But so glad we chose The Laurels Care Home as Mum's next home from home.
Mum has settled in really well, it took a little while understandably, it was a big change for her and the family. We've made her room very familiar to her with bits of her own furniture.
Care is very good. The manager is great, nothing is too much trouble.
We can visit anytime of day or night or take Mum out for the day or a sleepover!
There's different activities each day for the residents to join in if they want to, from bingo to singers coming in entertaining everyone.
It's a great relief knowing Mum is being well looked after.
Thank you to the whole team!
Thank you very much for trusting us. We are glad to be able to support.
Since his arrival, he has received excellent care and support. When visiting, family members are made to feel welcome, a staff member always popping in to speak of Dad's welfare.
I have received two WhatsApp photos of Dad sitting in a chair within the Community Lounge, something we did not expect to see, it is very reassuring.
We receive telephone calls to discuss Dad's health and well-being. Nothing seems too much trouble.
All those who have visited Dad have found him well cared for, comfortable, well fed and content. The family know him to be safe.
Staff at The Laurels have helped us to navigate this difficult time and to feel the right decision has been made. Thank you.
Thank you for your positive feedback, it means a lot to all of us. It is a pleasure to look after someone so kind, gentle and polite like your father is. He has a fantastic sense of humour and he is a very popular resident.
I've got nothing but praise for all the team. We have received support for many years and they helped to keep Dad independent and happy in his golden years. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us. It is a pleasure to look after your father.
The staff at The Laurels Care Home are kind, caring, compassionate and friendly towards residents and family members. There is a great menu on offer every day, it is clean and has a lovely atmosphere with wonderful activities for residents to take part in.
Thank you, Tracey. We value the positive review and are happy to hear that from you.
From the outset, it was evident that every member of staff here really, really cares. My mother was admitted with pretty advanced Alzheimer’s and as such was needy, to say the least. I witnessed the kindness and care I would have given her myself. One of the senior carers, in particular, a nicer more loving and more caring person, you could not meet.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I will ensure the care team are thanked. As you may know, The Laurels is now under new ownership and new management and we hope to continue to make only positive improvements to the Home.
My Fathers happiness, dignity and safety are paramount. Care is being provided, maintaining his individual needs; opportunities to express himself are respected, enabling empowerment. The team are very gentle and kind in their approach. It is a two-way partnership, staff listening to concerns or requests of family members.
Dad happily wanders around, thoroughly enjoying safe access to the courtyard gardens. Weather permitting, participating in small gardening tasks, and growing vegetables.
The team are well led, and from observations, staff work well together. He is seen, when required by medical staff from GP practice. Staff are knowledgeable of his needs and consistent. We are able to visit at any time, contact staff by phone, and send letters and parcels to Dad, to maintain 'normal' forms of communication.
It is most distressing when a much-loved member of your family requires full-time care, seeing Dad stabilised and settled since admission has been so comforting. Thank you.
It is a few months since I last visited The Laurels. I must say that I was very impressed with the changes made. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A lovely atmosphere.
The Owner, Manager, and Staff of this family run care home have provided excellent care and a comfortable safe, clean environment for my Mother for the last eighteen months. While you try to look after family in their own environment for as long as possible, there inevitably comes a time when this is no longer possible, and I would thoroughly recommend this home to any families who are contemplating residential care.
Visited with my friend to visit her grandmother. I felt the staff were lovely and caring, lovely menu on offer that day and had pictures of meals which I felt was really good as there are people with Dementia. The home has a new manager and I can see the changes that have been made in the last couple of months.
I visited the home with my Dog Wispa for Pat a Pet morning for the residents arranged by the New Activities Coordinator. The Activities Coordinator engaged well with the residents, was knowlagable of their individual needs and residents where truly happy to see her. The Manager was welcoming, approachable and showed interest in what I was doing for the residents. All staff where friendly and helpful. Residents seemed happy and well looked after.
