I would like to offer a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff of this lovely care home. My mum has just passed but, for the last five years was always happy here. She was well cared for and loved right up until the end. Staff enabled her to have a dignified peaceful death for which I will always be grateful.

Thank you everyone.

My wife has been admitted recently so my experience of care is limited, I chose this home after visiting several others. The Laurels general facility of friendliness, and care was far more impressive than the rest. Since then I have met most of the staff who are all very pleasant and caring. (Some more than others but that is under food as we are all efficient).

My mum is a permanent resident at The Laurels having moved there in September from a previous care home. I can honestly say the staff are amazing and so very friendly and that's from the cleaning staff and kitchen workers to everyone I have encountered!! They are all so caring and friendly and very approachable. They all have smiles whenever I visit!

Dad has just spent 3 days also there on respite and the staff all went above and beyond to make him feel welcome for the short time he was there!! Rebecca the manager is so lovely and approachable and always has time to chat. Feel totally comfortable knowing mum is well looked after and cared for. Well done team!

My sibling had originally been in another home that did not meet her needs.
On meeting with home manager Becky i was instantly assured that my family members needs would be met.
My family members needs were met her mental physical health needs as well as supporting her to be able to still go to her church .
Going to church has meant that she has not become isolated as she can still see friends .
The home is clean well maintained the staff are friendly and experienced with there filed .

I would highly recommend

Rebecca went above and beyond to help my Mum when I had to move her back from Spain at short notice and I cannot thank her and her wonderful team enough. My Mum needed respite care whilst waiting for a place to come up at an assisted living facility and the care and attention The Laurels gave her was second to none. In fact when the day came for my Mum to move to the assisted living place, she didn't want ro leave! A massive thank you to all at The Laurels, you all do a marvellous job. Xx

I visited a resident, and a friend, three times during a period of about three weeks. Each time I came to The Laurels I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I could tell that they were aware of my friend's situation and medical issues. My friend felt safe and secure in The Laurels. Thank you to the team.

All the staff at The Laurels are amazing, from management to domestic staff and everyone in between. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming - they feel like a second family. Despite clearly working really hard they always find time to say a few words, give a smile or a hug, or allay any concerns regarding my mum's health or behaviour. I know Mum's in good hands and trust every person who works there. 'Carer' is such a benign title but these people truly care and it's so very appreciated.

Mum is bedridden and has been a resident for well over a year. Standards have improved significantly over the last few months. Staff are genuinely helpful and caring and more importantly, friendly. Used to be difficult to get someone to come to the door to let you in or out but now much improved. Took a while to sort an issue of a resident entering Mum's room and taking her possessions but a pressure mat at the doorway to alert staff has helped.

Most important though is the fact that Mum herself seems happy and contented in the home.

Overall Experience

The staff at the care home are hard-working, caring and supportive towards my brother. Dementia is a horrible disease and to see a member of the family go into demise with it is awful, but knowing that there are people who are trained in the care of these patients gives one peace of mind in the knowledge that all is being done to keep them comfortable, safe and supported in their day to day lives. Personal touches towards residents give them the reassurance to know that carers understand their needs and are there to help them when needed. The changes over recent months have elevated the Laurels to become a more respected care provider and I'm so happy to have my brother in their care. Many thanks for all your hard work.

My mothers doing extremely well. She’s happy and content, has made friends with some of the residents and is taking part in all the activities. All the staff are caring and very friendly, and when I visit Mum, I always feel very welcomed. The Laurels staff work well together as a team and are always busy organising events for the resident's families and friends to attend. Only last week most of my family spent a wonderful afternoon with my mum; we all wore our Christmas jumpers and had lots of fun and laughter. When we leave Mum, we know that she’s happy and very well cared for, and that’s what you want to see. As a family, we are extremely grateful to all the staff at The Laurels for taking good care of our dear Mum.

My mother was left for 13 hours with a broken hip because of the inexperience of your staff. My mother later died in hospital after a hip operation on Christmas Day. There were instances where the pressure mat in her bedroom had been disconnected.

The care my dad has received over the last few months has been really good. He went through a stage of falling and going into hospital, all in all, 9 times. Thanks to the dedication of the staff and managerial team he has improved massively. I’ve worked in the care industry for over 15 years so I’m aware of issues that arise but I can safely say over the last few months things have been good for him and myself. Any little problem I address immediately and it is dealt with promptly and professionally.

My room is always kept very clean by the cleaning team. Everyone tries to put my things back to where I like them to be. I am very particular about where I like things put. The carers are all very good to me and very patient with me. I am looked after very well the staff are all very friendly and I enjoy chatting with them. The kitchen staff are very good and the new cooks have a gluten-free menu which is better and more varied and I am enjoying my food more.

My father-in-law moved into The Laurels Care Home in January this year due to loss of mobility which left him unable to care for himself. He has struggled to come to terms with the loss of his independence and has often not been an easy resident to help and care for. The care workers, management and everyone from maintenance to chefs have worked so hard to help him settle in, suggesting ideas to make him happier and more comfortable and communicating with us throughout. The staff create a lovely family feel at The Laurels Care Home and we are very impressed with their professionalism and care.
