Winfield Lodge is located in the Lower Weston area of Bath. The impressive locale boasts luscious gardens and parks which are home to some of Bath’s many heritage sites.   

Winfield Lodge has recently undergone some landscape improvements, helping to enable residents to safely have full use of the home’s naturally leafy forecourt.

The home is divided into three wings, each encompassing large en-suite bedrooms complete with generous living areas and individual kitchenettes.

The Eveleigh wing; consisting of 11 bedrooms is for residents living with dementia and requiring assistance with activities of daily living.

The Belvedere wing; consisting of 24 bedrooms is for residents requiring residential care.

The Darcy wing; consisting of 13 bedrooms is for residents requiring residential care.

There’s a very relaxed but lively pace of life at a Cedar Care home and flexible about routines: each person chooses what to do, and when the day will begin and end for the resident.

When my wife had to be put in a home, she said there is no way I will ever go into a home. After visiting a few homes, we picked Winfield Lodge.
With trepidation, we took her to the home and expected a lot of reaction from her. Within a week, the staff had her settled in find and she now calls it home.

My mum has been in the home for 5 months now and has settled in really well. The staff and facilities have helped in that transition.
They are well catered for and looked after and the staff give them the level of individual care and stimulation needed for each person's different levels of needs. Great
summer fete was put on and a lovely day and turn out.

The manager is extremely warm and welcoming, very friendly and reassuring.
My mother's room is of a very high standard and other areas of Winfield Lodge are very good.
The staff are all friendly, kind and considerate, also very respectful.
I feel reassured my mother will be well catered for at Winfield
Lodge.

My uncle has been at Winfield Lodge from January 2019. He was very active and liked his own space. Disorientate by vascular dementia, the first few weeks could have been a problem. The staff knew exactly how to defuse the situation, the best way to soothe and reassure. I am impressed by the staff, their
training and experience shows. There is a full range of activities available each day. It has given my uncle a new lease of life. The recent refurbishment, still keeping with the style of the building has given it a more up to date feel, lighter and relaxing. It is always a difficult time for a family, but we can see he is well looked after and he seems more relaxed than he did at home.

The main thing which needs to be improved is the food. The chefs, especially the main chef, do their best but some of the food they are supplied with is poor. e.g. Meat, fishcakes and fingers (little fish) etc. Far too much cake. Not enough choice of food. Since Cedar Care took over they have mainly
taken in residents with either dementia or needing a lot of nursing care so the nature of the home has now changed. Often not enough staff on duty to cope with this.

My father has been a resident for a year now, starting when they had another owner. I must say the "homely" feeling has changed - it seems more like a business. The staff are brilliant. More outings would be nice to garden centres etc to very the residents' interest and lessen their institutionalisation.

When we made our first visit to Woodland Grove, we were impressed by the high level of friendliness with which we were greeted; this has continued throughout. My aunt was always treated with great care, humour and dignity. Towards the end of her life she considered, with affection, that Woodland Grove
really was her home.

All staff are very welcoming - care of residents is exceptionally kind, thoughtful and efficient.
Food - Well balanced menus, good quality food, well cooked, the chef even made a birthday cake (instigated by staff)
Room - light, well proportioned, leafy view, very well furnished, light colours.
Very
good gardens, a variety of trees, well kept, no fussy beds, lots of grass, very professional.

Although a Woodlands Grove resident for a short period, I was very pleased with the treatment and attention my husband received and I would certainly be happy for him to return should this be necessary.
The staff were always courteous and helpful to me and my family which was very gratifying and comforting.

A wonderful care home, very comfortable and warm. Rooms were extremely well furnished, like home from home. Staff were all outstanding, very kind and caring to all residents. I don't believe you could find better staff anywhere. My thanks and gratitude to them all.

Our family are very happy with the care my mother receives here. The staff are very attentive and caring, as you would hope - my mother has dementia and often forgets where she is but she trusts the staff and regards them as her friends. Her room is lovely - spacious (unlike many other homes we have
visited) and kept very clean. The dining area is warm and welcoming, and my mother seems to enjoy her meals there.


We were pleased and relieved when the home passed its recent inspection so well - the staff and management had all worked hard to show that it is, in fact, an excellent care home (which my family and I have always experienced). Management are very responsive to our concerns and requests - I really appreciate the open door management policy and friendly reception whenever I visit.

My mum always told myself and my siblings never to put her in 'a home'. Mum moved to Woodland Grove in August 2015 as she couldn't look after herself and the carers were struggling.
Since Mum has been at Woodland Grove she has been extremely well looked after and I have no concerns now about her diet,
cleanliness and overall well-being.
The other day whilst I was visiting, Mum was sat in the lounge having a cup of tea. She looked around the room at everybody then said to me very genuinely. 'I really love it here, they (the staff) are really lovely and take good care of me.' I couldn't have been happier seeing the big smile on her face.

Mum was moved to Woodland Grove because her previous home was closed due to financial problems (the staff were unable to be maintained), agency was used. Since moving to Woodland Grove mum has been much happier and the staff are cheerful and understanding of Mums needs. Activities take place every day

I really appreciate being able to go to Church most Sundays as my faith is important to me. The staff help me to get ready and a member of the activities team takes me. It's good to feel part of the local community.

I cannot fault this place. Having now been taken over by new management, I find the team and staff (many new recruits) are absolutely brilliant. My father is treated with respect, dignity and given support as required, while also allowing him freedom and choice in his daily routine. We researched care
homes in Bath for several months before choosing this place, and are delighted to have made the right choice. The rooms are en-suite and spacious.
