Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd offers a relaxing homely residential environment for older adults with care needs, available for permanent and respite stays. Well located for nearby amenities such as the Town and Horsham Park, their aim is to provide a safe, comfortable home where friends and family are always welcome and where residents are able to remain fully independent.

The home has a lounge for socialising, together with an air-conditioned conservatory with an activities area for daily arts and crafts or organised events. A walled garden with pleasant seating areas, while modern care equipment such as assisted bathing facilities also adds to customer satisfaction.

Regular outings and entertainment are organised as part of the service, with an active lifestyle crucial to the home's long-term aims.

A full laundry service is provided without extra charge and a newspaper delivery service exists for residents who wish to buy newspapers or magazines. Services such as chiropody and hairdressing are available on a regular basis on the premises. Shopping is carried out on a monthly basis for residents should they require it.

An additional feature is short-stay rooms for those requiring full board and care for a short period only. This would benefit persons currently cared for in their own home, requiring a short break or considering moving to a home, but want a trial visit.

Excellent standard of care and commitment to all the residents. A wonderful team runs Heathfield and I have never had any worries about any issues I may have raised as everything is acted upon straight away with always full information passed to me. I would recommend Heathfield without reservation.
Everyone is wonderful.

Mother in law was very happy during her week respite stay, the staff were all welcoming and friendly.
It gave as peace of mind while away on holiday.
She was able to have her hair done and the option of joining in with activities.
She would be happy to stay there again.

Home was comfortable and staff were caring. Food was plentiful, appropriate and very good. My mother was on respite for about four weeks with a view to becoming a permanent resident. Unfortunately, my mother's health deteriorated and communication with the family was not good. Management assumed my
mother was showing signs of dementia; in fact her heart was failing and she had periods of delirium. Despite requests for my mother to be seen by her GP, this did not happen and she ended up going to A&E, she was admitted and sadly died. This may have been inevitable but better understanding of her condition and better communication with her GP and family would have helped.

My 92-year-old aunt came to stay for respite with a view to permanent residency. Just a few days into her stay unfortunately there was a short lockdown. Sadly this is affected her mentally as she was confined to her room. The staff were brilliant but despite their best efforts she lost the will to live,
and died peacefully in her sleep. It was very sad as I'm certain she would have really enjoyed some fun and company at Heathfield.

Despite difficult conditions due to the pandemic, the staff were very helpful when we were looking for a new home for my father. On his arrival, they were very welcoming and very organised with respect to things like medication and diet. My father has been thoughtfully looked after in his final few
weeks and a sensitive care plan for him put together.

My mum really enjoys staying at Heathfield for respite care, the keyword is care - she feels looked after and treated as an individual.
She loves the company and the excellent meals, even these seem to cater for individual likes and dislikes.

My mother who is in her nineties and lives independently came here for two weeks respite after an eye operation in mid-June. She has been treated with nothing but warmth, kindness and patience during her stay. The room, food and facilities are excellent.
The staff are helpful and professional and I
don't believe we could find a better place for her - she has extended her stay twice so far!
It's good to find somewhere that you trust the people to look after someone you love.

Heathfield is an excellent, well managed residential care home with well trained and caring staff. Sadly my mother did not appreciate all this and terminated her two week trial period after three nights. I was impressed by the standards of cleanliness and the efforts made to include residents in activities.

My mother needed extra care at Christmas time last year and we were lucky enough to find a respite room at Heathfield. She settled in well and decided to make it her permanent home. As a family, we couldn't ask for better love and care that she is receiving. She is always busy with a well-structured
activities team and nothing is too much trouble. The chef provides well-cooked interesting meals with delicious homemade cakes etc.

It is hard to review when you are not there all the time but from the 'outside looking in' this is a very happy and kind place, my aunt is content. All the staff are Angels and let's face it, they are the care home and make it what it is.
Heathfield may not be spacious or modern and probably struggle
for lack of any updated equipment but they certainly do a good job from my eyes with what they have.
It would be all our loss without Heathfield.

Heathfield was a great choice! The whole place was clean, my room modern, bright and spotless! The food was good, with choices available, all cooked from fresh on the premises.

The staff were amazing, kind and very helpful, friendly and made me feel at home.
The icing on the cake was a beautiful

garden, well laid out (with handrails) and well maintained.

My mother has been in Heathfield for a month for respite care following 2 heart attacks. I can;t fault the care and cleanliness. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and visitors are always made welcome. The rooms are warm, cosy and the furniture is all in excellent condition, This is our first
experience of a care home and we are really impressed. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thankfully arrived at Heathfield p.m. Xmas Eve after needing to leave a clinic when they closed at midday until 4/1/16. Happy to return there, having stayed in 2011 - welcomed by the same warm hearted home, many of the same staff - same chef. Food still very good including traditional xmas dinner. Very
pleasant homely care home with excellent staff. Would be my personal choice above all others in Horsham if I needed to consider permanent residential care.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.262)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.262) out of 10 for Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.590 for Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.59
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.672 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.972
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
