The care and the staff are brilliant. Our mother enjoyed it so much. It was like a home from home because she had freedom. She kept the staff on their toes. We have always been made to feel very welcome when visiting. We felt like part of the family at Woodlands.

My family have been so pleased with the overall care Woodlands have given to our mum over the last 2+ years. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff; keeps us informed if Mum needs anything, medical, etc. I would recommend this care home. Staff are amazing, so caring, professional, happy, always a smile. They keep my mum so beautifully dressed, clean, hair always lovely, as my mum has always kept herself over the years herself. Perfect home from home - 10/10.

My mother has been a resident since July 2020, when a sudden deterioration in her health necessitated the need for long term care. We didn’t choose Woodlands, it was the only place available at the time, and was initially temporary. But she wanted to stay, and as a lady who has always said she would never go into residential care, this really says a lot!
Visiting during the pandemic has been carefully managed, with excellent results. The building is in places tired but this doesn’t matter as the overall feeling is one of a warm, happy, clean, caring environment that is actually a “home”. Medical needs are dealt with very effectively and quickly, the food is good and Mum seems to have a good relationship with her carers. They ring me if there are any problems, and don’t mind me ringing them with any concerns.

This was a life-changing move for all of us to deal with, and we have had a few teething problems, but overall we are confident our mum is well cared for at Woodlands.

I find Woodlands to be a very caring facility. The staff are kind and considerate. I am very happy that my wife is a resident there, and apart from the Covid lockdown, I am allowed to visit her regularly in her room.

My mother has been in the care of Woodlands for about four years. This review has been based on my experiences during the Covid situation. Obviously, access for visits has been significantly affected but the care home has always managed to cater for my requirements when visits have been allowed. It is my impression that the staff are considerate and obliging especially during non-routine circumstances concerning my mother's needs. There is only one area that could be improved upon and that is for access at weekends when ringing the doorbell does not always get acknowledged and you have to wait for some significant time or until a non-staff member lets you in; not the best for security. I expect staff levels at weekends may be an influence. Overall, I am happy with the care provided especially as my mother can be challenging at times.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Weekends are more challenging. More so because the management team, which includes our wonderful BA, aren’t in. This will be shared with the team so that we can look at what immediate changes can be implemented to reduce the waiting time. We’re learning every day and want the best for all.

My father has been in Woodlands for over a year and I and my brother are very impressed with how he is looked after, nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. I went last week to a residents meeting as I hadn't been to one before and it was lovely to see how happy the residents were. The manager and her team only think of the residents as it should be. Very happy.

During my stay I found Woodlands to be clean and pleasingly decorated with no nasty smells, as is the case of other homes. But the jewel in this crown is the staff, who are so kind and caring and more than willing to help no matter night or day. The food had a good choice and on the whole was well cooked and presented. The rooms were cheerful and the bed comfortable. All set in such beautiful gardens. I would happily recommend anyone to stay here and would return again if it became necessary very willingly.
