Philiphaugh Manor

My mother was transferred from another care home where the owner there couldn't handle her 'lively' nature and found her too much 'trouble', but I must say that since she has been at Philiphaugh Manor I cannot praise the staff there enough. She enjoys her time there and she also cannot say enough about them. They are always pleasant courteous and we are always kept informed of their intentions before any important actions are carried out. I would highly recommend Philiphaugh and their staff to any potential families that are considering placing their relatives there on a permanent basis or for respite. Well done Philiphaugh.

After mum being here for temporary care, she is very happy and hopes to stay on a permanent package. The care is great, staff wonderful, very good food. She has all she requires and is very happy.

My husband went into this home for four nights respite care whilst I had a much-needed break. Unfortunately, he had a urine infection which the person in charge did not detect or do anything about. He got very confused and when I came to collect him I was made aware by one particular 'carer' that she found him to be too much trouble. All in all a very unpleasant experience!

There were no bathing facilities for 5 months but these were resolved following an email to the director. Laundry facilities are adequate but any white pants/vests soon became pink!! I now wash my mother's skirts and cardigans as would be spoilt! Issues over hairdressing facilities, now have hair salon but water pressure poor so awaiting new pressurised hot water system. Care home would benefit from the care home manager coming out of the office and working with carers, sometimes unaware of what is happening.

Any establishment is only as good as the staff, at Philiphaugh Manor they excel in every aspect of care given to my mother-in-law. They all perform at times, extremely upsetting duties, with great patience and understanding. In our view, they cannot be bettered and are greatly appreciated.

I am kept informed of any issues and there is always someone on hand should I need any advice. Thank you.

All staff are helpful and caring. I don't have any concerns over mums care.

A very close friend of mine has been a resident at Philiphaugh for a year now. I have been very impressed by the care she has received. Lately, she has not been well and both the staff and those who manage the home could not have been more attentive to her condition and her needs. I've also been grateful for their readiness to listen to my concerns and suggestions during this time.

My aunt receives the very best care and attention, her hygiene, meals and medical prescriptions are attended to without fail.

Her room is lovely with en-suite. Activities are plentiful.

She is always treated with dignity and politeness.

On our regular visits we are always treated well and staff and management are always welcoming.

All staff members 9management and carers) are pleasant, helpful and friendly carers, showing consideration to Mum's needs, including personal care ii.e., hair wash, bath etc. Her room is spacious and clean, as are all common used areas. Food provided is nutritious and meet dietary requirements. All visitors, family and friends are always welcomed.

Overall very happy with my mum respiting there they cannot do enough for her. Thank you so much mum very happy.

My mother went to Phliphaugh after been in the hospital for four weeks and was rather traumatised after her stay there. After a couple of weeks, she was back to her normal self.

My mother has been in there 16 weeks and now is looking better than ever. So thanks to the staff for all the care she has received.

I would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful way they looked after my Father. They are very caring and compassionate. The home is more like a lovely hotel rather than a home. It has changed my outlook on homes. If I ever have to go into a home I sincerely hope it is like Philipaugh Manor. I cannot praise this home enough, from the facilities and staff 10 out of 10.

Sadly Mum passed away on November 7th. I knew that the staff were caring and kind, but in her last 2 days of life, I witnessed their extraordinary care and attention, not just to Mum but also to me, for which I am so grateful.

We will always remember your kindness to Mum and a 'thank you' seems inadequate, but it comes from our hearts and with our love and gratitude.

My mother moved in December 2016. Since we have found she is a lot better and happy. I am sure it is down to the care at Philiphaugh, the staff are fantastic in looking after her needs (though she can be stubborn). Three good meals a day, warm and comfortable

Excellent home, never any problems, although my father now needs a nursing home, they are doing their best to try and meet his needs.

Philiphaugh Manor has continually provided a comfortable home for mum. She is happy there and we are confident that she is getting good care. All the carers are very friendly and professional.

She has a lovely bedroom but likes to spend most of her time downstairs because she enjoys the company.

On our arrival, we are always greeted by pleasant and happy staff. The house always seems to be a very happy place.

Mum has been in Philiphaugh Manor for just over two months. Something she never wanted but was inevitable after the decline in her health. Since the start of her stay, she has been treated by all the staff with honesty, dignity and respect. She has a large, light room and I was encouraged to personalise this as much as I wanted enabling Mum to be surrounded by familiar items. She has a favourite chair, throws, family pictures and ornaments. All the regular meals are well prepared and a good choice is offered and mum never goes hungry - quite the opposite! I visit at all different times and I'm always made very welcome.
