Old Farmhouse Residential Home

My wife has been resident at the Old Farmhouse for 5 years and I visit her in the home on most days of the week, other commitments permitting. I have always found my wife to be well cared for, not just with attention to her bodily condition but with love. Any concerns I have are always promptly attended to and I have never had any concerns about her continuing care.

From the moment I walked into the Old Farmhouse to see my dear friend. I felt a warm and welcoming feeling. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The home manager introduced herself and accompanied me to my friend in an extremely warm and friendly manner. So many friendly faces from staff during my visit and happy content residents, what a lovely home, I am planning on putting my name on the waiting list!

If I had looked at one hundred care homes I would have chosen this one for Mum.

Words cannot express how kind, caring and professional all the staff are. My mum went for four weeks of respite but stayed for 10 due to unforeseen circumstances. Everybody went above and beyond for my mum's care until she passed away. They all would smile, no matter what. My mum had been bedbound for 2.5 years but she was up and mixing with other residents all due to their support. One of my best memories will be our Christmas day with her. The food is excellent. this is the best care home I have ever visited. It was always clean and not smelly. All the staff were kind. The food was excellent. The activities were amazing. It gave my nans last few weeks fun, laughter and happiness.

The Old Farmhouse is one of the best, if not the best, care homes in the area. The level of sincere care and support is off the scale! Me and my family were so pleased to have found The Old Farmhouse and that my wife enjoyed her last days there! Our sincere thanks go to all the staff and everyone involved with my wife's care.

When any difficulties did occur, every effort was made to resolve them quickly and any outside services required were sought by the team. I was kept constantly up to date with Mum's circumstances. The Farmhouse group chat is so valuable and reassuring.

My mother has been a resident here for eighteen months and thoroughly enjoys everything about Old Farmhouse Residential Home. Her dementia is treated with sensitivity and the daily activities help with her cognitive function and general happiness. The soul midwife is an inspired support facility too.

My husband has been a resident for almost three years and has had excellent care throughout. The staff are exceptional and wonderful people who treat those in their care with respect and love. The food is top notch and everyone’s varying needs are catered for. This is not a purpose-built home but I consider having caring staff much more important than having the latest facilities. That having been said, the home is exceedingly well-maintained.

I have been visiting this home for about 7 years and have always found the staff and atmosphere very good. The home is always clean and no nasty smells which make quite a difference to the people who are in the home. You always get one or two who resent the fact that they have to be placed in a home.

My daughter recommended this care home and I was extremely pleased that she did. I have spent several occasions in care homes and this one equals all of those I have had to use on occasions.

My elderly mother came to live here over two years ago, transferred out of nursing home care as she was capable of living a more independent life due to the resolution of health needs. She had lived at Old Farmhouse Residential Home before as a direct choice from her own home but after six months residence, she suffered a stroke which after hospital admission required nursing home care. The family always wanted her to return to Old Farmhouse Residential Home which she did as a permanent resident in 2013. The staff, management, care and environment at the Old Farmhouse Residential Home is excellent, the team and family atmosphere is sincere and positive as the residents are truly cared for as individuals by and with staff who know and respect them as people. The staff are permanent, values and rarely change despite the needs and demands made by some elderly and frail residents which is very comforting and reassuring to family and residents this home made with options offered regular activities are hosted and organised and above all the house feels like "home" as privacy is protected and inclusion encouraged if desired.

Since coming here and that's not very long. I must say I've been well treated by all the staff and have had everything I have asked for, this says a lot for the staff as I keep shaking and making a mess of everything as you can see. I need more help that when I first came here and I am getting it when needed. I can't say any fairer than that.

I am pleased I came to the Old Farmhouse as it is in the area I have lived in for the past sixty odd years. The care I receive is second to none, all the girls look after me. The meals provided are good but then I will eat anything that is put in front of me. I cant really find fault with anything but then things can always be improved upon.

The home is always clean and welcoming. My mother is comfortable and she appreciates the kindness of the staff. There are opportunities to go out and socialize but my mother prefers to be peaceful in her room. There are choices over meals taking into account digestive problems, the cook is happy to discuss choices and kindly endeavours to provide appropriate food. There is a happy atmosphere in the home which has a good staff team.

My sister has been in the care home for two years, and is very well looked after and is very happy there. The staff are very attentive and look after her very well. She is 84 years old.
