My mother recently passed away after spending three years in Beaufort House, Hawkesbury Upton.
She was very happy in the home, all the staff were very caring and friendly. She enjoyed the daily afternoon activities and loved having her hair and nails done every week.
Thank you all so much for everything
you have done for her.

My nanna moved into the home in 2021. I was so worried because you hear all of the horror stories of care homes. That was so far away from the truth. They truly are amazing. They care so much about the residents and the love they give them is unreal. My nanna was so happy there. Her dementia got so
bad she couldn't remember who Mum and I were but she was always so happy to see us because of how happy she was. Not only did they make Nanna feel so welcome, they made us feel so welcome as well. They kept us updated on absolutely everything if anything changed. My nanna passed in June and they felt exactly the same as we did. They felt like they lost a family member as well. The support and love that we got from them after Nanna had passed was truly amazing. If any of your family members move into the home, never ever be worried about the care they will be given. They will never be so cared for and loved anywhere compared to there. Thank you so much everyone. I can never thank you enough.

My mum has been a happy resident of Beaufort House for seven years. We have a good relationship with both the manager and the carers. All the staff are universally kind and patient and will go out of their way to make all the residents feel safe, entertained and cared for. They know my mum well.
Monday
through to Friday, there is a wide range of afternoon activities and entertainment for all the residents, organised and run by the lovely activities coordinator. My mum and the other residents love their afternoons as we see when visiting. There is also a peaceful garden to be enjoyed when the weather is fine.
If my mum is ever poorly, I am informed immediately and any medical concerns she is put on the list to be assessed by their doctor that week.
It is a small and cosy care home so doesn't feel clinical or impersonal but like a home, which was important to us for our mum. We wouldn't want her anywhere else.

In the period of just over a year since my mother-in-law has been a resident, I have found the staff to be overwhelmingly, caring, hardworking and efficient. An excellent variety of good entertainment and activities are also provided for residents. The building is perhaps not ideal for the purpose but
has been well adapted and has a good location and outlook. Mother-in-law has settled well and has thrived in their care.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.376)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.376) out of 10 for Beaufort House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.983 for Beaufort House is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.983
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.393 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaufort House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.6 = 0.893
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
