Beulah Lodge Rest Home provides the best of care in a professional yet friendly and happy environment. Residents become part of a family where individual needs are catered for and nothing is too much trouble. Every effort is made to make life there as comfortable as possible and residents' well being
is paramount. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support given to my father and ourselves by all the staff. He was treated with the greatest of respect and kindness for which we are eternally grateful.

Very delighted with the care my mother receives. She has been at Beulah for over a year. It's a very caring, homely, happy place.
The staff do everything they can to make the residents happy and settled. They give great support to relatives of the residents too.

My mother has been living at Beulah Lodge for the last three and a half years. She is registered blind and is suffering from some dementia and reduced mobility so she needs help with all day to day living.

We chose Beulah Lodge because, on the first visit, we instantly felt a homeliness there and,

due to the small number of residents, everyone soon gets to know one another.

The staff take very good care of the residents, showing respect and patience. They are very approachable and any suggestions listened to and, where possible, acted on.

Beulah Lodge has been the ideal residential home for my mother for the last four years, providing her with all the care and attention she has required. It is a friendly caring home thanks to the managers and staff, always ready to listen and provide advice and a smile when needed. Beulah Lodge has a
family feel alongside a healthy and safe environment and is well cared for by it’s housekeeper, maintenance team, and excellent chef. Most importantly the staff are well trained and look after the needs of the residents to a high standard.

Beulah Lodge is a very caring home who go out of their way to help the residents. They try to accommodate the wishes of residents and our cousin has always said that they are caring and kind. She also says that the food is very good. When we have needed help with hospital appointments the home have
been extremely good and have gone out of their way to keep us informed about any medical issues that our relative has.

I would certainly recommend this home.

Very kind, caring staff who have enabled my mother to feel very much at home.
The building is kept in good decorative order throughout and has a very "homely" atmosphere.
There are several activities offered during the week as well as special outings organized when possible.

My mother moved to Beulah Lodge after an unhappy stay at another local residential home. I was very impressed when I first called into Beulah Lodge to enquire about vacancies. I was greeted with warmth and a positive friendly attitude. I had already been to see a number of alternatives in the area
- and there was no contest! We arranged a time to take my mother in to have a look around. Despite the fact that, at the time, she was in a scared and vulnerable state, she was keen to move there and did so within just a few days. Whilst she took the only (quite small) room that was free at the time, it was with the promise that she could move to a bigger one at the first opportunity. However, she settled (quite quickly in the circumstances) and remains happily in her cosy room.

It is a very difficult transition for anyone to make - the move from independence to a small community - but she has been given great support there - and after just a few months was settled and positive.

My mum is very happy at Beulah Lodge. The care she receives is excellent. All the staff appear genuinely committed to helping create a welcoming, safe, friendly, respectful and fun community. Mum has made good friends and loves the great food. I live overseas so it is extremely important to me that
the residence we chose be the most suitable possible. I visited and considered eight seniors' care homes in the Tunbridge Wells area and reviewed the CQC reports. Beulah Lodge was my top pick and I am pleased that when it became apparent that mum would benefit from more company and care, a room was available. We speak every day and she tells me she couldn't be anywhere better. I agree!

My mother has been a resident for over 13 years and is now aged 104. Care has improved greatly over this time. The staff do their very best in sometimes difficult situations. Excellent care and consideration. If I have any questions these are dealt with as soon as possible. Concerns mainly over KCC
funding as my mother is partly funded by KCC - the rest is supplemented by her small pension. As far as I'm aware the KCC funding has not been increased sufficiently as she is such a long term resident.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.272)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.272) out of 10 for Beulah Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.772 for Beulah Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 57 Ratings = 4.772
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beulah Lodge Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
