My first impression of Lovell Place was WOW. The reception area was so bright and cheerful. It had a lovely relaxed feel to it. The staff we met on the initial visit were very friendly. We were shown round the memory floor where my sister would live if accepted after her assessment and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I couldn't believe how many carers they had on duty which was really comforting to see. She was accepted and moved into Lovell Place and after a period of settling in with the amazing help from the staff I now see my sister in a very happy place. I thought it was unbelievable that within a couple of weeks they had assessed my sister's behaviour, knew what she liked and didn't like and observed her from a discreet distance to monitor her whereabouts and behaviour .

A very caring and well run home. Staff are dedicated and cheerful, keen to help and listen to any concerns. Plenty of activities arranged from musical acts to nursery children visiting to Chinese supper nights. Family are involved in all decision making and kept up to date with any changes or issues. GP visits are weekly and infections etc are picked up and dealt with quickly. Dedicated nurse is a point of contact for your relative and are happy to discuss how they are and if there is anything they need. Rooms are lovely and cleaned thoroughly. Mum is calm and contented.

I am writing this review on behalf of my Mum. She stayed in Lovells for 2 weeks for respite and to see how she got on. She will need a further period of respite in September for longer and I have no doubt about booking her into Lovells again. Mum surprised us all by thoroughly enjoying her stay. It isn't easy to let a loved one go. The staff were very friendly, polite and professional. They went above and beyond to make Mum welcome and comfortable throughout her time there. She had a lovely room (apartment) which catered for all of her needs. Lovells doesn't present like your everyday care home. It feels more like a luxury hotel. The staff clearly enjoy what they do and treat the residents like real people. It feels more like a family set up. There is always plenty to do. You can get involved or not in the activities. There's a hairdressers, a beauty bar and a coffee area. I have to particularly thank Jasmin, Marla the Manager and the Nurse for their kindness, support and feedback.

Despite having lived in her family home for over 60 years the care and support shown by staff has continued since the day she moved in, making her feel respected & special. She calls it her home and loves spending time there, enjoying the activities provided and the modern, clean and friendly environment. I enjoy visiting her in the home 3 or 4 times a week and always feel welcome. Any comments by me or Mum are always taken seriously and any ailments/illness treated so caringly. My Dad came for respite care at Lovell Place when unfortunately he was much worse health wise than anyone realised. Lovell place responded on a Saturday evening to a request for this respite care and this had to be agreed very quickly, within a few hours, as he was coming from near Nottingham to Bristol on the Sunday. Lovell pulled out the stops and welcomed my Dad in. Another home failed to give a decision. Getting Dad to Bristol quickly was essential and Lovell place responded quickly.. Thank you. Dad was not well at all but still he was made as comfortable as possible, for example they were able to get him a more comfortable sofa chair quickly. Dad was only with Lovell place for a few days however they cared for him and made him feel as welcome as possible.

Mum was able to get the rest she needed and deserved and when meeting her recently at an event in the community she looked great. We are really looking forward to both mum and dad coming back for another holiday as they like to refer to their stay and thank you once again for completing the review.

Very happy with dads care here. He is confused at times and the carers are very kind and gentle with him. He has been out in the garden and use the restaurant sometimes. They check on his welfare regularly, which is very good.

She has volunteered with organisations including Street Child United in India and Qatar for a period of time, as well as Hope from Harm, an emotional support for victims of crime. During her time at University, she was President of the Women's Football Team. Alongside this, she planned fundraisers for charities such as Cancer Research and Mind, the Mental Health Charity.
