The staff honestly met her every need, calling in the services of the local GP, Home Treatment service and District Nurses to deal with her medical problems which arose quite frequently.
As a family we were included and very welcome. I had every confidence that my mother was safe, happy, well fed and well cared for.
My mother became very unwell and reached the end of her life. The staff gave diligent and kind care to her, working with the NHS team to meet all of her needs. I was with her when she passed, peacefully and with dignity.
I absolutely recommend Capel Grange 100%. Thank you to all of the staff.
They are the most amazing people. Nothing is too much. The care is like its their own family member they are looking after. Its like home. They are so caring and loving - if I needed care I want to go there - its a home from home.
My wife had been at Capel Grange for over four years, and from day one she has had nothing but kind and loving care. The staff are exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone who needs care.
Mum moved into Capel Grange in February 2025 after suffering a fall at home which made it impossible for her to keep living independently. The atmosphere at Capel Grange is so friendly and caring, she is very happy there. All the staff are exceptional in their care of the residents and their awareness of individual needs. I have been really impressed over the last 6 months, as her every need is catered for and she so well looked after. There are always activities and entertainment and Mum loves the food! We are very happy that she is there
I cannot praise Capel Grange Tonbridge enough. All staff are caring, considerate and professional even in sometimes difficult circumstances. The staff are always to hand, know the individuals, their likes and dislikes. They have a good variety of activities/entertainment and on occasion take some of the residents on outings which goes down very well.
There is always a choice for meals, snacks during the day and now an ice cream machine which is truly appreciated by the residents.
Thank you Capel for being there !!
My grandpa was here for a few months and the care he received before his passing was exemplar. I cannot express how grateful our family is to the carers and staff who look after every resident. They are always willing to help and were all very helpful in arranging undertakers and general practitioners and the comfort they brought my mum and gran (daughter + wife) was superb. Thank you Capel Grange.
My Mother received exceptional care in 2019 and as a result, I have now placed my husband at Capel Grange. The care is wonderful and the staff and atmosphere are great. They have also given me such good support.
My mum has been in this idyllic care home since August 2023. Personally, I have had experience with 3 other care homes in the area due to other family members, so I wasn't expecting the level of care my mum receives at Capel Grange. Each and every staff member I speak to, from the manager down to the cleaners, is so lovely. The primary carer of my mother is outstanding and regularly updates me on how she is when I'm not there, or if she needs anything. I feel confident that when I'm not there my mum is well looked after, talked to, and treated like a member of the Capel Grange family. There are activities for those who wish to participate, a choice of lovely food and all the essentials like hairdresser and chiropodist. What more could I ask for? Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I was so lucky to find this home almost by accident but a good accident. It's a lovely home with the most outstanding staff at all levels. The homely atmosphere and relaxed feeling make it a home from home. My husband has settled well this last year and is well looked after. Capel Grange has made an awful decision to make for any wife to make into the best thing I could have done for my husband. Can't fault it.
Thoroughly recommended, an excellent care home.
When we knew that mum could no longer remain safe at home we started looking at care homes local to Tonbridge. The moment I walked into Capel Grange I knew it was the right place for her and now nearly a year later I am so happy that we found Capel. The manager took the time to find out more about mum and was brilliant helping us in the transition from home to moving to Capel Grange. The atmosphere at Capel is warm, friendly and homely. The staff genuinely show their care for all the residents. Mum settled into the life of Capel Grange quickly and I think this is a testament to the way the staff are and the ethos of the home. The activities for the residents are great and mum enjoys joining in whatever is going on. I especially love the fact that there are many areas where mum can sit and have company around her. Communication regarding mum is very good and the manager always listens and is extremely hands on and proactive. I would highly recommend Capel Grange.
All the staff we have met have been cheerful and friendly. Mum is very happy and has said “she feels so blessed to be living in such beautiful surroundings with such kind people”.
We would like to thank all the staff for their continuous loving care.
Mum is very comfortable and content in the home. She is well cared for and I don’t need to worry about her. She loves the meals and can always ask for alternatives. The carers are her friends. I am always kept informed about any problems.
The staff at Capel Grange are very friendly, caring and considerate and have been very supportive to my mum and her family during a time when difficult decisions had to be made. She is now settled and happy and we know she is safe and well looked after.
The care my dad receives at Capel Grange Care Home continues to be wonderful, the staff are so considerate and caring to his needs and he is very happy there. The residents are treated like family and I too feel like I am part of the family as the staff are so friendly and welcoming when I visit. The grounds are beautiful and Dad and I enjoy time spent together enjoying the lovely surroundings in the spring sunshine. The activities staff keep Dad busy and stimulated and he very much enjoys the home cooked meals. Dad has thrived since his move to the home, I am very happy with Capel Grange, as is Dad.
Capel Grange Care Home was our first experience of the care system. They took my mother at a time when she needed a lot of support and we were unsure if they could provide what we needed. They took on board all of our concerns and provided all the care she needed and more. Since being at Capel Grange she has been seen by the doctor regularly and the district nurse when required. We have a close relationship with the staff who we have got to know over the past year. These are people who truly care about the elderly, they have looked after us as well as our mother. If we have any concerns I speak to the manager who takes action. They have been lifesavers.
We have been very happy with the care given to my mother, whilst in Cape Grange. She has now been resident for two years and a gentle sympathetic approach is taken by all of the staff. I would recommend this home if you are looking for an intimate, caring approach.
The management and staff at the care home are very welcoming in person, and very informative to us on the phone, which is a great comfort in this current pandemic.
I have LPOA for my uncle who is a resident there, as was my mother a few years ago.
The staff are very courteous to both him and me, and even though I cannot visit easily as I live abroad I know many of them on first names and so can ask questions and get information back on his health on a day to day basis.
He has had a few trips to the hospital but they have always been very quick to summon paramedics if need be.
The home is a large house so the residents are more at home than if in a more modern hospital type of building.
They have different activities arranged to help keep the residents more active and will encourage participation but not force them to attend. The advantage here is that should a resident get dementia there are trained staff available and the resident does not have to leave the premises, maybe just a more convenient room. The "cottage" where the day room is for the dementia patients has more staff per residents to accommodate their problems.
My mother has been a resident at Capel Grange for several years. Her care has always been given with compassion and understanding of her deteriorating mental condition. The family feel that Mum could not be in better hands, and are so pleased that she is able to continue at Capel Grange as her health declines.
