Overall Experience
As a family we are happy that Mum is receiving great care at The Beeches. She has dementia and the staff are quick to realise when she's not 100% and will act on it swiftly. The dementia causes her care needs to change on a daily basis but the staff read her well and adapt their approach accordingly. They also consult and liaise with external NHS specialist teams to ensure Mum's needs are fully met.
The Beeches has a good relationship with the GP surgery, a GP visits weekly and the surgery have proved to be swift in responding when Mum has required medical attention outside of the weekly visit.

There is a happy atmosphere in the home, with lots of activities and the staff actively encourage residents to participate but also respect the wishes of those who prefer not to join in. There is a TV lounge, a radio lounge and a quiet lounge so residents have a choice of where to sit. They can also sit in a lovely conservatory overlooking the garden.

The staff and management at The Beeches work tirelessly to provide a dignified, comfortable and enjoyable experience within the home. They make the relatives feel welcome and very understanding and considerate when you visit your relatives. The environment is always clean and the way the rooms are set out provides small intimate areas so residents aren't overwhelmed by too many people in one place at a time.

Having cared for my mother full-time for 18 months during the pandemic, I reached a point where I knew placing my mother (91 years with Alzheimer's) would not be a shock to her. I had feelings of guilt and concerns about how well my mother would be treated. I looked at several care homes prior to choosing The Beeches. Within five minutes of looking around the home, I knew this was the right place for my mother. Since February 2022, when Mum moved in, I have only had positive feelings about her care. The staff are clearly all kind, patient and considerate to both my mother and other residents. This is a wonderful care facility. Thank you.

Mum has been here now for just over two years and in that time, she has settled in well. The staff are always very caring and support Mum in everything she needs. Nothing is ever too much when asked. Management are always very accommodating and always keep us informed of Mum's health and well-being. I would highly recommend The Beeches for their outstanding care and support around dementia.

Since moving into the Beeches, my friend has felt safe and secure. She is more relaxed at night, knowing she has someone to call on if needed. Having company during the day is something she enjoys now too. The staff and management are all very supportive.

Dad has been at The Beeches for just over 2 years now. From the moment he arrived, the staff have been second to none. We were made very welcome on visits and encouraged to stay and do activities that had been arranged. Dad has complex needs, but the staff were very quick to accommodate those needs and make him feel comfortable. Lockdown was very difficult for us, but we were so impressed at how the home kept all the staff and residents Covid free, and still continue to do so. We have absolute trust in the home that they are doing everything possible for Dad and he looks so well, clean and tidy at every visit. Thank you so much for looking after my dad and all that you continue to do to give dad the dignity and care he deserves.

My mum arrived at The Beeches on June the 1st last year a very scared, muddled, confused lady. As her family, we were so sad that we had to resort to a care home as this was never our plan. However, to make life safe, particularly in these very troubled times, we were left with no choice. The Beeches has been amazing... she is now settled and content. She still talks about coming home,e but does enjoy being looked after. The staff are fab with her, and she always looks well cared for. She has even put on a little weight, which she needed. With visiting now allowed, life is a little easier for us too. Thank you for all that you do each and every one of you.

My mother was admitted to The Beeches a little more than 12months ago along with my father, who suffered from dementia; she was admitted due to mobility problems.
My father has died. They had been married for 68-years and been inseparable. He died during the first lockdown, and we (my sister and I) were unable to visit to comfort/ reassure her. The management and staff were absolutely exceptional with their kindness and understanding throughout the period of her mourning and sadness.
She suffered a stroke some weeks later, and once again, the compassion and care she received were extraordinary.

The staff and management of this care home have throughout her residency been truly wonderful. They have dealt with shielding the people in their care without having a single Covid-19 case. From the management, care staff to the maintenance man, she has been given care, encouragement, and above all, affection. Our hardest decision has proved to be our best, thanks to The Beeches Ixworth.

Our Mother moved to The Beeches 5-months ago. This was the most difficult decision the family have ever made, but with the continued support and advice from the management team, the process became a lot easier. Mum has settled in very well and always appears happy. It has been very tough not visiting, but the deputy manager has been brilliant enabling the family to have video chats weekly. The whole team have done an amazing job keeping the home Covid free. They are all very friendly and approachable and have cared for Mum, allowing us to rest assured in these very difficult times.

The staff at The Beeches work hard to maintain high levels of care and stimulation with residents, despite the challenges of COVID. We have not been able to visit inside, but a recent purpose-built visiting pod has been appreciated. We feel confident the staff are doing all they can to look after residents in a happy and healthy environment, despite the challenges of the COVID situation. Everything I have seen is excellent. Thank you.

Having lived with me for 5 years, my mother moved to The Beeches as her dementia had progressed significantly and she was now very confused and wandering. The team at The Beeches were extremely welcoming and understanding of her needs and requirements. I am extremely grateful for the care and compassion showed to my mother - she was treated with respect and dignity (despite the fact that she could be challenging). I can highly recommend The Beeches.

Both my Mum and Dad moved into The Beeches five weeks ago as sadly their home care package was not working anymore. I can honestly say, although we had our reservations, it was the best move. They settled in quickly. The staff in this home made them so welcome. They are being looked after in such a caring way. They have their dignity back and I know they are safe. This home is wonderful, but it is the people working there that make it so special.

It is early days as my wife has only been in the home for 4 weeks, but so far her treatment by the staff has been excellent. She was not well when she entered The Beeches and did not really want to leave home, but she now has settled down and the staff have greatly helped in this respect. So far so good.
