Staff are very friendly and bubbly. Treat Mum with great kindness and patience. To the extent Mum calls it "home". She has been at Woodfield Court for 8 years, reaching 100 in Jan. The staff and care she receives made that possible.

Lovely care home, nice bright clean rooms and well kept grounds. But what stands out is the staff, all friendly from the moment you walk in and nothing is too much trouble. They don't just care for mum, they take a real interest, have a laugh and make mum smile even when she is going through some tough moments.

I visit my sister regularly, and I am made to feel welcome as soon as I enter the front door. This continues throught my visit, being greeted and spoken to by every member of staff. My sister is well looked after and cared for. Her room is lovely, and she is encouraged to go to the dining room and lounges to interact with the other residents. However, if she stays in her room staff call in to see if she needs anything and is okay. I cannot recomment Woodfield Court enough. Excellent!

My mother has been living at Woodfield Court for a couple of years now. This home has a genuine family feel to it. The staff really seem to care about the residents and provide personal care with consideration and dignity. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone.

Mum arrived 28/02/25 and was greeted by friendly staff, which put Mum at ease. Nice extra touches in room, and it's always fine when you ring to speak to Mum or them. Over and above to make mum feel safe and happy. The carers wonderful, office staff wonderful.
Very friendly, homely feel.
Lots to do and encouragement to mix.

Made the move very easy for us as a family.

We realised that Mum was no longer able to live alone in her flat in Stowmarket, where she has lived for many years and has many friends, her eyesight was failing, she was frail and had had a couple of falls around her flat. Having talked through her needs with Mum, we decided (with her full agreement) that she would be better off living somewhere where she could have security, care and comfort, she did express a wish to continue living in Stowmarket (I do not live in Suffolk) so she could continue contact with her friends. We identified three possible care homes in the town and visited Woodfield Court with Mum to view the facilities and to discuss the moving in process. Woodfield was the one that people had spoken of being the best out of those we viewed. Made welcome on the initial visit, everything was explained to us. Mum's moving in day was hard but staff made her feel welcome and soon put her at ease. Always cheerful, she gets on well with staff, I am happy Mum chose Woodfield Court.

Woodfield Court has a warm and friendly atmosphere engendered by the caring, hardworking and welcoming staff and management team. There are celebrations, events and activities (personal and national) for all tastes and abilities. Meals are of a high standard with a good choice. Residents are encouraged to make choices and decisions to give a feeling of ownership and belonging and care in a safe environment. A lovely home, I couldn't ask for more.

After a series of falls at her home and a short stay at hospital, we moved my mother into Woodfield Court with the idea that it would be a temporary arrangement, to beef her up before she returned home. The manager there couldn’t have been more helpful and made the task easy.
So mum moved in, and we were immediately aware of what a thoughtful and caring bunch of people they are. Woodfield Court gave us a special treat in allowing us to have Christmas lunch with mum; it was quite touching... so touching, that mum tearfully told us she loves it here, and she didn’t want to go home. So she stayed; Now 6 months on and she still loves it there.

It’s the staff that make Woodfield Court special; Always smiling, and nothing seems too much trouble. My mother loves the vast array of daily activities and is often tired but never bored. I’ve never had anything to do with care homes until now so feel unable to compare, but couldn’t wish for a better one.

They have looked after my mother superbly. She was happy there. The staff are caring and supportive. The mixing of those with dementia with those who are just frail is beneficial to both groups. I cannot thank them enough.

Can not thank all of the staff and careers for the support and understanding they have provided for my father over the last twelve months in what have been very challenging and difficult circumstances. Their understanding is second to none, they work well as a team whilst providing individual care to their residents. I am a frequent visitor to the home and have never seen anything other than staff at all levels providing a first-rate and compassionate service.

I went for afternoon tea with my dad yesterday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. They had decorated the tea room up lovely for Christmas. I even got a Christmas card and present from my dad which was a lovely touch.

Dad has been a resident for just over two years, and he seems to enjoy what the home has to offer. Staff always seem friendly, helpful and attentive. Would be nice if they wore a uniform. This did happen during early 2021 but recently has stopped. I, as a visitor, take care, I think they should also.

Reply from Simon Gibbs, Manager at Woodfield Court

Thank you for your feedback. Staff have worn uniforms or changed clothes when they arrive and leave the home during the pandemic, but in normal times, we do not. The reason for this is that we feel a uniform becomes a barrier between the resident and the staff member, we are trying to create a family feel within the home and feel a uniform can get in the way of this.

All the staff were friendly. Mum was treated with dignity, when they felt she needed medical assistance her wishes were granted and they supported her throughout. It is an old Victorian house so the rooms are small, the only downside means the toilet and washing facilities made the room even smaller. Every member of staff knew her name and were always polite when we visited (which unfortunately was limited due to Covid but then no one (staff or residents) contracted it.)

Mum has been a resident for over 2 years and I’ve nothing but praise for the staff. They work tirelessly when I’m sure they’re short-staffed and they have been absolutely fantastic throughout the pandemic. There isn’t a huge turnaround of staff which is nice because there’s a continuity of care which also shows because of an obvious connection between staff and residents. My mum recently had a short spell in hospital and I can honestly say I couldn’t wait for her to get back to Woodfield Court to people she knew and who were genuinely concerned for her.

My mother has been a resident of Woodfield Court since June 2018. She settled in very quickly and is happy and well cared for and above all, safe.
The staff are all kind and considerate, no matter how busy they are and Mum has never complained about her care.
Mum fell and broke her hip in March and was sent back to Woodfield Court within a week and the care she has received since has been excellent and she is making very good progress.

She is 93 years old.
