Highgrove Care Home is the most wonderful place and I cannot recommend it highly enough; from the warm welcome at the front door to the beautiful individual rooms and the caring, compassionate nature of every member of the dedicated staff. When my mum came here just over a year ago she settled in quickly, loving every moment and joining in with the daily activities and making new friends. She laughed a lot and was happy; something that was, for my sisters and I, a joy to behold. When she had a devastating stroke in early November, the love, kindness and professionalism with which they nursed her through her final days was second to none. My sisters and I will be forever grateful that we found this wonderful place for our beloved Mum to live even though it was for such a short time.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. The staff treated my mother with nothing but respect and care. She loved being there and the staff truly loved her too. My mother passed away in November during the Covid pandemic (from non-related issues) and the staff did absolutely everything they could to make her final days memorable for all the right reasons.
More than that they treat relatives brilliantly too. I was always met with the offer of cake and a cup of tea or coffee and while my mum was slowly leaving us all, they looked after myself and my sister like we were residents ourselves.
They sent photos and videos of my mum taking part in activities and handled the whole pandemic with care and sensitivity. Their communication was excellent and the direct input from the owners made it all the more personal.

The rooms are well-appointed, large and bright and my mother had a lovely en-suite bathroom. It was just like a beautiful caring home.

My mother was much happier after I moved her to Highgrove House, inside its so homely and comfortable like the hotels she stayed in with her late husband. She was well cared for, treated kindly. The food was really good and she enjoyed taking part in most activities. She was fond of her carers, patiently staff engaged and chatted. The few issues I had were handled and dealt with professionally by the manager.

My mother was a resident here for 6 years, up to her death. We compared with 3 other homes, and only one came close. The main reasons for the choice was home cooked food and the activities on offer. Frankly, I assumed she would be there less than 6 months, but whilst they can't work miracles, good personalised care led to her getting stronger and hence the few extra years.

They were ALWAYS welcoming to visitors. They did a very good job of sensitively making me aware that she was in a decline that might lead to her passing. It certainly felt like the staff did genuinely care for the residents as well as meeting practical needs.

I have seen a policy of continuous improvement in the building over the years and I gather more is to come.

How very pleased we were that we chose Highgrove House for my mother when the time came due to her mild dementia and mobility. We had been recommended to view Highgrove but decided to view several other homes as well.
The atmosphere is warm and homely with a five star hotel service. The staff are always caring, calm and efficient.
My mother enjoys the many activities on offer and the company of the other guests when she's wants to and loves sitting in the beautiful conservatory.

I would thoroughly recommend Highgrove.

My mother moved to Highgrove House at the end of 2017.
She is very appreciative of the care and kindness she has received, as I am too.

I cannot compliment the staff enough.

I was shown around this care home and asked my opinion, I said I liked room 10 and within an hour I was moved in. I have no regrets about being here, it's like a 4-star hotel!

My Mother has been at Highgrove care home for around 15 months. On the whole, she has been happy there. The staff, in particular, do a wonderful job in looking after the residents. Some of the staff have been working there for many years. Nothing is too much trouble, though I do feel they are overstretched sometimes and expected to do things that are perhaps outside their remit. Eg cooking meals, shopping for food. Visitors are always made very welcome and there are activities and events for the residents to join in. The new owners seem to be doing some refurbishment which is welcome as some of the home had started to look a little shabby in places. My Mother has some issues with the food particularly at the weekends when there doesn't seem to be a designated cook. There also seems to be a few issues with the cleaning lately. However, I feel happy that Mum is well cared for and above all safe. There is always a nice homely atmosphere when I visit.

We moved mum to Highgrove in May 2017 as her previous home closed with little warning. From our first viewing on a Saturday, all the staff could not have been more helpful, reassuring, attentive and polite. On the day of mum's arrival, her room had been completely redecorated and felt like home from home. The staff went out of their way to make mum feel "at home" as they still do now.

We as a family are very thankful to all the staff involved in her care.

My mother has been a resident for some years now and the staff have always been caring - I did my research on this site. The home has been well maintained and indeed improved during her time there. Variety of activities and the food is cooked on site - the comment was made that good food was one of the few blessings that could still be enjoyed as much by residents as outsiders. When visiting I am always warmly greeted and offered tea or coffee.

Highgrove House is a truly 5 star nursing home. The building is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, the staff are amazing and the food is delicious. I have attended many friends and family functions and am always impressed at the lovely family feel of the place too. Every time I have visited during the day there has been some sort of activity going on and residents can also visit Highgrove's beach hut on Goring seafront which is just lovely for families to take their loved one out to. I know people who have used both the day care and residential services and both are excellent.
