My first impression of Lovell Place was WOW. The reception area was so bright and cheerful. It had a lovely relaxed feel to it. The staff we met on the initial visit were very friendly. We were shown round the memory floor where my sister would live if accepted after her assessment and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I couldn't believe how many carers they had on duty which was really comforting to see. She was accepted and moved into Lovell Place and after a period of settling in with the amazing help from the staff I now see my sister in a very happy place. I thought it was unbelievable that within a couple of weeks they had assessed my sister's behaviour, knew what she liked and didn't like and observed her from a discreet distance to monitor her whereabouts and behaviour .
Thank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful review. We know that moving a loved one into care is never an easy decision, particularly after a difficult experience elsewhere, so we are truly grateful that you placed your trust in us. Thank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful review. We know that moving a loved one into care is never an easy decision, particularly after a difficult experience elsewhere, so we are truly grateful that you placed your trust in us. It has been a privilege to get to know your sister as an individual, learning about her routines, preferences and the things that bring her comfort and happiness. We are delighted to hear that you have seen such a positive change in her and that she feels safe, settled and at home at Lovell Place. Thank you for your kind words and continued support.

A very caring and well run home. Staff are dedicated and cheerful, keen to help and listen to any concerns. Plenty of activities arranged from musical acts to nursery children visiting to Chinese supper nights. Family are involved in all decision making and kept up to date with any changes or issues. GP visits are weekly and infections etc are picked up and dealt with quickly. Dedicated nurse is a point of contact for your relative and are happy to discuss how they are and if there is anything they need. Rooms are lovely and cleaned thoroughly. Mum is calm and contented.

Being kept properly in the loop matters just as much, and we're pleased that having a familiar point of contact has made that easier for you. I am writing this review on behalf of my Mum. She stayed in Lovells for 2 weeks for respite and to see how she got on. She will need a further period of respite in September for longer and I have no doubt about booking her into Lovells again. Mum surprised us all by thoroughly enjoying her stay. It isn't easy to let a loved one go. The staff were very friendly, polite and professional. They went above and beyond to make Mum welcome and comfortable throughout her time there. She had a lovely room (apartment) which catered for all of her needs. Lovells doesn't present like your everyday care home. It feels more like a luxury hotel. The staff clearly enjoy what they do and treat the residents like real people. It feels more like a family set up. There is always plenty to do. You can get involved or not in the activities. There's a hairdressers, a beauty bar and a coffee area. I have to particularly thank Jasmin, Marla the Manager and the Nurse for their kindness, support and feedback.

Handing over your mum's care for a fortnight is a big step, so hearing that she surprised you all by thoroughly enjoying it is about the best news we could have had. We're glad she could dip into the activitie, and that the whole place felt more like family than a care home; that's very much the intention. We'll look forward to welcoming her back in September, and the few people you've singled out will know exactly who they are.

Mum has been at Lovell Place for 2 years. Despite having lived in her family home for over 60 years the care and support shown by staff has continued since the day she moved in, making her feel respected & special. She calls it her home and loves spending time there, enjoying the activities provided and the modern, clean and friendly environment. I enjoy visiting her in the home 3 or 4 times a week and always feel welcome. Any comments by me or Mum are always taken seriously and any ailments/illness treated so caringly. We could not have chosen a better place for Mum to spend the remainder of her time in this quality care home. I do often recommend it to others. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Lovell Place

Two years on, it's lovely that the welcome still feels the same for you as well, whether it's your first visit of the week or your fourth. From the very beginning, the team have been friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the home is always spotless, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.
It's a huge reassurance to know there are nurses on site 24/7, especially as Dad's diabetes needs to be closely monitored day and night. The nurses have provided lots of information and have gone to great lengths to really help us to get better control of this - something we've struggled with for a long time.
There are plenty of activities for Dad to enjoy and, above all, he is happy, relaxed and making new friends!
We couldn't be happier with Dads' decision to stay. I would highly recommend Lovell Place to anyone looking for a lovely, hotel-like environment with professional and genuinely caring people.

A very nice suite of rooms which made the respite care so much easier for my Mum. She had her own lounge and a small kitchen, in addition to the en suite bedroom. Very friendly staff and a nice cafe downstairs.

What a lovely thing to read - thank you. Respite is often a big step for a family, so knowing the suite worked so well for your mum, with her own lounge and kitchen alongside the en-suite bedroom, means a great deal to us. It's wonderful too that she found the team friendly and enjoyed the caf. We'll happily pass your kind words on to everyone at Lovell Place.

Lovell Place was recommended to me, and I can now see why. I would not hesitate to recommend it to other families in similar situations.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear that your mother has been welcomed with care and compassion at Lovell Place. Supporting both residents and their families during times of transition is incredibly important to us, and your kind words mean a great deal to the whole team. My Dad came for respite care at Lovell Place when unfortunately he was much worse health wise than anyone realised. Lovell place responded on a Saturday evening to a request for this respite care and this had to be agreed very quickly, within a few hours, as he was coming from near Nottingham to Bristol on the Sunday. Lovell pulled out the stops and welcomed my Dad in. Another home failed to give a decision. Getting Dad to Bristol quickly was essential and Lovell place responded quickly.. Thank you. Dad was not well at all but still he was made as comfortable as possible, for example they were able to get him a more comfortable sofa chair quickly. Dad was only with Lovell place for a few days however they cared for him and made him feel as welcome as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It was a privilege to be able to support your father and you as a family. We pride ourselves on delivering the very best care and support so thank you for acknowledging this.
The care was excellent, all the staff went above and beyond, they were so kind to us when visiting. The faciltities were excellent, food as good as any five star hotel. I would recommend this nursing home to everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to complete such a wonderful review for our home. It was our pleasure to have had mum and day stay with us and I know initially Dad was not too sure if he wanted to come but to see him smiling within the first couple of days and embracing his stay to the full was fantastic to see. Mum was able to get the rest she needed and deserved and when meeting her recently at an event in the community she looked great. We are really looking forward to both mum and dad coming back for another holiday as they like to refer to their stay and thank you once again for completing the review.

My Dad is an avid gardener so leaving his garden for 3 weeks was hard but he was able to potter around the gardens actively taking part and encouraged by all of the staff/homemakers this meant that my Mum could sit and read (which is what she likes to do) without worrying about my Dad as she knew that he was safe.
Both my parents loved being there and described it like a 5 star hotel.
When they went back home after the 3 weeks my Mum described herself as being refreshed and had already decided that she was going back there soon for another 'holiday'.
It was a pleasure to have had mum and dad stay with us and to see how they both enjoyed their stay. Dad helped us greatly with advice and help in the gardens with attending to the pots, raised flower and herb beds. Very happy with dads care here. He is confused at times and the carers are very kind and gentle with him. He has been out in the garden and use the restaurant sometimes. They check on his welfare regularly, which is very good.
