Keneydon House

The staff were professional, accomodating, caring, and kind. When my father was reaching the end of his life staff were sensitive and professional making sure dad was comfortable and pain-free. They kept us informed and supported us along the way. Thank you Keneydon House!

My mother was admitted to this care home November 2020 - until she passed away June 2021. The staff from management all the way down are absolutely first class, the care, compassion, fondness detail to work they all showed was brilliant even down to the guard of honour they formed when my mother's body was taken away. The only reason I have given some low marks is because the place itself needed some TLC although I have been shown pictures that re-dec has been done so that's brilliant news. My sister has become firm friends with staff that says it all.

My mother has been cared for in this home since 2020 after a very difficult time previously which was not discovered until Christmas 2020 whilst in hospital. On arriving at the home the staff have been absolutely great with her. It has taken patience and understanding as well as smiling faces. She has come out of her shell and is much happier. The staff have had to contend with many challenges protecting my mum from other outside sources. Which will hopefully soon be addressed by law.

My concerns about my nan going into a care home were quickly erased after seeing how welcomed and happy she was. Not being able to visit through Covid was tough but as a family we were often sent updates/photos/videos. Plenty of facetimes too! After spending so long on her own it was clear to see how well and quickly she settled in! Outstanding service provided by the staff at Keneydon House! Pure compassion right through till the end. Highly recommend, thank you!

Very happy with the care and attention that my nan is receiving, she seems extremely happy and content.

Mum was a resident here between November 2020 to June 2021. Mum had vascular dementia and had deteriorated and withrewan. The care the home provided was excellent, Mums speech improved she laughed again and would sing when another resident played the piano. To see her enjoying herself was fantastic, exactly what she needed. The staff were fantastic and made time to be with the residents. I was so grateful she was there and I was able to spend time with her.

I have always found the staff very helpful and very friendly towards both myself and my dad. The staff always accommodate my dad's needs even if it's a sandwich at midnight, nothing is too much trouble. I wouldn't want my dad to go anywhere else.

My sister-in-law could not have received better care. The staff were efficient yet caring and compassionate. She celebrated her 85th birthday while she was a resident in Keneydon House and the staff went that extra mile, baking a cake to be shared by all, and singing happy birthday to her. In her final hours, the staff could not have been more attentive, professional, and caring, and dedicated.

I was very apprehensive about coming to this care home after my last experience at another home. I did not need to worry as from day one all the staff have made my stay comfortable, and I do not feel stressed. They put themselves out to help everyone here, and nothing is to much trouble. From the manager downwards these ladies make life in this home relaxing and comfortable to be part of this environment. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

I am the wife of a resident. He is warm and comfortable. Food is good. If anyone is ill, they are quick to get a medical person to assist. The staff are very pleasant and do a good job. I am welcome to visit any time.

My friend was moved from another home in Whittlesey. This is like a posh hotel compared to the other one. Staff give 110% all the time. Always asked if I would like a coffee. Residents always come first. Rooms spotless. My friend always in clean clothes etc.

My mother has been a resident of Keneydon House for approximately 18 months, and currently, she seems very happy there. Last year the home received a Needs Improvement Rating from the CQC and since that time, they have worked hard on improving that rating and are now Overall Good. The staff that we've met have always seemed kind and caring and we have never had reason to complain. We can't comment on the management team as we normally are only able to visit on weekends as we live 350 miles from the Care Home. Recently the home has been undergoing a face-lift and appears clean and fresh. The residents take part in group activities most days during the week, with occasional trips into the town for the more able. The food served when we have been there always looks to be to a good standard with reasonable portion sizes. Security, in general, is good as we always have to wait to be let in as well as out. Sadly there are no toilet facilities for visitors and often too few staff for the number of residents.

Went to Keneydon House to visit a friend for her birthday. I found her in the lounge dressed and ready to go out, sitting with her friends. I spoke to some of the residents who were being entertained by a member of staff, playing dominoes and the residents were welcome to join in and have help. We were offered tea and made welcome, lunch was being cooked and my friend was made a cake to celebrate. I found the care and attention to residents lovely. They were like family friends, which was great to see.

The home is clean and tidy and everybody is always warm and friendly. The staff are very good with the residents and always seem cheerful.

The carers are extremely caring and really do care about the person they are dealing with at that moment in time. They are very patient and never rush anyone. The carers have a lot of time. They generally are very caring towards the residents.

Well looked after. Laundry done but not ironed. Could do with more activities.

The staff are very caring and good. They really look after their people. The food is also excellent. The cook does a wonderful job.

A small but very caring care home. The residents needs are met and the understanding of dementia throughout.

They were always helpful when we visited, and had time to speak to family and friends.
