Blair House

Visited for the first time in a year, and the changes have been incredible. The home is clean, bright and cheerful. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I was offered a drink instantly. I understand the home has a new manager, and they have obviously made a lot of difference. I could see all the residents were looked after really well, staff and residents were happy and sociable. The home had a really good vibe.

We are very happy to have found this home as it's nice and small.

A friendly place, excellent food and in general, the care is good. The manager couldn't be any better, going that extra mile. I don't have much contact with the deputy manager, but she carries out her duties efficiently. In spite of being so very busy, the carers are kind and there whenever necessary. The medication is given at the appropriate time and there is somebody there until it has been taken. Some carers are better than others but that is only to be expected.

I am very impressed with all the carers. They have shown my husband, love and a lot of care, all the time he has been at the home. These last few weeks he has been very poorly but all care and attention were given to him with a lot of dignity.

The home looks clean and homely. I have not been inside because of lockdown. The gardens and conservatory are pleasant and enjoyed by residents. I can't say about some things as COVID has occurred. It is a well run and caring home.

During the 6 years, I have been at Blair House I've been very happy and treated with much kindness and much help. All the staff are very friendly and I think of them as my second family. There is so much going on here that I really enjoy and I love all the entertainment etc. I try to take part in all the activities thank you.

I find it relaxing, the staff are nice caring for my mum and dad. I get on well with the residents and they get on with my dad.

I'm very satisfied. I like the staff they are helpful and obliging. I like my room and getting lots of tea.

Staying at Blair House has been an experience. Wonderful place to be. The staff are great, kind and dedicated to their job. Rooms are a good size, with an en-suite bathroom in some of them. Also, there are shower rooms and a bathroom with an electric shower chair for people who can't walk very well. The meals are all fresh. Such a great place for care or respite.

My old friend's family live abroad, his companion had died and he was living alone with 'care'. When he had a minor fire, his evening carer found Blair House who took him in at once. His improvement has been truly marvellous in just three months. He accepts loss of 'freedom', is now clean and well-dressed, his beard trimmed, he no longer drinks alcohol and has put on weight. Most of all he responds to the care and laughter of the staff.

This is not only my thinking, it is also that of the family (daughter, son and grandchildren).

The home has become a lot cleaner in the last three months from when my mum was being looked after. Things are better. This is my last review of the home as my mum passed away at the end of May. Still, need work done on the home but the staff and management are better. The management still needs more support and money spent on the home.

My partner came to Blair House from Northampton. I cannot praise the manager and staff enough. Their care and kindness was fabulous. It was like home from home. Always offered tea/coffee/lunch etc - nothing was too much trouble. I am only sorry my partner had to leave due to his aggressive behaviour but I shall always be grateful for the kind care and attention given. It is a very happy place!

Very happy with the care provided.

Just returned from visiting my uncle at Blair House. It was a huge relief and pleasure to see how well he is being cared for. Staff are very friendly and management is very helpful.

Found staff very welcoming. They are good with residents, always offer refreshments on arrival, and if they are there for a while, will offer more refreshments.

They leave you to visit in peace, but they are at hand if you need them.

The manager and staff were always welcoming to visitors. Our father was only at Blair House for six weeks (he died), so this review can only be brief.

The staff are all wonderful, helpful, compassionate and understanding. They give care and support to both residents and families in equal measure. There are lots of cuddles which makes the relationship between carers and the residents more like close family. I can discuss anything with the staff who either advise or just listen and sympathise.

Very pleasant and helpful staff, always a smile on their faces. The residents seem happy.
