Winfield Lodge Residential Home

From the minute we walked into Winfield Lodge we knew that this was the place for Mum to live. We were greeted by Dawn when we arrived and were quickly put at ease by her calm and friendly manner. We were offered a cup of tea as we spoke about Mum's care needs before being given a guided tour and shown a room that was available. Once the decision was made the process was smooth and once Mum's room had been redecorated, she was able to move in. Mum has been there for 5 months now and her progress has been amazing. We, as a family, are hugely grateful to all the lovely, friendly, caring staff who have helped her so well

My husband has now been in the home for over a year and he is very happy there. The staff are amazing and so caring and helpful. He couldn't be in a better place. It has taken a load off my mind knowing that he is safe and well looked after. I wouldn't want him to be anywhere else.

The staff are always helpful and friendly in person and on the phone. I am always contacted if any issue has arisen.

From the time you walk through the front door, you are always greeted with a smile. The receptionist is lovely and very welcoming. My mum seems very happy and well cared for. The care staff I feel, go over and above to meet the residents needs - it was a difficult day. When I left Mum at Winfield, but now I know it was the best day for her ...

Thank you for such a lovely afternoon Friday 13th June. The Manager and all the staff must have worked so hard to make such a success for residents and family members. A big thank you to you all it was lovely.

On the 27th |April I arranged a family gathering to celebrate my mother's 98th birthday at Winfield Lodge. The manager very kindly organised a location within the Lodge where we could hold the gathering. The staff on duty went beyond expectation and decorated the room, provided tea, coffee, juices and biscuits - and a cake! My mother thoroughly enjoyed her party with her family. She has not been a resident very long at Winfield but I can say that the manager and staff daily demonstrate such kindness, patience and caring to her which she now needs. It was a difficult decision moving her into a care home and it is a big adjustment for her but she is getting there with the support of the staff. Her room with ensuite, fridge etc is a good size and my mother loves to sit in the spacious garden admiring the giant trees. I feel reassured by the attention the staff give her that we have made the right decision by placing her at Winfield Lodge.

Compliments to Winfield people.

The broken sign for "Winfield" and the very bad state of the driveway for both drivers and walkers do not give a good impression. A further recommendation would be an open porch to the main door to protect visitors waiting to access the building.

I'm very happy with the care my father has been receiving. The staff are all very happy and friendly and always try to encourage my father to join in with any activities. It was a difficult decision for my family to put dad in to care but with the help and support of all the staff it has really eased our minds. I can only thank the staff for the amazing job they do.

I drove down to Winfield Lodge to wish my mother a 'Happy Bithday'. The staff were so kind and gentle with her. All the staff at Winfield seem calm and nothing is too much trouble. They were wonderful with mum on her birthday and really made her feel special.

The general atmosphere of Winfield Lodge is both caring but relaxed. They make an effort to provide stimulating activities for the residents - e.g. taking them for pub lunches. They deal with residents in a sensitive manner - expressing respect at all times.

Unfortunately my sister is near end of life. But still treated with dignity, keep up the good work.

Lots of activities in the afternoon and Mum loves her weekly appointment with the hairdresser.

Excellent care, a warm, safe, clean, cheerful environment. Plenty of well-trained, friendly staff are always on hand to assist. Food is good and plentiful. Fresh fruit always available. Activities in the day room. My father was comfortable, safe and well cared for during his 6-week respite stay.

My mother appears very content. She comments positively about the staff. I find the staff friendly and helpful.

My father has been in Winfield Lodge for nearly 2 years. Throughout he has received excellent and sympathetic care. He is always treated with dignity and I am kept informed about any issues and involved in the decision-making process relating to his care. The staff are always friendly and willing to answer any questions I have. I won't single anyone out because the whole team are obviously dedicated to the work they do.

Excellent care. Staff are very friendly, caring and professional. Residents are encouraged not to stay in thier room. Excellent range of activities in and outside the home for all categories of residents. Relatives are treated with care and respect as well. My dad has been there for two years and has no regrets.

Staff all demonstrate a very high standard of care, professionalism and also personalised care at the same time. Clearly very well aligned to the same goals and treat all residents and visitors with dignity and respect as well as keeping relatives informed of relevant events. My mum has great confidence in the staff and the care provided. A warm, safe, clean, environment with a range of activities and reassuring attentiveness.

The care is of a very high standard and I am very pleased my mother is looked after with so much care and consideration for her needs. It is a lovely environment to visit and for my mother to spend time in. I am very appreciative of what all the staff do for my mother.

My mother has been a resident at Winfield Lodge for two years now. I was happy with the level of care at the start and I am also happy with the level of care to date. All the staff are caring and provide the sort of care that I would like to received and want. The whole team are worthy of mentions, such as the manager and senior care coordinator. There are many I would like to name, but only haven't because I do not have their details.
