The team at Newgrange are all working together to create a happy and caring environment. They aim to build a home which they are proud of, and where they would choose to place their own relatives.

Residents' wellbeing is at the centre of all of decision making. Newgrange are a small care home, with only 37 bedrooms, which means their understanding of residents' needs and wishes is entirely personalised.

They can support individual's living with:

Newgrange have a team of 46 brilliant staff & do not have the need to call on agency. There are conversations, laughter and joy amongst residents and carers, and the long-standing team show genuine, nurturing care.

All the bedrooms have high quality furniture and soft furnishings with en-suite wet rooms. There is also a lounge, dining area, conservatory, cinema room & two quiet rooms.

The home had input for the design of the gardens from the Lottery Fund and the Paradise Wildlife Park, making it possible to have a diverse & stimulating outdoor environment.

There are extensive well being and social activities which help to stimulate and entertain, as well as monthly bus trips for the residents to garden centres and pub lunches.

Residents can enjoy fresh cooked wholesome food by chefs with choices at every meal.

Personalised care plans are followed that put the resident first.

The home also benefits from visits from a Chiropodist, Hairdresser & Masseur.

Newgrange are committed to ensuring they are leaders in dementia care. They have added many features such as signage and improved lighting for the well-being of residents living with dementia.

My family and I are extremely grateful to Newgrange and it's management and staff for the recent respite care of my elderly and poorly Mother. Newgrange was able to offer a quality service at short notice and did so with sensitivity and care and could not have been more accommodating to my Mother's
needs. The facilities and staff were excellent and we would not hesitate to use Newgrange again.

My mother-in-law was one of the first residents since the Newgrange refurbishment. She was resident from Nov 2018. We always found the staff very helpful and friendly. The house itself was new and extremely well looked after. All clean and tidy. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law died after a short illness
but the staff, together with the local district nurses, and the community palliative care nurses made her last days very comfortable. We cannot praise them enough. Many thanks to you all.

I would highly recommend the Newgrange Care Home. I found it so warm and welcoming when I first came to look at it when trying to find the right care home for my aunt. From the moment I met the care home management team and the care team, I knew this would be the new home for my aunt. I had looked at
many other care homes but none of them gave me this warm and friendly feeling straight away. From the moment my aunt was accepted here the staff were so kind, warm and friendly to not only my aunt but to all the residents alike. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Sadly my aunt passed away this week and the staff were so kind and compassionate to me and treated my aunt with such respect and dignity I could not have asked for more. The care team at Newgrange are exceptional. If you are worried as I was, at finding the right place for your loved one, then look no further than the Newgrange Care Home. Not only your loved one, but you will become part of a lovely warm friendly family.

A fabulous care home and beautifully decorated. The staff are warm and welcoming and were nurturing with my grandmother. She was happy in her new environment. I would highly recommend this home to any family that needs to put a loved one into a care home.

When I could no longer help my Mum, she was cared for at Newgrange. The home itself is modern, extremely clean and well looked after. Residents are encouraged to take part in activities and there are always staff on hand to help. All the staff were very professional and showed such kindness, respect
and dignity towards my Mum, both during her time there and when she passed away. I would recommend Newgrange to anyone who is searching for care for a loved one. I will never forget them or be able to thank them enough.

Alison

Alison Wood

Job Title: Manager Joined: 1984

Alison helped set up Old Grange in 1984 and assisted in the establishment of Newgrange in 2002. Alison is passionate about creating the best possible environment for older people and enabling them to live their lives as normally as possible.


As registered manager she has overall responsibility for the running of the home and manages the care team to make sure they give their best at all times.

Lynda

Lynda Beckett

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 1988

Lynda has worked at Newgrange and its predecessor for 20 years. Lynda is the key Duty Manager in respect of care and ensures a full and active agenda. She praises and encourages the homely atmosphere and the closeness of staff and residents which creates a really happy relaxed environment. Lynda also looks after staff rotas.

Angela Luciano

Angela is a native Italian speaker, so is able to converse well with our Italian residents. She has been an integral part of our team for the past 5 years. She is an outstanding carer and always puts the interests of the resident first.
