Our family cannot fault in any way, the help and service the staff do for my Dad. They are angels, always there, when my dad or us need anything. My dad is at end of life but I know he is happy and feels safe. Our mind is at rest now because he is safe, fed, looked after and loved. Thank you all so
much for your help.

After two failed attempts I am so relieved to have found Chilton Croft. The minute you walk through the door it feels like home. The smiling staff obviously enjoy their jobs & there is a calmness here that is reassuring. I no longer worry about my father & his care. I can relax, knowing that he is safe,
content & cared for.

My sister became a resident at Chilton Croft Nursing Home in August 2025. She was very underweight after a few weeks she gained weight and was bright & happy. Her room is very clean and comfortable, she is also clean and dressed well. The staff are all so kind and have time for all the residents. I
can't find anything to worry about and we wish all the staff a very happy Christmas.

My 97 year old Gran wanted to move into a care home in Eastbourne and chose Hartfield House as the place where she felt she would be most happy and secure. What a fantastic decision she made!
Hartfield House is a wonderfully warm, welcoming and friendly home. It has the feel of a big happy family house.
All the staff are great and always go above and beyond to make their residents feel comfortable and at home. There is really great interaction between staff and residents and care & support for the residents is excellent and always at the right level for each individual. My Gran settled in and adjusted to her new home within a couple of days and has already made good friends. She has been engaging and interacting with other residents and is already so much brighter and happier in her demeanour. We are over the moon with how quickly she has settled and how well she is looking. This is a testament to all the staff, management and other residents in Hartfield House. A big thank you to all
Reply from Kandy Wright, Home Manager at Hartfield HouseThank you so much for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear how happy and settled your Gran is at Hartfield House and that she felt secure and comfortable so quickly.

My wife and I have had a connection to Hartfield house for several years ( various family members have stayed with you for different periods of time ) We continue to feel assured all is well , and our older family members have been very well looked after One small point, the telephone connection to
the rear back rooms appears to have deteriorated. ( Our mother is sadly not able to use the basic mobile phone we provided to her )
Reply from Kandy Wright, Home Manager at Hartfield HouseThank you for your kind review and for your continued trust in Hartfield House over the years. We are very pleased to hear that you and your family have felt reassured and that your older family members have been well cared for during their time with us. Your feedback means a great deal to our team.

Thank you also for bringing the telephone connection in the rear rooms to our attention. We understand how important reliable communication is, particularly for residents who are unable to use mobile phones. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and can confirm that the issue has been raised with our directors to be investigated and resolved.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

The overall experience of my friend staying at Hartfield House is that of patience, care and kindness; nothing is too much trouble for all the staff. During the last four months, my brother has been residing at Hartfield House Care Home. My brother is very comfortable and happy in his new home. The staff are very kind, helpful and always ready to help. He is happy with his large bedroom, overlooking the pretty garden, which we can enjoy during summer.
My
brother has become part of the family, and everyone is friendly and encouraging of joining games and exercising. The home has two cooks, and the food is very good, with a lovely birthday cake for all the residents. I visit my brother every afternoon, joining everyone for a cup of tea and a slice of cake at 3 pm.

Mum moved in 15th may 2024 with Dementia, the first year she was given 3 baths only, the staff said they would/could not make her bath. Mum was left in her room unattended and not helped with day to day tasks.
After 1st year, I when visiting would wash mum and take washing home as the home would not
return mums labelled cloths. In the last 6 months mum was in the home she had a number off falls and hospital visits, the home made no effort to address any questions asked. In October 2025 mum was admitted in to hospital and is still there today as home has refused to have her back saying 'We cannot meet your Mums needs' The Hastings hospital has put a SAFEGARDING order in place for the home.
Invoicing from home has always had to be corrected.
Reply from Kandy Wright, Home Manager at Hartfield HouseDear Lynda,

We are very sorry to read your comments and to hear that you've been unhappy with aspects of your mother's care. It was such a shame to see you felt that things had changed so much since the last review you provided in January 2025, which was so positive. We fully understand how upsetting this situation must be for you and your family.

Please be assured that the wellbeing and dignity of all our residents are always our top priorities. Our team follows detailed, person-centred care plans that are regularly reviewed to ensure that each resident's changing needs are appropriately met.

While we cannot discuss individual details publicly, we can confirm that all care decisions - including those relating to your mother's needs and safety - were made carefully, in line with professional guidance and with her best interests at heart. We also ensured that you were kept informed of any changes and updates regarding your Mother's changes of care needs.

We must have visited every care home in Eastbourne to choose one for our mum. Of the homes within her price bracket Hartfield really stood out. It is a beautiful home immaculately cared for and the staff are lovely. Residents all seem happy and Mum loves it there. She has been a resident since May.
A few glitches of course that will always happen but the management and staff are open to feedback and suggestions and that gives me confidence going forward. Thanks to all at Hartfield House who care for our Mum.

We were offered Sunrise Nursing Home after my mother was unable to stay in her bungalow.
Kay the manager, invited me to have a look around and we had the choice of two rooms that were available, we decided on the larger one of the two as we needed to accommodate mums mobility needs.
When I moved
mum in, I asked about pictures and decorating, Kay said that this was your mum's home now and that I could do what was needed to make it homely for her. So I provided the wallpaper, curtains and shelves and they were put up on my behalf. If I did have any queries, I would raise them with Kay and she would have it resolved straight away. The carers, nurses, activity coordinators and the handyman were all very caring and approachable, and within a week mum had settled in and was enjoying playing bingo, therapy dog visits and exercise classes. Mum enjoyed the food offered and they were able to accommodate her purée needs. I would highly recommend Sunrise Nursing Home.

My Mother moved to Sunrise from a less than adequate care home in Ipswich. Before the move we were invited as a family to visit the premises, to look around and ask any questions we wanted.
The decision was made to move Mum there and from that day she became a member of the Sunrise family.
Nothing
was too much trouble for the staff and Management and we came to look on them as trusted friends rather than staff.
Mum soon made friends and it was a pleasure to visit and find her happily chatting to friends she had made since moving in.
There were obviously times when Mum wasn't feeling at her best and would take to her room. During these times she was afforded as much privacy as was possible within the confines of what was required to ensure her care and treatment.
I never regret the decision to move her there and our family are still close to the Staff even after Mums death In June of this year. I can't recommend Sunrise highly enough.

This home is so friendly and I get on well with the Manager, staff and residents, many would class me as a friend as I see most of the residents on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
Really enjoy coming here and they make yummy cakes
when I have one on my hairdressing afternoons!
