Dad always seems to be happy. Today I came in to find him playing bingo. It was lovely to see. I have never known my Dad to ever play bingo.

Staff are excellent and take good care of my wife, who has settled in well. This is the second time here so she is familiar with the layout. It only takes me 10 minutes to get here from home so good location for me, with all the latest equipment for helping to lift if necessary.

My friend has been looked after since coming to Beech Lawn by staff who have been polite, caring and kind. Her general health has improved greatly, also her wellbeing has seen a vast improvement. All staff are friendly to us as visitors too.

Beech Lawn is short of staff, not all of the staff who are there work as hard as they should. On one occasion the resident was not given any dinner. Another time the dinner was cold and another day dessert was not given. As a result of this, the family have arranged to be there every dinner time to
ensure the resident receives a full hot meal.

My 93-year-old mother had been a resident of Beech Lawn for 2 1/2 years until she recently passed away. During that time the care provided was very good. The carers and domestics showed compassion and patience and were always prepared to engage in conversation and listen to her. We had been impressed
with the home so much so, that my 93-year-old father has now taken up residence. He has told us he loves the attention the staff give him, he enjoys the food and that he feels safe there.

After a guided viewing of residential homes, I have felt for many months that I truly and thankfully, made the right decision accepting Beech Lawn above other offers. My father, like other residents, did not settle in immediately, but the manager and staff at Beech Lawn have done an amazing job to get
him feeling settled and cared for! The manager and staff continually do fantastic daily duties to care for all residents of Beech Lawn. I would definitely recommend Beech Lawn to other people in need of an extremely good care home with excellent management and staff. Thank you all at Beech Lawn.

Since my brother has been in this home, he has always been treated with care and consideration. The staff although it changes are happy to talk to me about him. If I have concerns or if I need help (I am my brother's deputy) the staff and management are always helpful and professional.

My father has been at Beech Lawn since February 2017. He was admitted for respite for dementia as my mother was taken poorly.
However, his stay has now been made permanent due to circumstances. I am happy with all the care my father gets, he is treated respectfully and with compassion.
With dementia,
he is in his own world, but I am sure he is happy and thankful to be at Beech Lawn.

A well run warm and welcoming home - the staff are friendly and helpful. The room my aunt is in is light, airy and warm, with staff popping in very regular intervals to check on her well-being. The meals are varied and well presented.

As a person who lives away from Ipswich when I come to visit my nan, the care that is provided for her is more than I could ever ask for. She is very happy, the staff are welcoming and the daily activities they provide for the residents is fantastic! I always leave feeling reassured that she is cared
for and couldn't wish for anything more.

My mother-in-law has been in Beech Lawn since January 2017. At the time of her arrival, she was very anxious and extremely angry. The staff were all so caring and immediately put our mind at rest that she would be safe. In the following weeks, she had calmed down and was really settled. Activities are
provided and the residents are encouraged to take part. We are very welcome to visit whenever we like. The staff are always happy and very approachable, they have total respect and consideration for their residents and families. We are so impressed with Beech Lawn and would recommend.

My partner has been at the home for 6 and a half years and this is my and her second assessment.

1) Improved activities, due to new staff and allows for freer movement - before she was unable to go out her relatives and I can now manage her outside to visit old haunts and friends who were unable

to go to visit her!!
2) Meals are good and choice excellent.
3) I also feel she enjoys the music, the gardening and planting of veg and also flower arranging.
4) She feels safer here and is more relaxed to cope with her mental and physical problems.

Dad went to Beech Lawn for respite and stayed longer than first arranged. Very clean home. Friendly, attentive, helpful, informative staff and management. "Old fashioned" home but perfect for older residents- dad is 93! The only "niggle" I would have is that I was informed at the last minute of repeat
prescriptions that were needed. Dad's first visit to a care home and had no qualms at all.

Eight months ago we selected Beech Lawn from several other care homes in the area because the staff seemed so friendly and caring. It took time for mum to adjust to her new surroundings, but she has settled in very well, joining in a variety of activities as much as she is able. She especially enjoys
any music that's organised and being out in the garden in warm weather. We are relieved to know mum is well cared for in a clean and safe environment by a reliable, professional team and would not hesitate to recommend Beech Lawn to others.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.557)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.557) out of 10 for Elton Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.657 for Elton Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 102 Ratings = 4.657
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elton Park Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
