Mum has been at Ridgegate for several years and has always been happy and well looked after. Staff are very attentive to her needs especially now that she suffers from dementia and can be quite confused.

Mum has been in Ridgegate for 4 years and we are very pleased with the standard of care, the attitude and attentiveness of the staff and the general homely atmosphere. Mum feels safe and cared for and we are very grateful that staff are always ready to help with even the little but important things and talk to me about how she is getting on e.g. medication, food intake and whether she can take part in the many activities that the Home puts on. After a dicey two years at home where Mum became increasingly unable to care for herself, I was very relieved and grateful to find a place where I can visit anytime and feel mum's in good hands.

Overall Experience

My mum originally went into Ridgegate in May 2023 for respite due to having several hospital stays for falls. The whole family were welcomed in and Mum was very happy. All of the staff were extremely caring towards Mum and my family. They kept me informed about Mum. I was fortunate that the home was local to me, so I could visit a lot. Whenever I or my children went, we were always met by a smile and a hello. Mum made some lovely friends with the other residents. Sadly Mum passed away in December. The staff could not have done more to help keep Mum in her room/at home through this difficult period rather than going into the hospital. They were supportive and kind and looked after my mum and my family until the end. Ridgegate is a very special place with special caring staff.

Staff have been approachable and cooperative, are helpful and professional. Food is always well presented and residents who require assistance with meals are given the time required to be able to enjoy their meal at a pace that is right for them.

Ridgegate is a warm and homely environment that reflects on the residents and gives visitors a pleasurable experience visiting the home.

I stayed for a week following a hip operation. All staff were courteous, kind and friendly. The food was nicely presented and very nutritious. The care home had a very homely feel to it. Would thoroughly recommend for either short or long-term stay.

Mum has been at Ridgegate for just over a year now and I am so pleased she has had the opportunity to make this her home. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and positive. I can't fault the service and care Mum is receiving, it gives the whole family comfort knowing she is happy and well looked after.

Overall Experience

Mum was with Ridgegate for about 4 years and was very happy there. The staff are great fun and the place has a really homely friendly feel to it. Carers really got to know mum well and I felt a strong sense of genuine affection for mum from several of the staff there. Mum was very upset to not return there after a stroke. It was home.
