The Review Score of 8.6 (maximum of 10) for Woodspring House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Woodspring House in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.944 for Woodspring House is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.944
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 3.607 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodspring House is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 = 3.25
Target of 5.6 positive Reviews (28 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 5.6 Target = 0.357

I would be more than happy to recommend Woodspring house, as I have always found both management and staff to be very caring and understanding of the residents and, very often, their complex needs. Woodspring is home to the residents which is very comforting to me as the wife of a resident.

A friendly, family atmosphere. Smiling carers doing their jobs professionally and efficiently. Direct, personal involvement from the owners backed up by a competent, caring manager. Varied activities and a daily varying menu with options.

My father moved into Woodspring House in February 2015 and he loves it there. The staff are kind caring and helpful at all times. The home is spotlessly clean, the food is excellent, it is always warm. There are lots of activities and trips out to keep him stimulated, they did a thanks giving lunch in November to remind him of his home in America.
The atmosphere in Woodspring House is like a home not a care home, I never have to worry about him because everyone at Woodspring House takes care of him and pays him a lot of attention. I feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful place.

Although this home is quite small compared to other homes, never the less, it is more homely and friendly and it is like a big family. All the carers as well as being very professional in their work are very polite and understanding to the needs of the residents. Also as a visitor to a resident they immediately offer a much welcome " cup of tea" which is appreciated. They have several day trips out which go down very well with the residents, also entertainment when a resident has a birthday etc. The home cooked meals are first class, with a wide variety each day. Visitors are also made very welcome to stay for a meal if they want to.

Thank you for those very kind words. We do our very best to provide a healthy varied diet to suit all the residents needs. Day trips take place but we are not able to take all of the residents without the support from the families. I would like to thank you for your support and the enjoyment you bring to the party days we provide.

My friend has dementia very bad. The staff are brilliant like family to her. My friend cannot eat however they make her a milk shake mix and she is getting all the calories. She is very difficult to wash, dress etc. They are very caring.

Thank you. We do our very best to meet the needs and requirements of all our residents. Thank you for your support through out the difficult times when we were struggling to encourage your friend to eat. We can't thank you enough you gave up most meal times every day to support your friend.
