The support given to me was also very much appreciated.
Just cannot say enough good praise the team at the Grange. Thanks for looking after our Mum all the way through and the superb care during that time for our Dad. The continuing care is fantastic. Huge thanks.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We adored looking after your Mum and will continue the same care for your Dad.
I am always welcomed by a friendly smiling face.
My friend is thriving and is very settled - very unlike before he moved to The Grange.
The view from his room is one of the best in Goring.

My mum has been at The Grange for two years in May 2026. The home has excellent, professional and caring staff which nothing is too much trouble for them to do. Lovely and quiet location which has beautiful and maintained gardens and lots of outside space to sit when visiting. The food is to a...
The activities are always available which are catered for all residents including a lovely mini bus for trips.
The Grange have gone above and beyond to accommodate my mum's needs when it has been required this year, which I will be always truly grateful for.

Our mum had to move into The Grange after falls at home. We were all really worried about how she'd adjust. But since being at The Grange, it's like she's come back to life, back to her old self.
She's knitting, reading, and sewing again, involved in baking and cooking (she was a chef), doing her favourite things means the world to her. She also loves going out on day trips. She spends time chatting with her new friends there. She's smiling and laughing again, the mum we remember so fondly is right there again.
What's really stood out to us as a family is how happy and comfortable she is. She's clearly so well cared for. It gives us huge peace of mind to know she's in such safe, capable, and genuinely kind hands.
And it's not just Mum who's looked after, every time we visit, we feel welcomed and cared for, too. The staff go above and beyond, and the warmth of The Grange shines through in everything they do.
We're so grateful to everyone there. Thank you for giving us our mum back.

I needed to move my dad to a care home recently after he became unable to live alone, and The Grange couldn't have been a better choice for him to spend his final year. The Grange feels like a real home and I always loved visiting. The building is well maintained and the grounds are lovely, especially the sun terrace overlooking the gardens. I wasn't sure he would enjoy the activities but it turned out he loved to take part, he especially enjoyed visits from animals and trips to the local cafe and was kept very busy. The staff are lovely and many seem to have been there a long time so know all the residents and their needs really well. Thank you so much to The Grange and all the staff for looking after my dad so well and making the most of his last year.
My aunt appears to be happy at The Grange. I visit her around 3 times a week having given advance notice of my visit. Generally, she is ready, and if I have said that I will take her out she is already in a wheelchair, but occasionally the message does not get through and there is a bit of a...
The staff always appear to be kind to the residents, though occasionally we have to remind them that my aunt is able to get herself up and standing on her own otherwise they try to help her which gets her into a panic.
My aunt is always in clean clothes and her room is clean.
When we request something specific (e.g. sessions with a physio, an extra eye test, friends coming to visit her, etc) they are always very helpful and obliging.
The staff often have time to sit and just chat with the residents in the main lounge.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're glad to hear that your aunt is happy at The Grange and that you find the team kind and helpful. We really appreciate your feedback about her care and communication. We will certainly work on ensuring messages are consistently received by all staff, and...

My experience of my mother's care has been generally very good. She has always been encouraged to participate in activities despite her declining health and I have been heartened by the friends she has made who, with all the help from the kind carers, have made her stay there generally very comfortable and supportive. Although I miss her greatly, it has been comforting to know she is being well looked after at The Grange.

Allaround care and attention paid to residents and visitors. The activities programme is enriching and empowering, but most of all, fun. The idea of growing veg and herbs is brilliant, as many residents have a long history working in their own gardens.

We initially chose The Grange as it was one of the only homes locally we could find where they could continue to share a room together (every other care home offered two single rooms). It’s a beautiful old building so has some gorgeous large rooms.
The former manager was really helpful and we met the current manager when we viewed the sister home Lyndhurst back in 2017/18.
Wouldn’t have any hesitation recommending The Grange ourselves now, a big thank you to the wonderful care team.

My mother moved to the Grange about three years ago after it became clear that she could not continue living at home. She chose the Grange initially for the large garden leading down to the river. However, we were nervous about how she would settle into a care home and what the standard of care would be like. We shouldn't have been. The staff at the Grange have cared for her wonderfully. Led by the manager, they have looked after her every need, which has become far more difficult as her health has deteriorated. During the pandemic, they have gone to great lengths to successfully keep the virus out of the home. If the essence of every care home is the staff, the Grange could not be any better. As a family, we are very grateful.
Thank you for your kind works Rupert, it has been our pleasure to have her here.

Aaron is one of our Co-Directors and part of the Northey family, who run Goring Care Homes.
Qualified in care, with a background in accounting & finance, Aaron works in a variety of different areas of the business and enjoys the fact that no two days are the same.
He loves chatting with residents, their families and our team members, listening to their life stories and anecdotes. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, travelling, concerts & making good use of his Netflix subscription!

Colin is the founder & retiring Managing Director of Goring Care Homes. GCH was started with the purchase of The Grange in 1986, followed by Lyndhurst in 2000. Colin's career was in social work at various local authorities over the years, running successful homes for Berkshire Council before embarking on his own venture.
Colin is still very much active with the day-to-day running of the home, but after 37 years at the helm, and at 84, he is semi-retiring in 2023 to spend more time with his wife Jackie, & finish off those Garden tasks that have been overdue for a few decades.
