Rooted in the Christian faith, life at Finborough Court supports residents to live fulfilled lives in their later years. They provide excellent, personalised care which supports residents to flourish in older age.

Their Christian background is at the heart of both their values and their actions. At Finborough Court they try to create a community where Christian worship, prayer and support are a core part of daily life. In the care home there are daily devotions, two weekly services, weekly prayer meeting and monthly communion service. These are led by the manager, residents and volunteers from the local churches. There are a number of churches of various denominations within easy reach of the home.

Finborough Court is a family home. Each individual who works or lives there becomes a family member. Many family members do live within the home, and their families can choose to come and live with us when they feel they need that extra help. This is a very unique home which works very well due to the family atmosphere that can be found there.

Finborough Court has an active social life in which residents can take part or follow their own pursuits. They appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and they endeavour to support residents to maintain this important part of their lives.

Built in 1994, Finborough Court is modern and spacious, and offers residential care in 32 single rooms, all with en-suite and beautiful rural views. There are several bathrooms with assisted baths and a walk-in shower. The main lounge and dining room are located on the ground floor and a further, smaller lounge is located on the lower ground floor, which is accessible by the passenger lift. The secure, all weather garden/patio area is easily accessible by both foot and wheelchair.

Weekly Charges per Person

  • Self-Funded Residential Care: £1481 – £1640
  • Self-Funded Residential Dementia Care: £1812 – £1812

  • RESPITE Self-Funded Residential Dementia Care: £1921 – £1921

Our fees are charged per person, per week. We do not require a deposit and we do not require a guarantor. This will include the provision of personal care, food and drink, heating, lighting, equipment, laundry, insurance of personal items, and in-house activities.


These fees are valid between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2026 and are reviewed annually. The Registered Manager will assess you prior to admission to determine the level of care provision required. During a stay at Finborough Court, fees can change if the level of care you need increases or if there is a change in the law which significantly impacts the cost of your care. You will be given one month’s notice of any changes in fees.


We have three levels of care provision at Finborough Court:
• Basic residential care: this is where the assessed needs are relatively uncomplicated and where mechanical or technical assistance is rarely needed.
• Higher dependency: this is where the assessed needs are complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is intermittently needed.
• Enhanced care: this is where assessed needs are highly complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is frequently needed. We charge for dementia care at this rate.


If you intend to pay your own fees, you are expected to have liquid funds to meet the home's fees for a minimum of two years. If you have any queries about paying for your care feel free to contact the managers to discuss this.

Finborough Court is now emerging from the awful year of Covid tragedy, anxiety and restrictions. The staff have shown support, caring and compassion to everyone. It seems they have maintained the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health of the residents as much as possible. My sister recently
said she was happy because everyone was so kind and considerate. She liked the nighttime checks which gave her a feeling of safety. She enjoys the activities and the garden in all weathers, but especially when she can do things there. We appreciate how the home has done everything possible to maintain contact with relatives, adapting to the changing circumstances. Finborough Court has a special peaceful, contented, atmosphere where its family members are respectfully and compassionately looked after. We appreciate and commend the efforts of all the staff who achieve this.

When my father required care, I was very pleased that Finborough Court had already agreed, in a helpful process, to place him on their waiting list, enabling them to accept him as a resident very quickly. I was very impressed with the support given during this process. My father's care in Finborough
Court was excellent and adapted as his health deteriorated during his two and one-half years there. Both carers and senior staff worked closely with me in managing his care and kept me very well informed throughout. The atmosphere in the home was one of love and care for all the residents. My father, when able, was very complimentary about the care he was receiving. I also felt cared for and loved by the staff. During the very difficult period when my father was dying and COVID restrictions were in place, I was so thankful for the thoughtfulness shown in their caring handling of this situation and ensuring that I had time with my father to the extent allowed. Mum is very happy here and well looked after. Everywhere is lovely and clean comfortable, Mum's room is nice and she loves it that her personal belongings are displayed for her. Any staff we meet on visiting are lovely and kind, such a comfort to us to know Mum is cared for so well.

I have spent time at Finborough Court many times over a number of years. I have always found it a most welcoming place. Usually, I am accompanied by my PAT dog, and he is always totally at home there as well. I am impressed with the way residents receive spiritual as well as physical care. I would be

As a regular visitor to the Home over many years, I have had opportunities to observe the care, attention and personal commitment of the staff to the residents. Even when residents who suffer from dementia are proving difficult to deal with, the staff will do all they can to calm the situation and
give loving attention to those affected.
The staff seek to create a "home environment" for the residents by getting them involved in various activities, such as baking, handcrafts, simple games, singing, etc.
Regular Christian devotions are a key element of the Home's ethos, with local Ministers and lay personnel attending to take services.
When the weather permits, residents are able to enjoy the garden and view the beauty of the Suffolk countryside.

I am a member of a volunteer charity.


My uncle and aunt moved into Finborough Court at the end of 2019. They were very warmly welcomed and have much enjoyed the fellowship with other residents and the care provided ever since. They say that they now wish that they had moved in many years ago!

Rachel

Rachel Fishburne

Job Title: Care manager

Rachel has been registered by the Care Quality Commission as qualified, competent and experienced for the task of managing the home. She has been at Finborough Court for 30 years in 2025 and has experienced working in all the roles in the home, initially serving as a Care Nurse Manager, now a Registered Care Manager. She is responsible for all care staff who, in turn, report to the senior in charge of their shift.

Karen joined Finborough Court in 2021 and oversees all the business elements of the home such as maintenance, ancillary services (kitchen and housekeeping) and the financial administration.


Karen lives locally with her husband, two teenagers and Peggy the cocker spaniel.

Job Title: Activities and Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitator Joined: 2023

Simon fulfils the lives of our family daily through leading times of devotion, leading afternoon activities and holding a monthly 'Family Meeting'. He arranges services led by local preachers as well as visits from local schools, from under 5's to secondary pupils. He arranges visits from entertainers throughout the year as well as regular trips out. This includes the annual trip to the seaside at Felixstowe 'Hub' which includes fish and chips, a stroll on the promenade and a paddle in the sea for the bravest individuals!


Being a talented musician, he fills our home with love and music, and nothing is too much trouble for him.
