Mum has been at Lovell Place for 2 years. Despite having lived in her family home for over 60 years the care and support shown by staff has continued since the day she moved in, making her feel respected & special. She calls it her home and loves spending time there, enjoying the activities provided and the modern, clean and friendly environment. I enjoy visiting her in the home 3 or 4 times a week and always feel welcome. Any comments by me or Mum are always taken seriously and any ailments/illness treated so caringly. We could not have chosen a better place for Mum to spend the remainder of her time in this quality care home. I do often recommend it to others. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Lovell Place

Reply from Jasmine Wareham, Home Ambassador at Lovell Place Care Home

After more than sixty years in her family home, hearing that your mum now calls Lovell Place hers is the highest compliment we could be paid. Two years on, it's lovely that the welcome still feels the same for you as well, whether it's your first visit of the week or your fourth. Knowing you both...

Choosing a care home was a sudden change for my sister and I. We originally booked respite care for my 90-year-old dad, but he has loved it so much that he's decided to stay.
From the very beginning, the team have been friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the home is always spotless, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.
It's a huge reassurance to know there are nurses on site 24/7, especially as Dad's diabetes needs to be closely monitored day and night. The nurses have provided lots of information and have gone to great lengths to really help us to get better control of this - something we've struggled with for a long time.
There are plenty of activities for Dad to enjoy and, above all, he is happy, relaxed and making new friends!

We couldn't be happier with Dads' decision to stay. I would highly recommend Lovell Place to anyone looking for a lovely, hotel-like environment with professional and genuinely caring people.

Reply from Jasmine Wareham, Home Ambassador at Lovell Place Care Home

A respite stay that turns into a decision to stay for good says everything - your dad clearly feels at home here, and that's exactly what we hope for. It's especially good to hear that having nurses on site around the clock has brought real reassurance, and that they've been able to work alongside...

A very nice suite of rooms which made the respite care so much easier for my Mum. She had her own lounge and a small kitchen, in addition to the en suite bedroom. Very friendly staff and a nice cafe downstairs.

Reply from Jasmine Wareham, Home Ambassador at Lovell Place Care Home

What a lovely thing to read - thank you. Respite is often a big step for a family, so knowing the suite worked so well for your mum, with her own lounge and kitchen alongside the en-suite bedroom, means a great deal to us. It's wonderful too that she found the team friendly and enjoyed the caf. We'll happily pass your kind words on to everyone at Lovell Place.

Mum stayed at Lovall Place for 2 weeks whilst we had a holiday. She loved it. It was her holiday. Five star all inclusive. It was 6 weeks ago and she is still talking about it. I think she's looking for a job as she spends a lot of time recommending it to all her lady friends. Special thanks to all the staff who she can't speak highly enough. Now she can't wait for us to be off on holiday again !!! For those who can remember..she was Maggs the sherry queen. Oops now I'm in trouble !!

My elderly mother has a diagnosis of mixed dementia and has been a resident at Lovell Place for just over a month. The decision to move mum from her independent flat was taken in her best interests, and I can only thank all staff at Lovell Place for their understanding of what has not been a straightforward situation. Mum is not the easiest of personalities and can now be quite demanding and opinionated, yet everyone has shown the utmost care and compassion, seeing her as an individual and trying to do their best to support her and help her settle into her new surroundings. I feel reassured that mum is now in safe hands, and appreciate the support that staff have given to me and my family over the past weeks.

Lovell Place was recommended to me, and I can now see why. I would not hesitate to recommend it to other families in similar situations.

I went to the Harpist evening last night. I was great! Lovell Place put un a fantastic event for the Residents and us relatives. There was wine, cheese and biscuits plus mince pies during the break. The harpist was super. She played a mixture of carols, and present and even some classical. My wife has Alzheimer's and loves singing so she was very happy! So was I!

The staff as always we helpful and welcoming and looked after the residents' needs amazingly well.

Both my husband and I came in for respite care as I was experiencing difficulties in coping and managing. We found the facilities and staff very helpful and reassuring and put us at ease. My husband wasn't keen in leaving our home but I told him it was a 5 star hotel we were going to and the treatment we received was like it.

We are hoping to return again later in the years to recharge my batteries. We cannot thank the staff enough fir the care and attention we received.

My Dad came for respite care at Lovell Place when unfortunately he was much worse health wise than anyone realised. Lovell place responded on a Saturday evening to a request for this respite care and this had to be agreed very quickly, within a few hours, as he was coming from near Nottingham to Bristol on the Sunday. Lovell pulled out the stops and welcomed my Dad in. Another home failed to give a decision. Getting Dad to Bristol quickly was essential and Lovell place responded quickly.. Thank you. Dad was not well at all but still he was made as comfortable as possible, for example they were able to get him a more comfortable sofa chair quickly. Dad was only with Lovell place for a few days however they cared for him and made him feel as welcome as possible.

I cannot praise Lovell Place Care Home enough for how welcome they made us feel and how well they looked after my parents in July when they stayed there for respite care. All of the staff/homemakers were soo caring and understanding and they realky could not have done anymore for them. In the 3 weeks that they were there they went on numerous outings, took part in the daily activities and were made to feel like it was their home.
My Dad is an avid gardener so leaving his garden for 3 weeks was hard but he was able to potter around the gardens actively taking part and encouraged by all of the staff/homemakers this meant that my Mum could sit and read (which is what she likes to do) without worrying about my Dad as she knew that he was safe.
Both my parents loved being there and described it like a 5 star hotel.

When they went back home after the 3 weeks my Mum described herself as being refreshed and had already decided that she was going back there soon for another 'holiday'.

It was a pleasure to have had mum and dad stay with us and to see how they both enjoyed their stay. Dad helped us greatly with advice and help in the gardens with attending to the pots, raised flower and herb beds. Mum enjoyed reading her Kindle in the Bistro and it was wonderful to see them both...

My 92 year old fathers health deteriorated and it became difficult for my mother and the family to care for him at home. A friend recommended Lovell Place. We were welcomed at one initial visit and given excellent advice and support by one of the staff members. This continued throughout his stay.

Dad was admitted for a 2 week respite stay which was extended to 7 weeks before he passed away 24/3. We cannot fault the care both personal and nursing. All staff were professional and welcoming to my dad, my mother and his family. We cannot thank Lovell Place enough.
