Priory Mews Care Home

The experience we had at priory mews was actually beyond awful and I truly hope that people look into this care home before letting their loved ones be put into their care. If I could rate it zero stars I really would.

My grandmother was left in the most awful of states more times than we could

possibly count. Not washed properly, teeth not brushed, hair not brushed or washed, wearing other people's clothes or no clothes!!! Left to sit in her own urine for hours!! The care home absolutely stinks of urine and faeces as soon as you walk in which is disgusting and so embarrassing when you have family and friends visiting. Her illnesses weren't taken seriously or even noticed by the staff. And she couldn't call for staff as her call button was always hooked up away from her.

However I will say the staff working in this part of the home were lovely people but they are overworked for the amount of people they have to look after and there is a huge lack of basic care for residents.

Reply from Tara Oakley, Customer Experience and Wellness Officer at Priory Mews Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your grandmother's experience at Priory Mews did not meet your expectations and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
When residents join our home, personalised care plans and risk assessments are created to reflect their individual needs, wishes, and preferences. We understand that these wishes may sometimes differ from what family members hope for, and we recognise how difficult this can be.
Moving into a care home can be a significant and sometimes unsettling transition. Some residents may initially feel disorientated or reluctant to accept care. As time goes on, our residents became more familiar with the environment and our team, gradually becoming more comfortable and engaged more with the support offered.
We take all concerns seriously and review them thoroughly whenever they are raised. Our focus remains on providing respectful, person-centred care while maintaining open communication.

My mum, Maria, was shown, respect and a huge amount of care and compassion by all the staff in Cressenor House. They made a very upsetting and emotional time, so much more bearable for myself and my family, we couldn't fault them, mum was treated with dignity and made comfortable at all times, particularly
in her last hours. We are truly very grateful to you all, and we will never forget how kind you were to my lovely mum and to us.
Reply from Tara Oakley, Customer Experience and Wellness Officer at Priory Mews Care HomeDear Angelo, Thank you for your incredibly heartfelt words. Priory Mews Care Home only had my Mother for two weeks. But my sister and I were so pleased to have her there. All she wanted was somewhere quiet and comfortable to say goodbye to her loving family and to end her days, she was after all 102. Priory Mews provided her with the peace, quiet and comfort
she was hoping for and much much more. The staff were very understanding of, not only her needs but also the needs of us, her family. They gave my Mother all the care and attention she needed, they were kind, considerate and compassionate and allowed my Mother to say goodbye to the world in the way that she wanted, which was a marked difference to the treatment she had received in hospital for the previous five weeks.
My sister and I would like to use this opportunity to give our thanks to the staff and management of Priory Mews for their compassion and professionalism in caring for my Mother in her final days.
Reply from Tara Oakley, Customer Experience and Wellness Officer at Priory Mews Care HomeDear Peter, Thank you for sharing such a deeply moving and personal review. We are truly honoured that Priory Mews was able to support your mother and your family during such an important and emotional time. Providing comfort, dignity, and compassion at the end of life is something we take very seriously, and we are grateful to know that your mother was able to spend her final days in the peaceful way she wished. Your thanks to the staff and management will be shared with the whole team, who will be touched by your kind words.

My Dad moved to Heathfield from a hospital stay in August 2025 and sadly now this has become his full time home, as a family we had no experience of care homes prior to Dad's admission , The manager has worked with us every step of the way ensuring that Dad stayed where he was settled and happy. They
cater for all Dads needs and we don't have to worry about anything.
When we visit the staff are always extremely friendly and approachable making the visits a pleasure.
This was our first Christmas without Dad at home, and we were all wondering what to expect , we shouldn't have worried as we were welcomed to spend Christmas day & lunch with dad at the home.
I can't express what a lovely day it was , all staff treated us all extremely well and nothing was to much as they worked tirelessly all day.
We had a great time joining the residents for their lunch and Heathfield had thought of every detail from Christmas favours on the table to crackers and the residents' receiving personal gifts.
Reply from Tara Oakley, Customer Experience and Wellness Officer at HeathfieldDear Jenna,
Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are truly grateful that you entrusted Heathfield with your dad's care, and we're pleased to hear he has settled well and feels happy and supported. Your kind words about the manager and the wider team mean a great deal to us, especially knowing how important family involvement is. We're also glad we could make Christmas Day a special and reassuring experience for you and your family. Your feedback will be shared with the whole team, who will be deeply touched by your comments.

It was our best decision for Mum to move to Hawthorn Manor - it is not 'a home' but very much Home. The staff - from management to care staff/activity girls and cleaners - are without exception, caring, professional, hardworking and friendly.
There is a lot of effort put into meeting every resident's
needs. Regular meetings with family and residents. The activities are all inclusive and staff make the effort to take residents out of trips too every week. Plus it smells nice!!

My Mum lived in Hawthorn Manor for 11 months before she passed. We were impressed when we first viewed the home by its welcoming and homely feel. We found the staff caring and kind, we had no worries about the attention mum received. Communication with and by management and staff was good. Mum was encouraged
to join in the activities which were frequent although she didn't always participate. She came to look on Hawthorn as 'home' after a settling in period. We will always be grateful her last months were spent in such a compassionate and kind environment, both for her and our family. Thank you Hawthorn Manor

My husband was a resident at Heatherdale for just one week. He passed away peacefully, in no pain, in this home.
His care and nursing were exemplary. He was treated with respect and kindness by every member of the staff.
The management and doctor kept us up to date at all times. After spending 4 weeks
in hospital he was given special care and attention.
He was happy, comfortable and at peace when he passed. Thank you Heatherdeal from the Hunter family.
