The team at Newgrange are all working together to create a happy and caring environment. They aim to build a home which they are proud of, and where they would choose to place their own relatives.

Residents' wellbeing is at the centre of all of decision making. Newgrange are a small care home, with only 37 bedrooms, which means their understanding of residents' needs and wishes is entirely personalised.

They can support individual's living with:

Newgrange have a team of 46 brilliant staff & do not have the need to call on agency. There are conversations, laughter and joy amongst residents and carers, and the long-standing team show genuine, nurturing care.

All the bedrooms have high quality furniture and soft furnishings with en-suite wet rooms. There is also a lounge, dining area, conservatory, cinema room & two quiet rooms.

The home had input for the design of the gardens from the Lottery Fund and the Paradise Wildlife Park, making it possible to have a diverse & stimulating outdoor environment.

There are extensive well being and social activities which help to stimulate and entertain, as well as monthly bus trips for the residents to garden centres and pub lunches.

Residents can enjoy fresh cooked wholesome food by chefs with choices at every meal.

Personalised care plans are followed that put the resident first.

The home also benefits from visits from a Chiropodist, Hairdresser & Masseur.

Newgrange are committed to ensuring they are leaders in dementia care. They have added many features such as signage and improved lighting for the well-being of residents living with dementia.

The care provided by Newgrange team is excellent. Mother has settled in very well and has responded to the caring and dedicated nurses and support team, who have been attentive to all her individual needs, even her food likes and dislikes. She particularly loves music and it has been lovely to see her
engaging in musical entertainment provided there. I feel a safe environment is prioritised at all times at Newgrange. High standards of cleanliness are also evident throughout.

Myself and my sister chose this care home for our father after an extension search nearly two years ago. There is no stone unturned for any resident, all staff are always kind, helpful and caring. Each resident has immaculately washed and ironed clothes every day, rooms cleaned daily, food is catered
for everyone’s needs and fab entertainment. Simply the best.

My father has been a resident at this exceptional care home for 18 months now. I am so pleased that we found the perfect home for his needs.
All staff and management are dedicated and passionate about providing personalised care to each of their residents.
It is a small home where the carers get to
know each resident’s individual needs and can cater for them accordingly.
This home is immaculately clean, the food is nutritious and varied and Dad always looks well dressed and happy. There are various activities provided each day.
I cannot praise highly enough each and every one of the friendly, caring and understanding staff at Newgrange. I am so grateful for all they do for Dad every day.

We have always found the care of our Father very good. The home is always clean. Our father's clothes are clean daily. His dietary needs are met. His hair and nails and skin are all well looked after. He is involved in lots of activities and enjoys the entertainment provided. The staff always know
how he is and any concerns will communicate them to me and my sister. I have and will recommend this home to anyone.

My dad has been in the care home since 2019 I visited a lot of care homes but as soon as I walked into this one I knew it was the one for my dad. Everything was new then and clean and has all the latest equipment and up to date. All the staff are lovely and take really good care of him and my dad says
the same. He also really enjoys the activities they put on there such as quizzes, indoor bowling and also the singers that come in. The staff always encourage my dad to join in and he always gets up to have a little dance.

We are really pleased and happy with the care Mum received and has received since she has been in New Grange. Before Covid hit, we had regular access to all areas of the home and could not have been more pleased with everything. Mum had been quite poorly recently and the care given to her by the staff

My mother, who is now 85, has been at Newgrange since March 2019, she is blind and deaf so she had to go into care. We were so lucky when we were asked if we would like to view this home, and a bonus was everything was new. The rooms have everything a resident needs. My mum loves singing so, although
some activities she can't do they always try to include her, she calls out the bingo numbers and loves singing on the microphone. She was asked the other day if she was happy and she replied yes the staff are so helpful. The food is excellent always fresh homemade and they take note of what she likes and doesn't like. I find the home always clean and the staff can't do enough for the resident's families.

