My Dad had been a resident here at The Court coming up to a year and I am eternally grateful to all the staff here .
My Dad is a very private man , not a mixer at all and as such his privacy is respected .
Dad is in the early stages of dementia and ive had advice on how to deal with this and accept
the situation .
His care is my priority and I feel as a family we have made the right decision for him . All the staff have welcoming from day one and caring and we thank them all.

My parent has been helped to settle and the staff have sorted out doctor, glasses and other issues. The staff seem friendly and caring and, importantly for dementia sufferers, there are plenty of activities, crafts, singing and others.

My Nan had been a resident at The Court for over a year, the whole team has been amazing. They gave her such good care and companionship, took her out so she could go to church, got her involved in all activities and kept her spirits up. Nan was very happy during the time she stayed there and that's
all down to the manager and her team, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were more than helpful to me and my family as well. It's a lovely home with beautiful grounds and I would recommend them to anyone.

My uncle has been at The Court for around 2 years now, whenever I visit he appears content and happy. He always tells me how lovely the staff are, and that he enjoys his food. The staff are always welcoming when I visit and I always see the manager and deputy manager around the home which is very reassuring.

My grandfather joined The Court in December at the age of 95. This was a very big move for him, leaving his bungalow behind. We were all very daunted and apprehensive of how this new way of life would work out. His room was lovely, the whole home was warm and welcoming. The Court Manager, Deputy and
all staff made my grandad feel right at home and he settled in much quicker than any of us imagined. Sadly Grandad passed away in March but the care and support we were all given during those 4 months was second to none, we couldn't have wished for a better place for him to have spent his final months. Grandad was happy, settled and had company. Staff always gave their time to listen to his stories, which he loved to share and were always very patient with him, even when his patience ran out! His independence was always encouraged and wishes were always met. During his final week the staff were extremely supportive to us making a very difficult time, a little less difficult.
Reply from Kara Marshall, Manager at The Court Retirement ResidenceThank you for such a wonderful review. We know moves to care homes can be very overwhelming for families as well as residents, and we are very pleased you all felt so supported, especially in those final weeks and days. We pride ourselves on treating all individuals as part of The Court family, it's very comforting to know this hasn't gone unnoticed, thank you!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.808)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.808) out of 10 for The Court Retirement Residence is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.933 for The Court Retirement Residence is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 178 Ratings = 4.933
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Court Retirement Residence is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
