My mum was only at Heatherdale for a few days but it was the most difficult time for her and us as a family. The manager and her staff were excellent, from viewing the home, to caring for my mum to their support and compassion shown to us. We could not have found better. Ir was a huge relief knowing
my mum was safe and cared for in the last few days of her life. The manager at Heatherdale is outstanding.

My mum sadly passed away last week at Heatherdale. She didn't want to go into a nursing home, but she soon settled in due to the care and support from all staff. Heatherdale is a very welcoming place and is kept clean and fresh to a very high standard. Communication is good, and management and the nurses
were always available if I had any concerns. There were activities most days, in the lounge, lots of parties and singers which everyone enjoyed. At the end, mum was treated with great care and dignity, and I take great comfort that I was with her when she passed peacefully. All the kindness and support by everyone will be forever in my heart.

All the staff up at this home seem to be really friendly and welcoming. My dad's treatment was excellent. It's always clean and tidy. They've always got activities going on. And I would like to thank them all for taking care of him.

My mother has been cared for here for the past year. Her care is excellent. She took a long time to settle but has had sympathetic encouragement from staff and now seems very settled and happily talks about activities they do. Mum's favourite is bingo. All staff are friendly and welcoming. I personally
cannot fault the care here, all staff are happy and the place is well-managed.

Dad was only in Heather Dale Nursing Home for a short while. During that time he was treated with kindness, and respect and given the very best care. My family and I were made to feel very welcome when we visited no matter what time of day or night it was. We were supported by the nursing staff throughout
the palliative care/end-of-life treatment.
Dad passed away peacefully and in no pain.
We would not hesitate in recommending Heather Dale Nursing Home to others. We were so impressed with everything and everyone.

My mum has been in Heatherdale Nursing Home for 7 and a half years and I’m very happy with the care that she has received. I know that she is safe and well looked after.
The carers that have been there since my mum arrived have been the best at keeping me updated and it’s nice to see familiar faces.
The entertainment that’s arranged each day definitely keeps the residents motivated.

Heather Dale is an excellent nursing home. The staff are friendly and caring and do their utmost for her. When my wife first went there she was very ill, but through the care and attention that she has been given, she has made a remarkable recovery. There are plenty of well-run activities and opportunities
to socialise throughout the week. She also has a good degree of autonomy which is beneficial to her. Communication between staff and family is excellent and the home is welcoming and friendly. I feel reassured that my wife is in such a caring home and I know that the family appreciate all that is being done for her.

I am happy with the care that my dad is receiving from all the varied staff members. He has improved so much health wise and he is socialising more than when he was at home. Communal Lounge - Residents left unattended for long periods. Most were not mobile so unable to reach the call alarm on the wall. My mother had to shout for help if she wanted aid, this labelled her disruptive.
Activities - Rare.
Entertainment - Limited, apart from TV.
Carers - Some were very kind,
others were not.


Mum had lost mobility. She frequently needed the toilet, some carers showed it was a nuisance for them. The wait for assistance was often 30 minutes or much longer which was distressing for Mum and she was made to feel an inconvenience. She told me ‘just because I’m old they think I have no feelings’. She deteriorated, I often found her confused and nervously grinding her jaw. After 7 months Mum moved to a better care home, she improved dramatically! Within a week she was walking again with a frame and was even able to visit the toilet by herself! Mum was no longer confused or anxious, she regained her dignity and quality of life. I wish she had moved away from Heather Dale sooner.

My family and I bless the day we found this nursing home. We had looked at 8 others and just felt each one was not up to the standard that we wanted for our Mum. Mums health deteriorated very quickly mentally and psychically but Heather Dale's excellent care and understanding made this so much easier
to deal with. The carers and nursing staff could not have been more caring and devoted to our Mum than if she had been their mother. Mums dignity was totally respected and they would lovingly talk to Mum about anything she wanted to converse about. Everyone from the manager, the cook, carers and cleaners, would pop in and have a chat and spend a bit of time with her. Someone from the family would visit daily so we were able to see at all times what a wonderful nursing home this is.
I have nothing but high regard for all the staff for their time and care spent with Mum. Thank you, everyone.

I would like to say that the care, attention given to my mother while she was at Heather Dale was excellent. Carried out in a professional manner by all members of staff who were all very caring in the way that they all worked to make her very comfortable. All staff were very helpful at all times nothing
was too much trouble for them we were always made welcome when we visited. Always kept informed by the staff including the nursing team at the home of all her care and treatment. I would recommend this nursing home. Score 10 out of 10

I know what a difficult character he is! Also, he has certain mental problems which you have tried hard to address with a good degree of patience.


Although he is never satisfied with his lot in life, and therefore is unlikely to thank you himself,

we at least understand your difficulties and thank you for finding alternative accommodation for him.

Job Title: Registered Manager

Emma's impressive journey began with her qualification as a Registered General Nurse in Spain back in 2001, achieving a commendable 2:1. Her decision to relocate to the UK was driven by her participation in a UK and Spanish nursing program, as well as the desire to be closer to her grandmother. Emma expanded her nursing repertoire by becoming a Tropical Nursing nurse, allowing her to contribute her skills globally for nearly eight years.


In 2011, Emma shifted her focus to nursing homes, where she took on various roles, progressing from a nurse to a deputy and eventually a manager. Her dedication to professional growth is evident through her completion of a Master's degree in Advanced Health Care Practice, with a specialised interest and thesis in Palliative Care.


In her leisure time, Emma remains committed to learning, currently pursuing an MSC in Education. Emma's passions extend to the culinary arts, as she enjoys both cooking and baking. As a mother of two children and a dog, she finds joy in embracing both her Spanish and English cultural heritage.