I was really upset at having to put my mother into a care home for respite, and after looking at quite a few, we decided on Newgrange because of the amazing facilities and the kindness of all the staff (especially the manager). Despite the current COVID-19 situation, the atmosphere was still brilliant.
My mum has now been at Newgrange for nearly a month and she absolutely loves it - she looks so well cared for and years younger. Both me and my sister have been delighted with our mum's care, and she’s now staying at Newgrange after her respite is over permanently. I can’t thank the staff enough, for both the wonderful support they’ve given my family and for the care of my mum.

My mum stayed at Newgrange for two weeks of respite care after an operation in February. Both she and I were delighted with the care she received. The home is modern, clean, spacious and bright. All of the staff were so friendly, caring and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Their attention
to the individual needs and safety of each resident was clear to see and very reassuring. The food was excellent, I know first hand because I also joined the residents for lunch one day. On the admin side, I found all the managers, owner and staff very efficient and easy to liaise with, even when we had some last-minute changes to plans. Mum was very reluctant to go into care but she soon changed her mind after being there a couple of days. She made lots of friends and has asked to go back there if there is ever a need in the future. Would highly recommend Newgrange. Many thanks.

In February 2019 after a two-year struggle with Dementia, our Mother became progressively worse and needed more care.
We looked at four care homes before we chose Newgrange, it really stood out as the place we wanted for our Mother. Our first impressions were of a clean, fresh, modern and purpose-built
care home, with welcoming and kind staff. We are so grateful for the excellent care that Mum received during her time there. Mum was treated with respect, consideration and above all kindness by everyone there who made her feel welcome and safe and part of a family.
Unfortunately, they never saw Mum at her best, but they worked to bring out the best in her. Our Mother lived at Newgrange until her death in November 2019, the end of life care she received was expert, considerate and dignified.
Our family would have no hesitation in recommending Newgrange Care Home and we are truly appreciative of the care and kindness our Mother was shown. Thank you.

Newgrange Care Home has surpassed all my expectations. All the staff are helpful and friendly and treat the residents with compassion, understanding and respect and go out of their way to make visitors feel welcome. The facilities and site are of the highest standard and are kept immaculately clean
and tidy and the activities available keep residents stimulated along with regular entertainment for everyone to attend eg. BBQs/singers and musicians. After visiting Mum, I leave Newgrange feeling confident that she is receiving the very best care and would recommend them to anyone.

Newgrange is an immaculate site with staff who obviously love their jobs and are dedicated to their residents. Staff, residents and visitors alike are always smiling and laughing which is what really makes this place a home.
They have an outstanding activities team who are passionate about encouraging
stimulation in their residents. They are also looking into expanding their activities range and improving their garden facilities, which I know many of the residents are excited about!

My mum went into Newgrange in January 2019. From the first day, she was well looked after, cared for and loved. All staff are friendly and approachable, kind and giving, nothing is too much trouble for them. This approach is extended to us as a family. Newgrange is an excellent residential care home
and I would recommend it to anybody.

Alison

Alison Wood

Job Title: Manager Joined: 1984

Alison helped set up Old Grange in 1984 and assisted in the establishment of Newgrange in 2002. Alison is passionate about creating the best possible environment for older people and enabling them to live their lives as normally as possible.


As registered manager she has overall responsibility for the running of the home and manages the care team to make sure they give their best at all times.

Lynda

Lynda Beckett

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 1988

Lynda has worked at Newgrange and its predecessor for 20 years. Lynda is the key Duty Manager in respect of care and ensures a full and active agenda. She praises and encourages the homely atmosphere and the closeness of staff and residents which creates a really happy relaxed environment. Lynda also looks after staff rotas.

Angela Luciano

Job Title: Team Leader Joined: 2018

Angela is a native Italian speaker, so is able to converse well with our Italian residents. She has been an integral part of our team for the past 5 years. She is an outstanding carer and always puts the interests of the resident first.
