We cannot express our satisfaction highly enough with the care mum received throughout her stay at Estherene house. The facilities available were great and easily accessible. Mum dementia behaviour, often a challenge, was met by all the staff with care and understanding. We were so impressed with the additional training staff happily undertook to help them give Mum the best support and dignity of care possible.

The care and love Mum received in her final weeks is beyond words, we cannot ever thank everyone at Estherene enough.

It was a privilege to care for your Mother. The staff understood and learnt from the mental health team how best to car for your Mum. The open and honest conversations we had were amazing. Your valued help and support made this journey your Mum took easier to understand and solutions were found. Thank you for your kind words and you will always be welcome.

Estherene House is very welcoming and friendly. The staff go out of their way to make the residents and their families feel at home. The food is excellent and families are welcome to join their loved ones for lunch. Everyone, staff and residents always seem happy. Nothing is too much trouble and no one ever feels left out or ignored. There are lots of activities available and regular entertainment. I feel confident that my Dad is being well looked after.

Our review and experience is one of superb from the staff to the way my mother, who is somewhat difficult to deal with, is looked after, she is quite demanding and sometimes rude to staff, to which I apologise. The home is nice and warm, and the food is good. We are very pleased with the service and how she is looked after. Well done, everyone.

Reply from Valerie Holland, Registered Manager at Estherene House

Thank you for your kind words. As often with our residents we see them in a different light and your Mother is a delight to look after and she has such a wonderful sense of humour. She brings light and enjoyment to the home. It is a pleasure to care for her.

Mum was a resident of Estherene House for 3 years. During this time she was well looked after by Estherene's team of caring staff. She was kept clean, well-fed and mentally and physically stimulated. The staff always would give us a warm welcome and update us on Mum's progress. Thank you Estherene House for looking after our mum.

My father had been in Estherene House for 7 months, he was not well when he went in having been moved from another home. He received really good care, the staff kept me informed of his welfare and when he passed peacefully away they couldn't have been kinder.

My grandad has been living here for just shy of two years now. Myself and my family cannot fault any of the staff here. They are excellent at communicating, caring for my grandad and ensuring he is always kept busy. They even went to the lengths of allowing him to sing one of his favourite songs when a guest singer came in to entertain the residents. I could honestly not think of a better place for him to be.

Reply from Valerie Holland, Registered Manager at Estherene House

We pride ourselves on providing a full programme of activities. It is lovely to see our residents smiling and interacting with our singers. Thank you

Superb. Estherene House has cared for our father for the past 18 months. The staff have been unfailingly kind, patient and attentive throughout. It is with great regret that we are moving dad to another care facility in a different part of the country. We are only doing so because its location makes it more convenient for family and friends. We can only hope that his new residence will be able to live up to the standards of Estherene House. We cannot recommend Estherene House too highly.

I've been impressed with how the staff have met Aunt and Uncle's needs and greeted me with a friendly face. Staff take an interest in their welfare and don't treat them as just numbers. They are always willing to listen to concerns of mine and try and sort it out quickly. The senior staff were very helpful recently when I was concerned about my Auntie. I'm often offered a small dinner and a cuppa whilst visiting and had a lovely dinner once. They have a double room upstairs with a bay window, they don't have an en-suite, and they have to go a little way down the landing. They have a stairlift to go up and down which isn't always convenient. There are plenty of activities going on most days like, being taken out in a wheelchair to the seafront and park etc. games and exercises. The place itself can get confusing with narrow corridors and a bit like a maze! The safety and security are very good with a doorbell and buzzer to press so someone come and let me in and all residents are safe and cannot just walk out of the locked door!

Myself and brother visit our mum frequently at the home. Access to Mum is very good and the support staff are very approachable and will converse about all matters readily.
Nice to see that Mum has made good relationships with a few residents living within the home.

Mum is generally quite happy with her own company so she is okay with being left to her own devices.

My stepdad has recently spent 11 weeks at Estherene House before he passed away. All of the staff were incredibly kind and caring both to my stepdad and to our family, and we were always made to feel welcome when visiting. Maintaining my stepdad's dignity was clearly important to the staff along with delivering cheerful and good-humoured care at all times. Our initial thoughts when we visited on the first day was that some areas of the building seemed a little dated but actually, we quickly realised that everywhere was always very clean and more importantly the staff work very hard to provide a homely and welcoming place for both residents and their families.

The care given to my stepdad was exemplary and we are so grateful for the love and care given to him in the final weeks of his life.

Thank you for your very kind words. They are appreciated by us all. It was a pleasure to care for him and get to know him during the short period of time he spent with us.

The home is constantly being updated, but we pride ourselves on a homely feel with a welcoming smile to whoever visits our home or comes and stays with us. A smile and a kind word is always appreciated.

My father has had numerous falls which resulted in a fractured neck and did not get fluids to drink some of the time and I feel that the quality of care is not good.

Reply from Valerie Holland, Registered Manager at Estherene House

As a home, we have worked very closely with this family addressing their concerns and have moved forward. The resident is checked every half hour or more. There is a sensor mat in place and this is checked at least every hour. The resident's fluids are constantly checked and refilled. The resident...
