Review of Heathfield from Paul C (Son of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My stepmother has always been very independent and private. Until she was ninety-six, she managed her own home with very minimal support. After an unfortunate fall and brief hospital stay, it was agreed that she was no longer safe at home.

She found the move to Heathfield very traumatic. For the first time, was not in control of her day. She had to ask to use the toilet, wait for help getting up and experience being taken to bed. Sadie and her team rose to the challenge. They provided excellent physical and medical care while patiently encouraging her to join meals and activities, but also recognising when she needs quiet and space.

There have been challenges with her hearing, eyesight, mobility, memory and anxiety, but the team have consistently worked with her wishes and found thoughtful solutions. Over the last six months, Heathfield has increasingly become her home whilst providing the care and support she needs.

Reply from Tara Oakley, Customer Experience and Wellness Officer at Heathfield

Dear Paul, Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We understand how significant a transition into residential care can be, particularly for someone who has lived so independently for so long. We are delighted to hear that Sadie and the team have supported your stepmother with...

Review of Heathfield from Marrianne V (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father was looked after very well whilst he stayed at Heathfield, he enjoyed the home made meals, he was cared for with respect and dignity. His bedroom was always clean and tidy, We had no concerns leaving my father in their care.
He would interact with the activities on the days he wanted to even though he got asked daily if he wanted to join in.
All the staff from different departments interacted with him,
Management was also helpful when we as a family needed support.

I would definitely recommend Heathfield to people for care for their loved ones.

I cannot thank the staff enough at Cressenor House for the care they gave to my Dad whilst a resident from March 2023 until June 2026, when sadly he passed away. He was genuinely well looked after and given so much love by every member of the team. My family and I were always welcomed with love when we visited. One exceptional team member was Mo who always greeted us with a huge smile and the offer of a cup of tea which went down a treat!

Mum was placed at Priory Mews for emergency respite care. Despite the care home being far away from where we live, the staff have ensured that mum is well cared for and that her family are fully involved in her care. They respond quickly to emails and phone calls, which have been daily. Visits have been positive and staff always ensure we are well looked after and offer support when it is time to leave. We have been fully informed of medical incidents and decisions since mum arrived.

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Y R (Relative of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Please do not send anyone you love to this care home. A family member was discharged from hospital to Beaumont house. After around 2 weeks of him being there they doubled his dosage of a mild sedative drug which was used to regulate his emotions which then turnt him into a zombie. They would not decrease it back down, the managers are awful, an ambulance was called and the manager came and asked the paramedics to move their van in the middle of tending to my family member and they love to spin a false narrative. He had 3 falls in 1 week due to negligence when giving medications they can not administer medications safely and was giving all different doses each day. They do not know how to care for people, let alone people with dementia / cognitive impairments. I wouldn't allow my pet hamster to stay here. It is dirty, it constantly smells, it's unsafe and an inhumane place to send someone. It needs shutting down.

Reply from Marlon Soriano, Priory Mews Care Home Manager at Priory Mews Care Home

While we cannot comment on individual circumstances due to confidentiality, we would like to clarify that all medication is prescribed by the resident's GP or appropriate clinician. Our role is to administer it exactly as prescribed. Throughout your loved one's stay, we worked closely with...

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Cynthia C (Sister of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My first impression was a huge screen in the living room blaring out loud music which immediately felt like sensory overload. The staff seemed friendly but very little or no interaction with residents including the person in charge of activities who was busy doing other things. A resident sat with her head leaning to the side with no support, even when a drink was put in front of her she was not put in a more comfortable position. The fish tank was so green the fish were hardly visible. Residence are confined to the living area, with a tiny patio and are not taken out for walks or outings. The individual needs of residence are not taken into consideration or catered for contrary to what they claim. The breakfast menu is full of unhealthy processed food everyday and crisps as snacks.

Reply from Marlon Soriano, Priory Mews Care Home Manager at Priory Mews Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your impression of our home was not a positive one.

Review of Heatherdale Nursing Home from Laura B (Son of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
After a long wait, my father in law was offered a place at another home via social services. Whilst it was nice, having visited Heatherdale, we were keen for him to go there.
Right from the initial visit, everyone at the home was friendly & inviting. I spoke to a number of the residents families to ask them their thoughts too & genuinely was pleased by all their responses. It's a really hard task finding the right place for a family member & not one we took lightly.

Emma, Sharon & the team are so lovely & welcomed Alan into the home with open arms. My father in law had PSP, a degenerative disease that's very rare however, all the staff were keen to understand his needs & take the time to talk to him & made him felt heard. There are no set visiting times which as a family we really liked, it meant we could pop in at anytime & felt reassured they had nothing to hide. My father in law unfortunately passed away in March 26 but wouldn't hesitate recommending Heatherdale.

I would just like to say thank you so much for looking after my Mum. You brought out her fun side her cheeky smile and humour and her acting skills. She was so well looked after. She loved going into the lounge and being nosey. She loved the activities. You truly made her happy and content. She loved the food and she was so much better when you sorted out her medication.
