My mum has been at The Salisbury Care Home for a couple of years now. Right from the start staff have always been friendly and helpful and nothing is too much. On Thursday the 12th February the home got together with the police cadets and did a fun filled night of Bingo guess the name of the cuddly
dog and a couple of raffles raising money for the home and guide dogs for the blind. It was a great night.

My mum is a resident and has been for approximately a year now. She suffers with dementia. The care they have shown her is absolutely amazing.
Then towards the end of last year my dad became a resident he was there for end of life care. Again the care they gave him was great, I cannot thank all the
staff enough for all they did for my dad and continue to do for my mum.

Mum has been at the Salisbury for a year now. It was hard coming to terms with the fact mum could no longer stay at home and that we were unable to care for her at our home.
My husband and I researched carefully and visited a number of care homes. The residents at the Salisbury looked well cared for
and happy and the feeling was that of 'home from home'.
We are so relieved we made the choice we did. Mum has a lovely room, in clean surroundings, and the staff feel like extended family.
There are plenty of activities to keep the residents as active as posible and to challenge them mentally and, while she was able, mum particularly enjoyed a sing-a-long with the music lady.
Mum, in her decline, is treated with love and respect and I would reiterate that we are forever grateful we made the choice we did.

Salisbury has been looking after my nan for around a year and briefly looked after my grandad before he sadly passed. They are the most wonderful people and I couldn't have asked for better care. They keep the residents well looked-after, happy and entertained. I'm so grateful for everything they do
for my family. This is a place that all other care homes should be benchmarked against. They are respectful and kind and treat the residents with dignity.

I attended an event at Salisbury where they had a band and a raffle, I was amazed at how lovely the atmosphere was and how happy all the residents were, they were engaging even up dancing, you could see they all really enjoyed it by the smiles on their faces, I couldn't fault the staff and how they
interacted with all the residents, you can see they genuinely care about every single person, I really enjoyed it and had so much fun, I am looking forward to coming down to future events as it was was a wonderful day had by all, you could see a lot of effort had been put in to making it a good day, I just want to thank all the staff for making a family friend really happy and was lovely to see so may smiles on peoples faces.

Over the Christmas holiday I helped with volunteering. The staff on site were extremely professional, hard working, dedicated and very friendly. The atmosphere the made for all the residents and staff was amazing. They made sure the Christmas spirit was felt by everyone. I can't thank the staff enough
for making me feel welcomed and showing me how hard the members of staff work through the year.

Moving Dad to a carehome was the last thing we wanted for him. We veiwed many, but the Salisbury was the nicest. It was welcoming and bright. The care Dad receicved was excellent. Dad sadly passed on boxing day 2025, and the support and compassion we were given during this time was amazing.

Making the decision to place our mum, who has mixed dementia, into a care home was heartbreaking. We were filled with guilt and fear, especially with negative stories in the media. From our very first visit to Salisbury Care Home, those worries began to ease. My first thought was how lovely it smelt
- like a real home, not a facility. The staff were kind and patient, helping Mum settle into a strange environment with dignity. I often visit unannounced and am always welcomed by smiling staff and residents. The care feels like family, and this warmth has spread to the residents themselves. I will never forget walking into see staff and residents singing and dancing together, the joy on everyone's faces, and my usually quiet Mum singing into a microphone. On another visit, I saw staff calmly handle a resident's birthday when sundowning caused distress, waiting and trying again with success. I can honestly say this is not just a care home - it's one big family home.

My Nan has been a resident at the care home since earlier this year. This was a really hard transition for us as a family and I couldn't be more thankful for how caring and supportive the staff have been to my family and I.
The manager and her staff are amazing, they're so friendly and are always
there to welcome you with a smile and offer you a cup of tea.
Nan is so wonderfully looked after, she has settled in so well. She's settled in nicely, is looked after well, given ample choices for dinners, always offered a snack and almost always has a cup of tea in hand.
The singer is absolutely wonderful and has been incredible at bringing my Nan out of her shell, it's so heartwarming to see her getting involved and singing along. When she's there it feels like I've got my old Nan back.
Thank you so much for everything.

My goodness I don't know where to begin.
I love this care home. I viewed several in 2023 when I was looking for home for my auntie who has dementia. All the staff are lovely and kind. They have all worked there for years and are all very close. My auntie is having the best care in Salisbury Care Home.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

We have been very impressed with Salisbury House with the exceptional care and the friendliness of the staff also how caring and fun that is shown to the residents. It is always kept clean and the meals are very good and given a choice. We thank all at Salisbury House for everything and safety is very

My mother has dementia but could not receive better care anywhere. She is treated with dignity, kept clean, healthy and comfortable, is allowed to keep her own hours, is not coerced to do anything against her will. The staff are caring, sensible, practical and know the residents and their idiosyncratic
well. I feel The Salisbury Residential Home offers excellent service at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this home for any elderly person.

Thursday evening when I left The Salisbury I had to wait as an ambulance ceww were taking a resident to hospital and there was a genuine air of concern and support for him from the three staff present. As it was my mum's 97th birthday the team had arranged for my sister, brother-in-law and me to have
our lunch with her in a private dining area. This was much appreciated by us all and was a major contribution to Mum's special day. This is the first time we have been able to do this, which is much appreciated by us all.

Since Mum's first residence at The Salisbury all staff have shown great compassion, care and support. Staff have a good rapport with Mum and foster a friendly approachable manner. They always go the 'extra mile'! As we have to travel a considerable distance to visit, we have been invited to join Mum
for lunch and have done so on a few occasions. We can therefore at least to the quality of the food being both variable and enjoyable.

Very happy with the care and support given to mother-in-law on all occasions I've visited. The staff without exception are friendly, supportive and caring. The open door policy ensures that there is always a friendly face just checking in and ensuring her safety. There is also a plentiful and varied

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.982)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.982) out of 10 for The Salisbury Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for The Salisbury Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Salisbury Residential Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
