All staff very friendly and helpful when needed.
Only point of dissatisfaction is that clothes we have brought in I have had to sew names into, but I was repeatedly advised that there should be tags for clothing for each resident's room.
Thank you for your feedback, this is valuable in helping us improve our services. We are sorry to hear about the experience with our tagging system, we will ensure this is dealt with immediately. Our apologies for any distress this may have caused you.
My brother has been a resident in Heathfield for over a year now, after suffering a stroke. He has nothing but praise for the care he has received right from the beginning. He tells me that the staff are very caring and that the chef always produces excellent meals. The staff are welcoming when we visit and the home feels friendly and beautifully kept. Communication is good and I am always kept well informed about my brother's health. I would definitely recommend this care home. It is well run and it is reassuring to know that it is run on a not-for-profit basis, with excellent management.
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. It is very valuable to all staff as these kind of words boost staff moral.
Heathfield is quite a small care home and therefore the staff know the residents well. The staff are friendly and very caring and always happy to spend time with the residents and chat. They are quick to spot any health issues and act upon them. The food is of good quality and menus vary with a good choice of meals each day. The standard of cleanliness is high and there always seems to be a cleaner working throughout the day. Activities are arranged on weekdays varying from musicians from outside, films, crafts, chair exercises etc. Residents always appear well looked after and well dressed.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and kind words about our home, your time to complete a review is appreciated.
Excellent standard of care and commitment to all the residents. A wonderful team runs Heathfield and I have never had any worries about any issues I may have raised as everything is acted upon straight away with always full information passed to me. I would recommend Heathfield without reservation. Everyone is wonderful.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and kind words about our home.
It gave as peace of mind while away on holiday.
She was able to have her hair done and the option of joining in with activities.
She would be happy to stay there again.
Thank you for the kind words about our home. We are grateful for this feedback!
Home was comfortable and staff were caring. Food was plentiful, appropriate and very good. My mother was on respite for about four weeks with a view to becoming a permanent resident. Unfortunately, my mother's health deteriorated and communication with the family was not good. Management assumed my mother was showing signs of dementia; in fact her heart was failing and she had periods of delirium. Despite requests for my mother to be seen by her GP, this did not happen and she ended up going to A&E, she was admitted and sadly died. This may have been inevitable but better understanding of her condition and better communication with her GP and family would have helped.
My 92-year-old aunt came to stay for respite with a view to permanent residency. Just a few days into her stay unfortunately there was a short lockdown. Sadly this is affected her mentally as she was confined to her room. The staff were brilliant but despite their best efforts she lost the will to live, and died peacefully in her sleep. It was very sad as I'm certain she would have really enjoyed some fun and company at Heathfield.
Despite difficult conditions due to the pandemic, the staff were very helpful when we were looking for a new home for my father. On his arrival, they were very welcoming and very organised with respect to things like medication and diet. My father has been thoughtfully looked after in his final few weeks and a sensitive care plan for him put together.
She loves the company and the excellent meals, even these seem to cater for individual likes and dislikes.
The staff are helpful and professional and I don't believe we could find a better place for her - she has extended her stay twice so far!
It's good to find somewhere that you trust the people to look after someone you love.
Heathfield is an excellent, well managed residential care home with well trained and caring staff. Sadly my mother did not appreciate all this and terminated her two week trial period after three nights. I was impressed by the standards of cleanliness and the efforts made to include residents in activities.
The care provided to my aunt was excellent and her time at Heathfield was a great improvement and a happy time for her. The care is with respect, kindness and dignity and is a shining example to the caring sector.
My mother needed extra care at Christmas time last year and we were lucky enough to find a respite room at Heathfield. She settled in well and decided to make it her permanent home. As a family, we couldn't ask for better love and care that she is receiving. She is always busy with a well-structured activities team and nothing is too much trouble. The chef provides well-cooked interesting meals with delicious homemade cakes etc.
Heathfield may not be spacious or modern and probably struggle for lack of any updated equipment but they certainly do a good job from my eyes with what they have.
It would be all our loss without Heathfield.
Went in for respite. Stayed 3 weeks. Felt rested and able to go back home.
Mum stayed for 5 weeks whilst dad was in hospital. She was well looked after. Staff excellent and went to extra lengths to make sure mum was happy and comfortable. Thank you, Heathfield.
After a fall I was needing care and respite I knew of Hesthfirld and was able to stay for 2 weeks a good experience even if unexpected.
Every care and attention was excellent, also food and cleanliness. Very nice ensuite room.
Will be returning for future respite care in August and September 2018.
Heathfield was a great choice! The whole place was clean, my room modern, bright and spotless! The food was good, with choices available, all cooked from fresh on the premises.
The staff were amazing, kind and very helpful, friendly and made me feel at home. The icing on the cake was a beautiful garden, well laid out (with handrails) and well maintained.
My mother has been in Heathfield for a month for respite care following 2 heart attacks. I can;t fault the care and cleanliness. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and visitors are always made welcome. The rooms are warm, cosy and the furniture is all in excellent condition, This is our first experience of a care home and we are really impressed. Would thoroughly recommend.
