My mother lived at Koinonia for four years and during that time she was cared for with such love, kindness and dignity by the wonderful team. She especially enjoyed the food, particularly the puddings! Whenever I visited, I always found Koinonia to be a peaceful, warm and genuinely caring environment, with a Christian ethos. The values of kindness, compassion and respect were clearly reflected in the way everyone was cared for. Being offered a drink during my visits was such a thoughtful touch. Communication with relatives was excellent and I was always kept informed about everything that was happening regarding my mum's care. My mum lived with dementia during her final years and recently went to be with the Lord. The compassion and support shown to our family during such a difficult time was a real blessing and deeply appreciated. I can wholeheartedly recommend Koinonia; John and the whole team do an exceptional job and I will always be grateful for the care my mum received there.

I found Koinonia for my dad with Alzheimer's after living a year at home with a live in carer after the passing of my mum. What a wonderful difference in the type of care and support! Dad has been in Koinonia since January 2026. This home has the most warmest, friendliest feel to it, the support from the staff for my dad and myself is wonderful! The food is amazing and my dad does like to eat! A real family atmosphere and a home from home with the added advantage of the Christian atmosphere and spiritual guidance.

Thank you all at Koinonia for looking after my dad and the continued support!

I found the rest home in excellent condition with staff all caring they look after residents of varying ages and conditions of health. My only concern was the meals I felt they could have been of a better standard.

Koinonia became dad's home for a short time. We could not of been happier with the Koinonia family. The staff were amazing with dad. He always enjoyed his food and there was a great personal touch between all staff and dad. There always appeared to be something going on in the lounge for the family members. We enjoyed sharing the services on a Sunday morning with dad. We are very grateful to all staff for looking after dad whilst he was with them until he went to be with his Lord in Glory.

My mother was in the excellent care of the Koinonia team for 5.9 years. Her care from the moment of admission to her death in June 2025 was exemplary. The team led by the manager have, many times, gone above and beyond.
She was treated with respect, gentleness, kindness and great affection. The staff displayed a great deal of perseverance and patience on a daily basis.
I received updates as and when necessary.
The Christian ethos was reflected in their care.
The manager has created a team he should be proud of, for which he should be congratulated.
I too received friendly conversations and many a cup of tea, for which I was always very grateful!

I thank the Lord for His provision. I continue to pray for God's richest blessings on each and everyone one of you.

My husband who has Alzheimer's became part of the KOINONIA family in June and I am so very happy with the care he is receiving there. The staff always have a smile for everyone and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. He has given the staff some very challenging moments as he settled in but through their Christ centred loving and professional care for him he is now much more at peace in his new environment. The home is a place where the Christian way of life is lived in all its fullness and where my husband can be free to live his life of faith with others who love Jesus. I can't thank the senior care staff enough for helping me navigate this new way of life for my husband, answering my many questions and guiding me along the way. A great big thank you to everyone at KOINONIA for welcoming my husband and I into your family.

The manager made the journey to see my husband whilst he was in Hospital. This I found going beyond the bounds but such a caring thing to do. My husband settled into Koinonia 5 weeks ago and appears very happy. The care and support we both receive is amazing. It is a big weight off my shoulders knowing he is well cared for by the wonderful team there. Being just 10 minutes walk means I can see him often and there's always a welcome from the staff with a cup of tea.

My husband has been in Koinonia for a couple of months following a prolonged stay in hospital. He has since been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This whole process has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. We couldn't have managed without the wonderful staff at Koinonia.
It took him a while to settle and he has been a difficult and demanding resident. The staff seem to be able to look beyond the disease and see the person behind the diagnosis. I am so grateful for all the support we have both received at this warm caring home.
Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to foster a supportive relationship with each resident and their carers.

The senior staff are very knowledgeable and defuse awkward situations with warmth and humour. I am eternally grateful we found our way here - grateful too for the hugs and humour which have made this dreadful experience a little more manageable.

I had the pleasure of entrusting my mother's care to Koinonia Christian Care Home for two years, and I couldn't be more grateful for their exceptional service. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that this wasn't just a care facility - it truly became a home for her. The staff at Koinonia were incredibly friendly and attentive. Over time, my mother developed genuine friendships with many of them, which brought her great joy and comfort. Their dedication created a warm, family-like atmosphere. The Christian ethos of the home was reflected in the compassionate care provided. One of the lovely features of Koinonia is their beautiful garden. As my mother was an avid gardener in her younger years, the presence of the garden added to the homely atmosphere. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Koinonia to anyone seeking a caring, homely environment for their loved ones. The peace of mind knowing my mother was in such good hands was invaluable.

My mother moved in to Koinonia in the Spring and was made to feel very welcome straight away. The care manager and staff there have taken time to get to know Mum and recognise her needs. They have been flexible and respectful but also can see when she might benefit from some gentle encouragement and coaxing. Mum is appreciating and thriving with the Christian input and it is lovely to see her so content. Staff are very accessible and always happy to answer my queries. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home.

Koinonia provides an extremely caring environment, looking after my mother's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs. The care manager and the senior carers take time to explain how my mother is progressing, particularly concerning dementia, which I have not had much experience with. They are very sympathetic and go above and beyond to resolve any issues.
The home is always clean and welcoming.

My mother is considered a family member, rather than a service user.

My father went into Koinonia for emergency respite in December. My mother was taken ill & she was my father’s main carer.
From the moment I met the manager, I had a very blessed feeling the care home was the right place.
My father has been a Christian all of his life. He is surrounded by like-minded people.
My father’s needs to settle in the home were met with outstanding care, attention, and perseverance, from the team. Overcoming issues that in the past, we had not been successful with. I have been amazed!
Staff are always friendly, and attentive & updates are reported efficiently.
My father now seems settled and happy, he is more interactive at times and I see my old father, who has now been in Koinonia for 4 months. I feel he is surrounded by love and care. I am confident he is safe.
So very grateful for the team that has made my father a home. All so important to our family.

Beyond my father - I have also felt care & support from the staff at a very difficult time.

I came for a week's respite while my wife was away because I have Parkinson's disease and need help when my medication wears off. I particularly appreciated the care that I sometimes need at night.
The staff were very attentive and kind.
I attended some of the activities and enjoyed the exercise class but would have liked more. I appreciated the midweek service.
I went to the lounge every day but found it hard to make conversations with the other residents. My daughters live nearby and came to take me for short walks otherwise I wouldn't have had much walking exercise which is important for my condition.

Overall, I was happy with my room and being looked after.
