Mum moved in 15th may 2024 with Dementia, the first year she was given 3 baths only, the staff said they would/could not make her bath. Mum was left in her room unattended and not helped with day to day tasks.
After 1st year, I when visiting would wash mum and take washing home as the home would not
return mums labelled cloths. In the last 6 months mum was in the home she had a number off falls and hospital visits, the home made no effort to address any questions asked. In October 2025 mum was admitted in to hospital and is still there today as home has refused to have her back saying 'We cannot meet your Mums needs' The Hastings hospital has put a SAFEGARDING order in place for the home.
Invoicing from home has always had to be corrected.

We must have visited every care home in Eastbourne to choose one for our mum. Of the homes within her price bracket Hartfield really stood out. It is a beautiful home immaculately cared for and the staff are lovely. Residents all seem happy and Mum loves it there. She has been a resident since May.
A few glitches of course that will always happen but the management and staff are open to feedback and suggestions and that gives me confidence going forward. Thanks to all at Hartfield House who care for our Mum.

Sunrise Nursing Home

We were offered Sunrise Nursing Home after my mother was unable to stay in her bungalow.
Kay the manager, invited me to have a look around and we had the choice of two rooms that were available, we decided on the larger one of the two as we needed to accommodate mums mobility needs.
When I moved
mum in, I asked about pictures and decorating, Kay said that this was your mum's home now and that I could do what was needed to make it homely for her. So I provided the wallpaper, curtains and shelves and they were put up on my behalf. If I did have any queries, I would raise them with Kay and she would have it resolved straight away. The carers, nurses, activity coordinators and the handyman were all very caring and approachable, and within a week mum had settled in and was enjoying playing bingo, therapy dog visits and exercise classes. Mum enjoyed the food offered and they were able to accommodate her purée needs. I would highly recommend Sunrise Nursing Home.

Following a brief hospital stay our dad moved to Sunrise Nursing Home for end of life care. During his brief stay. The manager was approachable and very supportive. All the staff were friendly, kind and very respectful towards dad, and to all family members who spent many hours there. Thank you to all,
and for helping us through a very upsetting and difficult time.

My Dad is having short term respite care after needing to have some extra support to eat properly and put on some weight.
Staff have been very welcoming and informative. The home is kept very clean and tidy. My Dad has settled really well and looked so much better just after a week. He wants to stay!

My Mother moved to Sunrise from a less than adequate care home in Ipswich. Before the move we were invited as a family to visit the premises, to look around and ask any questions we wanted.
The decision was made to move Mum there and from that day she became a member of the Sunrise family.
Nothing
was too much trouble for the staff and Management and we came to look on them as trusted friends rather than staff.
Mum soon made friends and it was a pleasure to visit and find her happily chatting to friends she had made since moving in.
There were obviously times when Mum wasn't feeling at her best and would take to her room. During these times she was afforded as much privacy as was possible within the confines of what was required to ensure her care and treatment.
I never regret the decision to move her there and our family are still close to the Staff even after Mums death In June of this year. I can't recommend Sunrise highly enough.

We as a family could not have wished for better care for our father. The staff were friendly. Always had time to speak to our father. The respect they showed our father was above and beyond although our father did not have a long stay before he passed away. The staff kept us informed at all times, and
treated us with respect and gave us the time we needed and support right up to the end.

I would highly recommend Hartfield House. When I visit my friend here, I always feel welcomed by the staff who are very friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. Many times on my visits I have observed the Care Home Manager, taking time to chat and have fun with the residents. This seems
to be a very organised and well-run home with a highly motivated team.

I am the resident Hairdresser at Hartfield House and have been for years.
This home is so friendly and I get on well with the Manager, staff and residents, many would class me as a friend as I see most of the residents on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
Really enjoy coming here and they make yummy cakes
when I have one on my hairdressing afternoons!
Great Care Home!

My mother spent a year and a half at Saffrons and I have only good things to say about it. I spent a lot of time visiting care homes in the area and I knew Saffrons was the right place from the moment I walked through the door. This beautiful old house has been designed so that each room has privacy
and comfort and there are activities for those who want them, and privacy for those who don't.
My experience with the staff was exceptional as the care and respect they provided to my mother was heart-warming. Everyone I met was focused on taking care of the residents, and the wonderful manager bent over backwards trying to meet my mother's needs before she needed to move to a nursing home.
The fact that Saffrons is privately owned is a great advantage as the owner is very hands-on and makes regular visits to the home, as well as including residents and their families in meetings and updates. Saffrons was a wonderful home for my mother and I will always be grateful.

Currently, my mother is in respite at this home.
The staff are friendly and caring and she reports the food is really good.
But the state of her room is terrible just before her arrival we were told it was a store room.
There's stuff in the corridor outside it. She doesn't have her own bathroom and
the bathroom she can use has spare equipment in it and wheelchairs wedged in either side of the toilet.
She does have a sink in a cupboard in her room but cannot use it as there is a leak and has towels under it to soak up the leak.
She has no bedside lamp even though it's been requested several times.
She has blankets but no quilt even though this has been requested.
And her dressing gown was hooked up from a cupboard handle high up making it difficult and unsafe for her to retrieve. When this was pointed out we were told well if she had a fall trying to get it they would know as have sensors in the floor to alert them to fall. Unbelievable.

I have to say that Hartfield House is such a lovely home, the staff are really helpful and friendly, they even offer tea and coffee when we arrive, the manager had always gone the extra mile to assist me with any question I may have had, we always felt that nothing was a bother and she always had time

My friend who was an elderly lady, when she was there, she was so happy and contented, it was nice to visit her to see her so settled and looking so well
I would always recommend Hartfield House as in my eyes they are unique, in every way, which makes them stand out compared to other homes.

I arranged for my husband to stay at Elton Park for one week so that I could take a short holiday. I chose this care home after meeting the management and staff as I was impressed by their interest and attention to the details of him and his requirements. Unfortunately, I had an accident whilst I was
away I had to ask the staff to extend his stay. Initially, this was to be for one more week but ended up being for a further three weeks. They were understanding and helpful and I was relieved that they could accommodate him at a time when I was unable to care for him myself. He enjoyed his stay and became very fond of the staff who took amazing care of him. They went above and beyond the brief to ensure that he was happy and relaxed.
