always sure of where she is, she constantly asks me if she can stay another night. Mum joins in with a range of activities & is constantly monitored & checked up on, I receive updates when needed.
I love that we can visit whenever we like & also take mum out if she needs an appt or change of scenery.
The staff are friendly, attentive & encouraging, my mum has her dignity, makes her own choices & is always well presented. I wouldn't want anyone else looking after my mum.

Mum was only here a couple of months before she sadly passed but the care she received was amazing. The staff were all so ultra friendly, caring, compassionate and sensitive. It was like they knew Mum for years and always treated her with the utmost respect. They also enquired after our wellbeing
and made sure we were well looked after during Mum's last day as they were so kind and thoughtful. Thank you to everyone at Newgrange.

The hardest thing I've ever had to deal with ever. I have been kindly and patiently supported. The staff here are truly wonderful. I know i have the best care for my treasured husband. Standards are high...pride in work in caring for residents. Every staff member contributes with care and compassion.

My mother-in-law (103 years old) has been at Newgrange Care Home for almost 4 years. She is very happy there and is cared for excellently. Her room is lovely, nice and airy and clean. She always looks immaculate, has a shower every day, and dressed nicely. All the carers go above and beyond their duty.
The home always looks lovely and clean.
Her meals are amazing, five stars to the kitchen staff. Entertainment is brilliant.
All the carer's are excellent, my wife and I are very happy with everything at Newgrange. Happy mother, happy us!

New Grange is a lovely well run care home.
Spotlessly clean and both the building and garden is very well maintained.
The staff are caring, considerate and very understanding.
Yesterday I attended the Summer Party, organised by the staff. There was live music, dancing, decorations, plenty of
food and drink.
All the families were invited to attend too.
All the residents were included in the fun!
The attention to detail was so lovely. It made for a very special afternoon.
The staff are friendly and I feel they know my Dad and understand his behaviours and needs.

My Dad came to Newgrange in December 2024 and he loves being here he call it home. He could not be more cared for and looked after. Every member of staff from the managers to the cleaners they are truly amazing two members of staff are so kind knowing my dad is cared for and looked after and happy is
a blessing even when he had a few weeks in hospital they called me to see how he was and when he returned had the loveliest welcome from all the staff.

Mum has been with Newgrange since December 2023 and has improved significantly as the months have gone by.well looked after by all staff,staff always willing to help if they can. The only thing i would like to see would be more toilets on the ground floor.

Our dear mum resided at Newgrange for just 6.5 weeks before she sadly passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her care at Newgrange exceeded all expectations. The love and care shown to her were exemplary and nothing was too much trouble. This support and care was shown to the family too and
was much appreciated particularly as Mum started to fail. The home is beautifully appointed, bright and clean and very homely. The bedrooms are lovely with matching furniture and en suite bathrooms. Every single person we met, from managers, care staff, cooks and cleaners was so polite and friendly and had genuine care and concern for Mum and the family. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.

The level of care and compassion is of the highest level and can not be faulted, nothing is too much trouble. Visiting family members are treated with the same level of care and thoughtfulness too. The premises are secure and immaculately clean. The staff are so polite and at the top of their chosen
profession.
I could not ask for a better place for my Nan to be cared for and know that the family have chosen the right place for Nan and that is so comforting and dispels any worries when you leave when time to go home.

I have been happy living here. I have been here just over a year and I feel I have been lucky. I am happy because it is free going, I please myself and have my own routine. The staff are pleasant and easy to get along with. They really care for me.

The care provided by Newgrange team is excellent. Mother has settled in very well and has responded to the caring and dedicated nurses and support team, who have been attentive to all her individual needs, even her food likes and dislikes. She particularly loves music and it has been lovely to see her

Myself and my sister chose this care home for our father after an extension search nearly two years ago. There is no stone unturned for any resident, all staff are always kind, helpful and caring. Each resident has immaculately washed and ironed clothes every day, rooms cleaned daily, food is catered
for everyone’s needs and fab entertainment. Simply the best.

My father has been a resident at this exceptional care home for 18 months now. I am so pleased that we found the perfect home for his needs.
All staff and management are dedicated and passionate about providing personalised care to each of their residents.
It is a small home where the carers get to
know each resident’s individual needs and can cater for them accordingly.
This home is immaculately clean, the food is nutritious and varied and Dad always looks well dressed and happy. There are various activities provided each day.
I cannot praise highly enough each and every one of the friendly, caring and understanding staff at Newgrange. I am so grateful for all they do for Dad every day.

We have always found the care of our Father very good. The home is always clean. Our father's clothes are clean daily. His dietary needs are met. His hair and nails and skin are all well looked after. He is involved in lots of activities and enjoys the entertainment provided. The staff always know
how he is and any concerns will communicate them to me and my sister. I have and will recommend this home to anyone.

The care home provides excellent care for my mum and I can’t thank them enough for what they do, always helpful with enquires and I can see a lot of care and effort goes into how my mum is cared for, I would recommend them as my mum has now been cared for, for over 2 years and even through Covid, the

Alison

Alison Wood

Job Title: Manager Joined: 1984

Alison helped set up Old Grange in 1984 and assisted in the establishment of Newgrange in 2002. Alison is passionate about creating the best possible environment for older people and enabling them to live their lives as normally as possible.


As registered manager she has overall responsibility for the running of the home and manages the care team to make sure they give their best at all times.

Lynda

Lynda Beckett

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 1988

Lynda has worked at Newgrange and its predecessor for 20 years. Lynda is the key Duty Manager in respect of care and ensures a full and active agenda. She praises and encourages the homely atmosphere and the closeness of staff and residents which creates a really happy relaxed environment. Lynda also looks after staff rotas.

Angela Luciano

Job Title: Team Leader Joined: 2018

Angela is a native Italian speaker, so is able to converse well with our Italian residents. She has been an integral part of our team for the past 5 years. She is an outstanding carer and always puts the interests of the resident first.
