Woodlands House Care Home Ltd is a fourteen capacity Littlehampton care home, offering a comfortable interior and pleasant surroundings. The small size of the home allows the team to provide a more personalised and bespoke service where they are able to really spend important time with the people who choose to live with them.

Woodlands specialises in dementia care, with experienced, permanent, full-time, qualified carers (employed for up to twenty years at Woodlands!) who are skilled in supporting people to maintain their independence and identities in a safe and supported way.

The home protects the dignity and general well-being of all in involved, at present sourcing fresh and local produce to not only achieve an excellent menu but also to give the maximum benefits of outstanding nutrition.

*** The team are delighted to announce that they are now able to offer Day Care Services 6 days a week from Monday - Saturday ***

Mum was admitted to this specialist dementia care home one year ago following ill health at home and a hospital stay. She has improved incredibly since being at Woodlands House, they have gone to the trouble of getting liquid meds and ensuring that mum takes them. She can wander into the garden when
the weather is good. Following a fall and hip operation recently Woodlands took mum back and she is quite content and doing as well as can be expected with progressing dementia. The carers and staff are brilliant and most have been there for some years.

When my mother went to live at Woodlands House in October last year, she was depressed, underweight, no appetite and very anxious. Since being in the home she has become so contented. She loves the company and always hugs and kisses all the care workers before we go out anywhere. She is also very
happy to go 'home'. The meals she receives are all home cooked and she obviously loves them as she has put on weight and eats very well there. We are welcome to visit at any time without notice and always made to feel welcome. As a family we know mum is safe, secure and happy which has made a huge difference, not just to mum's life, but to all our lives.

I cannot praise Woodlands House more highly.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.111) out of 10 for Woodlands House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.861 for Woodlands House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.861
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands House Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8, which has been reached with 3 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started my caring journey when I was 14 years old. I did my work experience within a Dementia and residential care setting and loved every hour spent there.

When I left school, I worked as a kitchen assistant within a care home and worked my way up to be a senior care team member when I was 18. This quick acceleration through the ranks came about because of my passion for care, and I was a team leader the following year at 19.

By the time I was 20, I was the company’s First aid trainer for 12 different homes. I then developed into an assistant Deputy and went to all other homes to help when situations occurred and to support, guide, and teach best practice and person-centred care.

I have done all NVQs to level five and have been managing homes for over 15 years.

I have also been a Crisis Manager for 9 homes to get the homes to where they should be, with a turnaround within three months.

I had a pause to look after my own mother at home, which gave me a better understanding of relationships with families, as I know first-hand how hard it is with a loved one and difficult choices that need to be made.

Care is hard enough for all involved, so if I can make that difference to anyone, I will do what is needed and won't stop until we are there.

Job Title: Team Leader Care Manager Joined: 2025

I began my career in care during my work experience placement in a dementia and residential care setting, where I discovered my passion for supporting others. This led me to pursue a role as a senior carer, and through dedication and hard work, I was promoted to team leader in a nursing care home.

Currently, I serve as Team Leader Care Manager at Woodlands House, where I combine my leadership skills and hands-on experience to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. Alongside my practical experience, I hold a BSc in nursing and have also gained valuable expertise in the medical IT field, giving me a well-rounded perspective on healthcare delivery and innovation.

So far, my journey in care has been deeply rewarded, and I am committed to fostering compassionate, high-quality care environments.
