They have a fantastic new chef and specialist nutritionist providing nourishing and delicious food and an incredible new activities leader who brings energy and joy to each day. Residents are thrilled about the brilliant new trikes for outings around the garden or to nearby spots such as The Beetle & Wedge restaurant on the river. They also now have a very smart new wheelchair accessible minibus for local excursions and trips further afield.
At The Old Vicarage they have increased the ratio of carers to residents so that everyone receives more time, attention, and truly personalised support. They have welcomed a personal exercise specialist to help residents stay active and maintain their wellbeing, expanded their activity resources to create more meaningful and enjoyable experiences, and introduced a dedicated dementia coordinator to provide compassionate, specialised, and individualised support for those living with dementia, ensuring they feel understood, valued, and safe.

The Old Vicarage feels like home from home. Everyone is friendly, helpful and caring. All the staff go above and beyond to make my mum feel happy and at home - nothing is to much for them. The care is truly excellent and my mum has made so many new friends in such a short space of time. When I leave after a visit I know that my mum is not only safe but happy and pleased to be staying. In only a month she feels happy to call The Old Vic home. My mum has a lot of fun and there are so many activities to do that she is never bored. In only a month she's been to a concert, a boat trip, she's watched Wimbledon on a big screen in the court yard, she's been on a trike (a highlight), she's attended the summer fair and been to a drinks party. My mum, who was in the last stages of multiple myeloma, was admitted to the Old Vicarage for a week's respite care. However her condition deteriorated rapidly and it soon became clear that she needed palliative care. Every member of staff was wonderfully kind and sensitive to mum's situation, and did everything they could to keep her comfortable. The accommodation and facilities are of a very high standard and the home is in a beautiful rural setting. I would happily recommend the Old Vicarage to anyone. My mother moved into The Old Vicarage in April 2026. From the very start I have been impressed with the real desire to get to know Mum, her wishes, routines, her family and what is important to her and to make us all feel welcomed and reassured.She has settled quickly, she loves the outlook from her lovely room, and takes part in several of the many activities on offer. I visit often, at all times of the day, and I continue to be struck by the genuine warmth and care of the staff, and their quiet professionalism as they go about their work, even in challenging circumstances. In essence, this is a great care provider, it is clean, well managed, the food is delicious, and the staff are a credit to the leaderhsip team. The Old Vicarage feels like a real home from home, and my sisters and I feel we could not have chosen better for our mum.

My father moved into The Old Vicarage in December 2025 and from day one the staff could not have been more welcoming, caring, friendly and attentive. From the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel so welcome. All the staff go above and beyond what is expected and nothing is too much trouble for both the residents and visitors. The care he is receiving is second to none and very professional and caring. I am so impressed by the amount of time and trouble everyone takes to get to know each of the residents individually. My father certainly feels very safe and comfortable and has settled in very well. There are many activities offered daily to suit all tastes and abilities and the food is delicious! There is the most wonderful atmosphere and couldn't recommend The Old Vicarage highly enough!

Care homes are hard places to get right but the team at OV do. They came to understand & anticipate what my mother needed to thrive delivering her care with passion, sensitivity and expertise. They held her in such high regard and connected with her as a person not just a resident. It is a gem of a care home with its setting and building style making it feel real & not an institution or a hotel compared to the new type of modern purpose-built homes. The OV team (from management to carers ) listen and respond always looking to better their own standards and get it right for their residents. My mother has been a resident at The Old Vicarage in Moulsford for just over two years and recently turned 100. The staff combined their efforts to host an amazing birthday lunch for her and her family and friends. Everyone received a warm welcome through the front door and proceeded to the lounge to be served with drinks and canapes before enjoying a delicious meal, together with the other residents, followed by a sing-song with a visiting vocalist. We all enjoyed birthday cake and hot beverages too and the celebration took place surrounded by our special birthday decorations. The care staff, kitchen staff and activity staff went the extra mile to ensure her celebration, which coincided with her actual birthday, was a day to remember for everyone and all the guests and residents were looked after supremely well. It is not often that all four generations of our family can get together, and we all have very fond memories of the day. What a splendid place to call home!

My ex neighbour and friend moved to The Old Vicarage almost a year ago and staff have been very welcoming from her arrival. They have shown attention to her preferences and ways of doing things which has helped her to settle into her new home. Yesterday the manager and staff helped me to celebrate her 90th birthday on the lawn with some other friends. We enjoyed a stunning location on a beautiful day with a table set for us all and decorated for the occasion and the kitchen staff had made a marvellous cake for us all to enjoy. Mum has a great en-suite room, it is not a huge space but adequate for her needs. She has a lovely view out of the window onto a huge lawn surrounded by trees and shrubbery. The staff have all been attentive and professional and very approachable. There are daily activities, a group lunch and lots of areas inside and outside where I can sit and properly talk with my mother one-to-one. She is happy and this is a joy to see, thank you.

My mother has been a resident at The Old Vicarage Care Home since August 2018. She is now 94. She has been very happy for the past six years with all her comforts and familiar things around her, a lovely green space and garden area to look out on from her chair, and a well-equipped and functional ensuite bathroom. The weekly menu is varied and nutritional. She feels safe and secure, and often says to me that 'I am so lucky to be here and I am looked after so well', her cognitive and mobility abilities are lessening now (her eyesight is very poor) and the staff continue to be there to bring her the extra support, love, care and continuity that she needs, and they help her with her daily personal care and needs, as well as administer her medications. The staff are always on hand whenever I need to speak to them, and they are helpful, reassuring, and caring. My worries are immediately put at ease and I continue to feel reassured that Mum is being looked after so well.
