Anchor’s The Firs in Felixstowe is a purpose-built care home, providing quality care and facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home continues to welcome new residents and it is set in its own gardens for customers and their families to enjoy.

The home provides residential care which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life. The care team works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure each individual’s health and care needs are continually met.

Anchor offers dementia care and provides on-going training for staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice.

Very friendly staff and carers. Always helpful. Always seems very clean every time I visit, nice big spacious room if you want to get away from the TV lounge etc.

A care home, purpose-built to a high standard and beautifully maintained. The whole team of staff work extremely hard to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for their residents.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are in extremely worrying times. All families with loved ones in care

A very comfortable home for the residents. Well taken care of in pleasant surroundings. Good quality food and drink provided with a great team of staff. Management team always happy and helpful. It's a difficult time at the moment with the coronavirus, but feel very happy for the safety and care during
these troubled times. We know my mother-in-law is being looked after with love and care.

The Firs is always clean and tidy, it doesn't smell of urine. "First thing I noticed". Food is served looks good, always on time. The residents look happy and are often singing. My friend doesn't mix much, however, she is happy in her own little way. Staff brilliant.

In my review, I have always found The Firs very very clean and the maintenance is impeccable. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. My brother's health and wellbeing has improved remarkably since being at The Firs and as his younger brother I have seen his general wellbeing grow in leaps
and bounds.

Staff are all very friendly and caring towards my father.
There had been a recent incident that resulted in a hospital stay for my father. A full investigation was carried out by home management and following 3 meetings we (the family) are all content that lessons have been learnt and addressed.

We find The Firs a really friendly home. The rooms are really comfortable and nice and clean, very nicely decorated. And all the Carers are really welcoming and caring. We have been around when food has been served, and it looks quite delicious, one day it was prawn salad, one day was chicken goujons
with croquette potatoes, each night there is a good selection available. There is always soup, mixed sandwiches, cake. In fact, I would have been tempted myself. The Carers are very welcoming, we can as visitors help ourselves at any time to coffee, teas or soft drinks. My Sister-in-Law has seemed to have settled in well.

The Firs is very homely and welcoming. It provides excellent home cooked food with a choice of menus each day. Local churches go in and take services on a regular basis. Excellent activities planned and my only concern i.e that the shifts were changed from 8hrs to 12hrs and I feel that is far too long
when you are caring for residents with dementia. This has also meant that staff have left.

I have always found the staff to be friendly and attentive towards the residents. The home itself is kept clean and tidy. The decorations are seasonal and changed regularly with the help of the residents who are encouraged to take part in weekly craft activities. The home and grounds are spacious and
easy to move around even in a wheelchair.

The care of my mother is professional but also caring. They managed to cope when she was having a bad patch and behaving in a very challenging way. Now she is much happier and they do very well with her basic needs. Also activities and fun things to do.

I have only been twice but I can already see that this is a very nice place and yesterday the hall was full up with a 'music man' who was very good and got some singing and the rest of their attention.
