The Windmill Care Home

The staff at the home - right from management to cleaners have been excellent. It's a traumatic experience having to put a loved one in care, but the kindness and professionalism from everyone at the home made it a lot easier than it would have been. The food that I have seen being served looks delicious and wholesome. I can't rate this home highly enough.

I must thank and highly recommend this care home for anyone suffering dementia related needs. The staff have all been so supportive, kind and demonstrate a really high level of experience and care. The management team have been thoughtful with updates and photographs of our father's progress. They have made us feel welcomed and included for as much time as we wish to be in the home. The facilities are safe and clean and overall the residents and staff all appear happy and content. After years of struggling our only regret is not finding this home sooner. We now have genuine support and reassurance, and my father has a happier way of life.

I looked at a lot of different care homes for my farther and decided to give the windmill care home a try myself and my sister went for a look around and see the rooms we where so surprised at the size of the room and on suite bathroom with TV bedroom furniture and a hospital bed the deco was amazing all so clean the staff where incredible so happy and helpful my dad moved in with in two days my dad took some pitches and photos which they put up on the walls and personal stuff all around and made it so homely for my dad he absolutely loves here there is always something going on for the residents they have bingo arts cooking and singers the children go from the local school and sing and even read to the residents they have barbecue s in there beautiful kept garden in the summer and garden fete everything they organise family and friends are always welcome they even have animals visit and the ice cream van this home is out standing how all staff go above and beyond

I regularly visit The Windmill. I have always been politely spoken to by staff. The care home always looks clean. My grandad says he receives very good care and food.

My father has now been in this home for a year, and I find the staff very friendly towards myself and the residents in the home, they are caring and helpful and always have time to chat and joke with the residents and myself when I visit. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them from the cook right down to the caring staff. They go above and beyond to help with my father and other residents only the other day I was there and was informed that my dad had not eaten his lunch, the cook was most concerned so she came and ask my dad what he would like and he said a bacon sandwich no sooner had he said that the sandwich appeared and he ate the lot while I was there it was so kind of her and much appreciated by myself knowing they take good care of the residents. All the staff work hard to make sure all the residents are happy and have lots to occupy their minds, and are always arranging fun things to do and get the relatives involved which is nice to see. A big thank you to all.

Lovely month of activities and events for my mother to enjoy. The hairdresser visits every Wednesday and does a lovely job. The entertainment in the evening of music and dancing and maybe a glass of wine. The Easter Fete was good fun.

Amazing care home. This home is run so well by all involved, extremely welcoming for everyone. Could not fault this home. Highly recommend. Clean and safe for the residents, the staff are really nice too, and the management team are second to none.

All staff are understanding and kind very friendly. All staff are very understanding and compassionate with the residents. The home is always clean and tidy. The food is outstanding, fresh and well-prepared and a good variety of choices. Staff always keep up update with events and keep you informed about the care or any changes of your relative. My relative has been in the windmill for 2 years I have never been disappointed with the care and compassion of all staff over the 2 years.

There always seems to be plenty of staff available to care for the residents. They are all very kind and caring. The management team also appear to be on the ball. It is evident they know what is going on at any given time. They too are so friendly and approachable. There is a beautiful garden and the interior is nicely decorated. Perhaps the only downside is the layout, being one way through and back. It would be nice if there was a continuous walk around and back to where you started as some residents may wish to wander.

I have always found my experiences of visiting Windmill Care Home to be made inviting by all members of staff. The person I visit is always very complimentary about the way he is treated and the way the home is run. With special reference to the food.

I cannot fault this care home at all. From my first visit to assess its suitability I have found the staff to be extremely helpful, friendly and caring, making my Father-in-Law welcome instantly on his arrival. Since then they have been amazing, and my father-in-law's health has improved. Nothing is too much trouble, and the home is kept beautifully clean. The food is top quality too and they keep us up to date with any issues as soon as they happen. Given the mixed nature of residents' conditions, they do very well to put people of similar type together and have activities and entertainment regularly to stimulate the residents. I don't think it could be any better.

Overall, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Good care of residents. Always feel welcome when visiting. We believe that our mother is well cared for. She appears contented and settled. We are more than happy with the care she receives from the team.

My husband has now been in your home for ten weeks. I cannot fault anything of the care that you have given him; very considerate and, most of all, kind in the total care you have given him. All the carers are extremely helpful and very thoughtful. It's a very homely care home and I would recommend it to anyone.

The manager and the team have all been exceptional in the care of my Father. Both literally with his every day (and night) needs and with the broader needs of his care requirements. I can not speak highly enough of the professionalism of all team members and their considerate personal attention they pay to all their residents. Nothing is too much trouble for them at any time. They are outstanding and should be commended for their total dedication to residents care - well done all.

My mother was a resident from February 2021 until February 2023. She was made to feel it was her home and was well cared for and very happy for the entirety of her residency. She recently passed away at the age of ninety-seven and I was very happy knowing that her last years were comfortable and in a caring environment.

I cannot recommend it enough. I have been informed of his progress every step of the way and if he has had any issues. All staff make you welcome, and you can see how much they care about every single resident. My uncle has dementia and will be here for the rest of his days. I have no doubt he will be looked after and happy here. If you have a family member and you want them to have the best care, I can guarantee this is the place for them. They are all amazing.

The Windmill Care Home is a home-from-home where the residents receive care, compassion, understanding and sometimes pampering, with the opportunity of taking part in activities on a daily basis. My mum was placed in the care home after being in hospital for six weeks and by then, had lost strength, mobility and her love of food. Initially, she was unable to even get out of bed. Since being in the Windmill she has been helped and encouraged to regain all three of these in a loving way by the carers and management team. Mum has made good friends with fellow residents, carers and management, such a joy to hear her laughing and singing again. Everyone at the Windmill is amazing and gives their best. I highly recommend giving The Windmill a look if you are in the difficult position of needing a home for your loved one to be cared for in.

My mum had the very best of her last days at this home. To her, everyone was an angel. My sister and I could not have wished for more dedicated staff and management. Always grateful for your kind words and understanding.
