My Grandmother and now, late Grandfather have been at Dove Court for nearly a year now. I am always impressed with the staff and how they treat my Grandmother with utmost respect and friendliness.
The Manager has been excellent at ensuring my Grandma is happy - even moving her into a new room to gain a better outlook from her window.
Activities happen regularly including quizzes, sing alongs and even using ipads and residents are encouraged to join in if they are happy to do so.
We can always get in contact when necessary with the home to ensure everything is going well.

Thank you to all staff and Management concerned.

Overall Experience

Both my parents went to Dove Court in Sept 2016 and I was very impressed and obviously happy to see the high standard of care they were given. When Dad passed away in Feb 2017, the love, thought and care given to mum by the manager and all the carers was second to none. Whenever I visit mum I am always greeted with a smile and an update on Mum's welfare. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always very busy, but they make the time to deal with any issues that arise; in fact, I would say they are all excellent at prioritising! I have to travel quite a distance to see mum but I am always confident that she is safe and extremely well cared for.

I have been visiting my mum and dad when he was alive, for almost a year now and whilst most of the carers are lovely there are a few issues that need to be addressed. There are hardly any activities for the residents and these people need stimulation and whilst there are hardly anything for the residents, they live for their televisions which a lot of the time signal is so poor, they have nothing to do and they just sit there which is terrible for them. Perhaps the owners could put their hands in their pockets and get a decent ariel for the home. Perhaps a satellite dish would be a good idea. Mum is not showered or bathed regularly. I have made comments before but to no avail. Do something!

We always find a warm and friendly greeting when entering Dove Court. Quite often there will be one or two residents walking around in my husband's floor who are kindly treated by staff.

The effort put in by staff on an entertainment level for residents and families is to be admired. My husband's room and bathroom are kept very clean. Above all, my husband recently had a fall which was dealt with carefully and professionally in a very calm manner.

My mother has been a resident for 3 years and I cannot fault the home at all. The staff are wonderful, they are polite, very helpful and make me feel assured that my mum is well cared for. Anyone visiting the home can see it is a homely well looked after care home and I would and have recommended it.

My mum has been in Dove Court for 6 months. In that time, she has been given all the care she needs and more.

They have dealt with numerous hurdles and have successfully managed them all. We had a few problems to start with, but due to guilt on our part, for my mum having to go in the home. Dove Court has definitely done more than we ever could have done ourselves.

The staff are very friendly and they appear to care for their patriots as well. The activities for raising money for the residents is very good. The food always looks good but sometimes a little sparse as my mum eats very well. If there is a problem, usually it is all sorted out. The gardens are lovely and well cared for, it appears to be a happy home.

I have been very impressed with the care and friendliness, shown to my mum since she has resided. Not only that, my brother and I have also been made very welcome every visit. The home is kept clean and fresh. All the staff we have come in contact with have been brilliant. Can not fault any aspect of the whole set up.

Mum having to go into care was a very sad time, but all our fears were soon allayed not long after she became a resident in Dove Court Wisbech.
The staff are caring and understanding, especially as mum is now bedridden.
Food and facilities are excellent. Any health issues are acted upon when most needed. Management are very approachable.

Overall I'm more than happy with mums care at Dove Court.

Overall Experience

Dove Court is a welcoming care home which is extremely friendly and professionally managed. The home was starting to undergo redecoration which really freshened up the decor. My relative thoroughly enjoyed her time at the home and particularly commented on the "lovely staff" who cared for her. They always make time to ensure the home is as inviting as possible whether this is for the service users or visitors. The care quality is high with a high proportion staff being very experienced having been in their jobs for many years. We only wish my relative had been able to spend more time at this home.

My dear Dad moved in the day before his 93rd birthday and had a family party on his birthday and another one with the residents the next day. He was made to feel very welcome. He said that he couldn't have been in a better home and told all the family this. He was able to choose his own room and felt really happy with it, having some of his own furniture and memorabilia around him. Unfortunately, he was not with them very long and passed away on 27th September in hospital. I can say that he asked me to take him back to the home as he was missing out on the world and wanted to be joining in with everything going on. When he was taken ill, the home responded very quickly and did all they could to ensure he had the best care.
The staff were always friendly and smiling and nothing was too much trouble for them, they were patient and kind to everyone. it was a happy place.

One day I may need to go in a home and I would certainly be happy in Dove Court.

I started working in care when I was 16 years old. There is nothing like care, it's really rewarding in its own way. Every single day is different and every single day you get that one little lightbulb moment where you are proud of how you have helped improve someone's life.

I started working with Larchwood Care in 2004 as a carer, progressing to senior carer, team leader, deputy manager and then manager. During that time I have achieved and an NVQ level 4 in management and level 3 in health and social care. In 2014 my career brought me to Dove Court as a home manager, covering maternity initially, which turned into the full-time job I have now.
