My mum has been happily living at Bowercroft for over 3 years. The team are very caring, friendly and attentive to her needs. They have a great relationship with her, making her smile and laugh every day, treating her with dignity and respect, and they give her the time she needs.
I'm always made
to feel welcomed when I visit.
The home is kept very clean, the food is excellent, and I feel confident that she is safe and well cared for.

My mum has resided in Bowercroft for nearly three years now and i know that we could not have found her anywhere better to look after her. The staff are all wonderful and so caring and we know that mum has always been very happy there. I am always made to feel special when i visit, always a cup of coffee
on hand, and now that mum is in the later stage of Dementia i get looked after too. I have got to know all of the staff and the residents which makes visiting a lot more pleasurable. Mum is always immaculate and the home is always so clean with a lovely atmosphere. I would always recommend this wonderful care home to anyone.

My Aunt is very well looked after and she seems happy and content. The carers are lovely and patient with the residents and interactions really positive. The manager arranges regular activities to provide entertainment and highlights for the residents.

My mum has been a resident at Bowercroft Care Home since March 2022.
She moved there from her sheltered housing as due to her Alzheimer's she could no longer live by herself.
Understandably mum was very nervous of the move but all the staff immediately made both mum & myself feel so comfortable with
their caring & friendly approach.
Mum has a lovely bedroom which is bright & airy and always impeccably clean, same goes for the rest of the home, the whole place just has a wonderful homely feel about it
Mum is so happy at Bowercroft, she's made some lovely friendships with some of the other residents there, its so lovely to see.
Whenever i visit mum I'm always made to feel so welcome, the staff are all so friendly nothing ever seems too much trouble.
I would highly recommend this lovely care home.

My Aunt has been a resident at Bowercroft for 10years and has reached the great age of 103years. She has always felt happy and safe in Bowercroft and considers it her home. Many of the staff have worked there for many years and we considered them friends. There is always a lovely, homely atmosphere
and visitors are made to feel welcome too. My aunt has always been very well cared for and the staff are always on top of any medical requirements. She enjoys the morning actives and entertainment. The owner and manager run an excellent care home and are always approachable and are greatly appreciated along with their amazing staff.10/10. Amanda.

Mum has been living at the home for almost 3 years and in September she was 100 years young. The staff went to great lengths to ensure her day was special. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff always make time for the little things that matter. Mum is always clean and dressed smartly with manicured
nails and regular haircuts which helps to make her feel good about herself.

My mother has been a resident at Bowercroft Care Home since March 2023 when her previous Home closed. The staff are all welcoming, competent and very caring, with excellent knowledge and training regarding Dementia. Mum is very happy at Bowercroft and adores the staff. The building is incredibly well-maintained
incredibly clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend this lovely care home.

Mum has been a resident at Bowercroft since March this year, and we know it was the right choice for her. It has the feel of a large family home. The level of engagement from the professional yet friendly staff, with both residents and family members, cannot be faulted.
The home is always clean and
well maintained; the meals varied and of good quality.
She has settled in well and joins in with the social aspects of living in this family orientated home.
The staff genuinely care about Mum's well being and keep us informed, either by telephone or when we visit. It is a calm, safe and warm environment with a lovely team of people at its heart.

My mum has been a resident at Bowercroft for over nine years and it was definitely the right choice for her. We were impressed with how clean and fresh the home was and how friendly the staff were.
The home is maintained to a high standard and it always smells fresh and is spotlessly clean. The level
of care my mum receives is beyond reproach.
The staff are always happy and helpful and the atmosphere is that of a large, happy home.
You would be hard-pressed to find a better, friendlier and happier care home than Bowercroft.

My mother has been a resident at Bowercroft for two years now and I can't praise the care she has received highly enough. Mum not only has Dementia and Parkinsons, she has recently been extremely poorly and was not expected to recover. The manager and every member of the team have shown such dedication
and care, doing everything possible to help her get well. Her recovery has been extraordinary, thanks to all of them. They were also all extremely kind and welcoming to all our family, looking after us too as we visited daily, during a very difficult period. I have no hesitation in recommending the home.

I'm not sure that anything I write here will accurately describe the care that our mother has had in the two years that she's been in this place. What I would say is that my mother-in-law was staying in a purpose-built home with amazing amenities, yet when I compare the experiences, there is absolutely
nothing that she received there that Bowercroft hasn't sorted for our mum. If you're reading this because you're researching care homes in the Maidstone area, stop your research now. You've found your ideal place. The manager and her team will stop at nothing to ensure that your relative gets the care that they deserve, even fighting local services on your behalf! To say that they saved our mum's life, is no overstatement.

This is a lovely care home, all the staff without exception are very good and provide excellent care. My mother has been a resident here since August 2019. She was admitted with dementia which gradually has advanced and the staff have looked after her very well. All through the Covid lockdown period
and to date, the staff have been amazing. Communication is always excellent.
It is very well run and managed.
You will always be warmly welcomed if you choose this home and know your relative will be well cared for and treated with respect and dignity.

Our mother has been at Bowercroft since February this year. I am so pleased to say she has been very happy and really wanted to stay, which has now been made possible. The home has made superb efforts during lockdown to ensure we could continue to visit Mum safely. There is always a welcome from staff, who are friendly and approachable. The atmosphere is warm, and the environment always clean and inviting. My mum is not the easiest person to please, but she tells
us she is very happy at Bowercroft, and is always well cared for and feels safe. I do not have to worry about her now, as I know the staff will keep me informed of any concerns.

Bowercroft is a small residential home which suits my brother well. All the Staff know him, as do the other residents. Staff work tirelessly to keep residents engaged and relatives connected. They adapted quickly to this last difficult year to enable relatives and friends to keep in touch whether by
iPad screens or behind Perspex screens. I can also easily contact staff by telephone if the need arises. Bowercroft staff couldn’t have done more to give us a feeling of safety and my brother a happy and caring environment in which his needs are fully met. Thanks to all the staff for your very hard work and care during this awful year. I’m sure it has been a tough one and very tiring. I have and will in the future recommend Bowercroft, with no hesitation.

My Dad has now been a resident in Bowercroft for nearly 3 years, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support the staff have provided during that time. Until covid came along, which has limited the opportunities for visiting my Dad, I know that he is comfortable, and very well cared for,
which means I and the rest of the family have no worries as to his physical and mental well being. I cannot thank the staff enough for all that they do, and particularly in light of the pandemic, the difficulties they have had to overcome during this very trying time.

I have my mother in Bowercroft, she started her stay on 30th December 2019, after being in hospital for some time with a broken hip, came out of there ok, quite remarkable as she was 97. She has settled down and now she seems to be a different person, this is all down to the care she is getting from
incredible staff members at Bowercroft, she is very happy and has made friends with lots of residents, there is always something going on to keep them occupied, also the food is freshly prepared. I can only say that my choice of Bowercroft was the right choice and has restored my feelings on care homes. I would go as far to say that I don’t think you could find a better and as caring care home as Bowercroft. I would strongly recommend it to anyone that has to put their mother or father into care. Look no further, Bowercroft is quite unique. 5 stars from myself and the rest of her family.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.747)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.747) out of 10 for Bowercroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.947 for Bowercroft is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.947
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bowercroft is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
