All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. The care provided is first class and there are many activities to participate in if required.

The dedication, care and love that the staff showed to my father went beyond the call of duty, Nothing was too much trouble even when his condition worsened without hesitation I would recommend Autumn Lodge. The food was wonderful and the activities were varied and fun, especially when the alpacas came in. Dad's room was spacious and clean and safety measures were taken very seriously. It is a very well-led, professional outfit. For an independent care home, it pinches well above its weight. All who work there, whether care assistant, cook or cleaners are an absolute credit to their profession.

My family and I were signposted to Autumn Lodge this summer as we were looking for a fabulous care home for our father who has dementia. When we visited ahead of Dad's arrival, we thought there was a lovely, homely feel, the residents looked happy and there were lots of activities on offer. Dad's room was also super. My father arrived at Autumn Lodge quite poorly and was so brave as he was moving from his own home environment where he had lived independently on his own for such a long time. Autumn Lodge gave my Dad a real chance and with their kindness, expertise, and real person-centred care, Dad was nursed back to good health. The Team at Autumn Lodge has all made a huge difference to Dad's recovery and well-being, including the resident dogs, which Dad adores. The Manager is so approachable and responsive, and her Team speaks very highly of her. I don't think words can convey how grateful we are for Autumn Lodge and 5 stars just doesn't seem enough for such an outstanding service.

Mum only got to stay three months at Autumn Lodge before she passed away but she loved it there, I wish we had got her in sooner. I cannot give enough praise to the manager and her amazing team for the care they give to all their residents, so much so that two of the staff even came to Mum's funeral which was very touching. The building is a converted grand old house, Mum's room was enormous with beautiful big windows and high ceilings, she adored it. It is an unpretentious establishment that is informal and friendly, with two dogs waddling around and a good kitchen which works hard to tailor the food to each resident. Mum loved all the activities in the lounge or just sitting in the garden in the sunshine nattering away. It was such an enormous relief to the family to know that she was somewhere where she felt safe and cared for when she could no longer cope at home. I can't rate Autumn Lodge highly enough, it's not flashy, just homely and full of love.

Wow, what a lovely review from an equally lovely family. We are so sad that we didn't get to have your lovely mother with us long term but she made a massive impact on all the staff equally in the home and she is sadly missed. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time still in what I am sure is a very tough time for you all as a family, it really does mean a lot to me and my team.

My mother, aged 92 years, came to Autumn Lodge for two weeks of respite care whilst I took a holiday - she has never been to a home before. The staff made her very welcome. The home is comfortable and clean, and the food was pleasant and plentiful. A proper home from home. My mum has been talking about her holiday and what a great time she had and hopes she can return again.

I searched CQC reviews before placing my Mum at Autumn Lodge 2 years ago. During her stay Mum has been very happy with all aspects of the home's care and activities. My father died of dementia 5 years ago in another care home where he was very unhappy - it's such a shame that my Mum didn't hear about Autumn Lodge back then, which would have improved his end of life had he been accepted. I live 3 hours away from Bognor and try to visit my Mum every month but this is not always possible. Each time I visit the staff are always friendly and helpful, especially during the Covid months. I can't praise highly enough the management and her team of dedicated carers, they all deserve my sincere thanks and respect. To know your mother is in such good hands and where nothing is too much trouble for the staff is a blessing, giving peace of mind to relatives. I would highly recommend Autumn Lodge and am so pleased that Mum got to spend her final days there. Kindness is everything.

Being one of eight siblings it can’t be easy for Autumn Lodge to deal with questions/queries from us all, but they do and do it well. Our mum has now been diagnosed as “end of life” and the care and comfort Autumn Lodge are showing for her is excellent. Cannot speak highly enough about Autumn Lodge staff, compassion, empathy, and dignity in the handling of our mum. Management set a good example to staff.

Autumn Lodge is a well-run small family-friendly care home. The manager and deputy manager are excellent and very approachable as are all staff. They are very supportive of residents and their families in these covid times. The manager and staff deal with any issues relating to mum in an open and honest way, and I am kept fully up to date when issues arise discussing them with me before any action is taken. The manager ensures staff are kept up to date on the latest issues and best practices. I am very pleased mum is living at Autumn Lodge and have no concerns so am more than happy to recommend it.

Friendly and caring team many of which are still working at the care home from the days when my Dad was a resident. Mum is being well looked after and settled. Kept well informed during the covid period and every effort was taken to support access when allowed.

Mother's health has been deteriorating for the last few months which has required almost constant care from the Management and staff at Autumn Lodge. The consideration and compassion shown to Mother, myself, and my siblings appears to know no bounds. As a family we consider ourselves so very fortunate to have chosen Autumn Lodge for Mother once it was realised she was no longer able to look after herself.

Mum made the huge decision to move to a care home, as she has a macular condition and is almost blind. She was finding everyday tasks on her own a real challenge. We contacted Autumn Lodge for a virtual tour. A member of staff showed me around and answered all my questions. I was then able to look around in person following all the covid precautions. The manager was so efficient, friendly, and professional but very approachable. Mum was offered a beautiful ground floor, en suite room with patio doors straight out into the garden, which was important to mum as she had always spent many happy hours pottering and sitting in her own garden. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, they have all made mum's transition so happy and anxiety-free with their caring approach. She has made new friends and loves to join in all the activities or entertainment. It is so reassuring knowing mum is being looked after so well. Thank you, Autumn Lodge.

My friend has been so happy at Autumn Lodge. We did not think he would have been here now, he was in such a poorly state when he went into this home. All the staff are complete angels. So caring. The home has no smells about it, only the wonderful variety of food on offer, what a choice they have. They have had no covid in the home and the safety of the residents is so important to the management and staff. They have different little clubs for the residents and lots of entertainment going on. A lot of stress taken from me, angels all of them.

This is a very caring and homely residence.

The pandemic has brought many challenges for all, with extra emphasis on those working within the elderly care sector. I have felt very confident that management and staff have dealt with the difficulties admirably. Swift lockdown measure put in place and regular updates have helped to alleviate any concerns.

Having put myself into Autumn Lodge for a little TLC as I was finding things really difficult, due to my balance etc, it was like being in a great hotel. The staff could not have been kinder and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great! The only downside for me personally was most of the residents were suffering from short term memory loss, or dementia, so it was not easy to be able to have a chat to anyone, except the lovely staff, who I soon realised were extremely busy. A great experience.

Management responsive and helpful, staff very caring. Rooms always clean and tidy, Mother always well presented i.e., clean clothes, hair brushed and styled. Home is warm and food always on time and well coomd and good quality. Activities could be more varied on a daily basis - perhaps those more able getting more small group time with different activity coordinators. On the whole a safe environment for my Mother.
