My mother moved to St George’s Lodge last May, she left her beloved Norfolk to move to be nearer the family. The change was enormous for Mum. The staff have been very patient and kind, allowing Mum to settle at her own pace. One member of staff even got library books about Norfolk for Mum to read.
Mum has a lovely room, which is kept very clean. The decor throughout the home is modern and of a very high standard.
The carers have really tried hard to enable Mum to feel part of the St George’s community, and I can confidently say that she now is happy and content.
I have been very satisfied with how Covid compliant the team has been during these difficult times.
I have not rated the food 5-stars as Mum is often not keen, as a great cook herself, she comments on the food often, apparently the curry, cream cakes and fish and chips are great - praise indeed.

As a Social Worker of 25-years, I have visited 100’s of care homes and feel very confident that Mum is living in one of the best.

The last two years have been difficult for everyone, but nothing compared to the staff that have looked after the residents in the home. They, as with others on the front line, deserve medals in recognition of the outstanding service that they have supplied. Through thick and thin, they still manage a joke and are always smiling - they are an outstanding bunch of people, who I shall be forever in their debt for keeping my mother and all the residents safe.
St George’s is warm, welcoming and a pleasure to visit. The food is excellent with beautiful homemade cakes on offer, wine or fortified wine if you want, as well. The rooms are like home from home.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home, might even reserve myself a room; hopefully, that will be a few years down the line though!

Basically, great staff, great atmosphere, great food, kind and loving staff who really care about the residents.

I spent a few months respite at St George's Lodge; I had a lovely room. The carers were very kind and helped me with my rehab. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I felt safe and was very happy there.

My mum went into St George's Lodge earlier in the year when it became impossible to look after her at home. From the very first day, we went to view the room, we were extremely impressed with the friendly staff, the cleanliness and decor of the rooms and the overall atmosphere.
As Mum's health deteriorated and her needs became more and more pressing, the staff could not have been kinder or more professional - including keeping my Dad and I informed on a regular basis when we couldn't see her due to the lockdown.

I have had dealings with many care homes over the last few years, and can honestly say that St George's Lodge is exceptional in every respect. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My sister was a resident of St George's care home for around five years, until her death in October 2019. During this time, the care given to her was consistently good. She was very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely meals. Despite her many health and mobility issues, she was treated with patience and care. Ample attention was given to the residents by providing a range of indoor and outdoor activities. It was very reassuring for our family to know that she was in safe and caring hands.

I have attended St George’s Lodge on a few occasions now to help out at events, and we also attended with two therapy ponies. The staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and happy. The care of the residents is exceptionally good. The quality of food is fantastic. A lot of effort seems to go into ensuring the residents to have plenty of things to participate in. The decor is modern and clean.

My mother went into St George's Lodge in May 2019 after a couple of falls meant she was unable to take care of herself. She was met with friendly and attentive staff as well as very involving social care. Everyone at the home was incredibly friendly and attentive and I cannot fault the facilities or the treatment my mother received in any way whatsoever. Mum, unfortunately, died in September, but right up to the end received the best care imaginable. I would not hesitate to recommend St George's to anyone seeking a restful and comfortable home.

Having just received several photographs of my sister taking part and enjoying the various activities provided goes to confirm how well she is looked after and how happy and contented she is in St Georges. She has a pleasant en-suite room, gets on well with the staff, loves the food and recently has been able to enjoy the visiting dogs. Well done St Georges and thank you.

What a find! We have been well supported through a very difficult stage of a life changing situation. Staff could not have been more welcoming and the care could not have been better and as a result our decision to move our loved one to residential care here has been the best we could have made. Thank you!

My Mum was placed in here for respite care whilst my Dad was recovering in hospital. Mum was then made a permanent resident due to Dad passing and I was worried how she would be in a new environment with strangers looking after her.
She soon settled and started to feel comfortable with her surroundings. She has been told she can change the room round if she wants too.
The staff are caring and kind and are always willing to help mum.
If there are any problems they will contact me and try their best to resolve.
After Dads passing they offered to cater for the wake and offered us the lounge for our family and friends to gather after. They made everyone feel comfortable. The food was very fresh and nice.

Overall I feel that St Georges is a warm and caring place that not only tries to make its residents feel like it is their home and not just a care home that helps with their care, it also helps make the relatives feel happy knowing that their family members are being looked after.

From day one St Georges Lodge was like a home to my Dad and his family. We instantly felt at home at St Georges and the staff made us feel all part of the family. For my Fathers 100th Birthday, the home held a lovely party with great food, birthday cake and decorations. My Dad was able to celebrate his birthday with his four best friends at the home and friends and family were all invited. Staff even came in on their day off!

St Georges always went above and beyond their duty's. I am partially disabled and find it hard to get out and about. Staff at the home were always happy to get bits of shopping for my Father and run errands that I couldn't manage to do myself.

Sadly Dad passed away last month but the care he received at end of life was excellent. The home agreed to hold his wake at St Georges so all of his friends could attend. We are very grateful that Dad had such a lovely send off!

When I first walked into St George's Lodge I felt a warm homely feeling. Nan receives loving, caring care, and is treated with dignity. The staff make time to sit and chat (and as nan likes) share a joke or 2.
I am always made to feel welcome and am regularly informed of any concerns etc...
Since nan moved in 3 months ago her health, mentally and physically has improved greatly. It's respected if nan wants her own space at times, however, they are encouraged to keep sociable.
Staff speak to residents to get ideas of what they would like to do, nan really enjoyed the cream tea trip!
Families can visit as often as they want including grandchildren and pet dogs.
Her room is a perfect size, beautifully decorated and always clean. It's arranged how she feels comfortable adding her own personal possessions.
Kitchen staff communicate with residence and work really hard producing delicious home cooked food they enjoy.

St George's Lodge is perfect for a homely and family atmosphere with the reassurance they are in the best caring hands.

Very friendly home, staff are great, residents (some over 100 years old) are very friendly and engaging. This home puts on special events for residents, family and friends, the latest being a jazz event in the garden, which was well supported, with great food and drink and a good band. Pity the rain came down to spoil the party, but that's the way it is during a British summer!

My Mum spent seven happy months at St. George's Lodge. I remember the first day she arrived here from the hospital she was so happy and said "I'm Home!" because that is the way she felt. The staff at St. George's have been wonderful and taken care of her every need. My mother has not always been the most patient of people and could, at times, be quite rude to the staff. She didn't mean to be, it was just the way she was and her age. Everyone here has been most kind and treated her with great respect and dignity. I would sincerely recommend St George's to anyone looking to find a care home of this quality.

We chose St George's Lodge as I used to work there and knew how good it is. Mum has settled well and is getting used to life in a care home. Dad visits twice a week who is also in a wheelchair and the staff are great with him. Would recommend to anyone looking for a friendly care home.
