Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Y R (Relative of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Please do not send anyone you love to this care home. A family member was discharged from hospital to Beaumont house. After around 2 weeks of him being there they doubled his dosage of a mild sedative drug which was used to regulate his emotions which then turnt him into a zombie. They would not decrease it back down, the managers are awful, an ambulance was called and the manager came and asked the paramedics to move their van in the middle of tending to my family member and they love to spin a false narrative. He had 3 falls in 1 week due to negligence when giving medications they can not administer medications safely and was giving all different doses each day. They do not know how to care for people, let alone people with dementia / cognitive impairments. I wouldn't allow my pet hamster to stay here. It is dirty, it constantly smells, it's unsafe and an inhumane place to send someone. It needs shutting down.

Reply from Marlon Soriano, Priory Mews Care Home Manager at Priory Mews Care Home

While we cannot comment on individual circumstances due to confidentiality, we would like to clarify that all medication is prescribed by the resident's GP or appropriate clinician. Our role is to administer it exactly as prescribed. Throughout your loved one's stay, we worked closely with...

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Cynthia C (Sister of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My first impression was a huge screen in the living room blaring out loud music which immediately felt like sensory overload. The staff seemed friendly but very little or no interaction with residents including the person in charge of activities who was busy doing other things. A resident sat with her head leaning to the side with no support, even when a drink was put in front of her she was not put in a more comfortable position. The fish tank was so green the fish were hardly visible. Residence are confined to the living area, with a tiny patio and are not taken out for walks or outings. The individual needs of residence are not taken into consideration or catered for contrary to what they claim. The breakfast menu is full of unhealthy processed food everyday and crisps as snacks.

Reply from Marlon Soriano, Priory Mews Care Home Manager at Priory Mews Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your impression of our home was not a positive one.

Review of Heatherdale Nursing Home from Laura B (Son of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
After a long wait, my father in law was offered a place at another home via social services. Whilst it was nice, having visited Heatherdale, we were keen for him to go there.
Right from the initial visit, everyone at the home was friendly & inviting. I spoke to a number of the residents families to ask them their thoughts too & genuinely was pleased by all their responses. It's a really hard task finding the right place for a family member & not one we took lightly.

Emma, Sharon & the team are so lovely & welcomed Alan into the home with open arms. My father in law had PSP, a degenerative disease that's very rare however, all the staff were keen to understand his needs & take the time to talk to him & made him felt heard. There are no set visiting times which as a family we really liked, it meant we could pop in at anytime & felt reassured they had nothing to hide. My father in law unfortunately passed away in March 26 but wouldn't hesitate recommending Heatherdale.

Dear Laura, Thank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We know how difficult it is to choose the right care home for a loved one, and we are honoured that you chose Heatherdale to care for Alan. It means so much to hear that management, and the wider team made him feel so...

After a stroke my dad was put into this care home recommend by the hospital because he also has dementia heathfield said they can care for his needs after a good 6 months of having to tell them about his personal care was not being met he was settling down he had his ups and downs but that was because his dementia was getting worse he is 92 years old been there for about 2 years and out of the blue my brother and I have been given 28 days notice to find somewhere else I understood that they cared for all types of dementia but obviously NOT this is going to cause him great stress and us so please be careful would hate for anyone else to go though this

I would just like to say thank you so much for looking after my Mum. You brought out her fun side her cheeky smile and humour and her acting skills. She was so well looked after. She loved going into the lounge and being nosey. She loved the activities. You truly made her happy and content. She loved the food and she was so much better when you sorted out her medication.

This will be the third time Mum has stayed for respite. I only have good things to say about this care home. Nurses excellent, carers excellent, reception excellent. Every person I have encountered has been happy, smiling and keen to help. What more can you want, Priory Mews has only employed caring people. Well done. Sad that Mum is leaving you.

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Claire B (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2026 Submitted via Website

My late stepfather came into Cressenor House for end-of-life care. He was only with you just short of a week but the team there provided him with exceptional care for the time he was there and the same level of care to myself and Roy's other family and friend that visited during his short time there.

The nursing team called me promptly when his situation changed which enabled me to be with him when he passed. Their care and compassion helped at an incredibly tough time. Thank you.

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from C P (Ex Family Member) published on 10 March 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The experience we had at priory mews was actually beyond awful and I truly hope that people look into this care home before letting their loved ones be put into their care. If I could rate it zero stars I really would.
My grandmother was left in the most awful of states more times than we could possibly count. Not washed properly, teeth not brushed, hair not brushed or washed, wearing other people's clothes or no clothes!!! Left to sit in her own urine for hours!! The care home absolutely stinks of urine and faeces as soon as you walk in which is disgusting and so embarrassing when you have family and friends visiting. Her illnesses weren't taken seriously or even noticed by the staff. And she couldn't call for staff as her call button was always hooked up away from her.

However I will say the staff working in this part of the home were lovely people but they are overworked for the amount of people they have to look after and there is a huge lack of basic care for residents.

Review of Priory Mews Care Home from Peter S (Son of Resident) published on 28 January 2026 Submitted via Website

Priory Mews Care Home only had my Mother for two weeks. But my sister and I were so pleased to have her there. All she wanted was somewhere quiet and comfortable to say goodbye to her loving family and to end her days, she was after all 102. Priory Mews provided her with the peace, quiet and comfort she was hoping for and much much more. The staff were very understanding of, not only her needs but also the needs of us, her family. They gave my Mother all the care and attention she needed, they were kind, considerate and compassionate and allowed my Mother to say goodbye to the world in the way that she wanted, which was a marked difference to the treatment she had received in hospital for the previous five weeks.

My sister and I would like to use this opportunity to give our thanks to the staff and management of Priory Mews for their compassion and professionalism in caring for my Mother in her final days.

Review of Heathfield from Jenna M (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Dad moved to Heathfield from a hospital stay in August 2025 and sadly now this has become his full time home, as a family we had no experience of care homes prior to Dad's admission , The manager has worked with us every step of the way ensuring that Dad stayed where he was settled and happy. They cater for all Dads needs and we don't have to worry about anything.
When we visit the staff are always extremely friendly and approachable making the visits a pleasure.
This was our first Christmas without Dad at home, and we were all wondering what to expect , we shouldn't have worried as we were welcomed to spend Christmas day & lunch with dad at the home.
I can't express what a lovely day it was , all staff treated us all extremely well and nothing was to much as they worked tirelessly all day.

We had a great time joining the residents for their lunch and Heathfield had thought of every detail from Christmas favours on the table to crackers and the residents' receiving personal gifts.
