Mother has been happily settled at Hillbrow House for a couple of years now. It never ceases to amaze me how caring and patient the staff are no matter what day of the week I phone. Of course, recently the pressure has been enormous on all the staff and management with all the extra COVID precautions. Then on top of that, they have to contend with some of the elderly residents being confused about all the new procedures. By no way an easy task I am sure. However, I am sure that Mother is in excellent hands receiving the best of care, which gives us such peace of mind. The standard of care and attention has not waived at all through this difficult period, and I would thoroughly recommend Hillbrow House to anyone trying to find a happy caring place for a loved one to reside. Above all, I wish to say a huge thank you to the management and staff for their dedication.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I will pass it on to the team. Knowing that their hard work and dedication is recognised means a lot to them.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing seems to be to much trouble. Fathers health and wellbeing have improved considerably since moving into Hillbrow.
Have complete confidence in all aspects of care for residents.
Hillbrow is a warm and welcoming residential home. Staff are approachable and always happy to help. The activities planned for residents are excellent, and they are always very varied. The food is brilliant and they accommodate dietary needs really well. I feel happy and secure in the knowledge that my mum is being well cared for in a safe and homely environment.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always very encouraging to the team to have such great feedback.
My Mother recently moved to Hillbrow House having lived on her own for a number of years. She has since regained her 'joie de vivre' and a healthy amount of weight thanks to the excellent care she's receiving. This establishment is family owned and run, with the team being very courteous and approachable - they clearly enjoy what they do There's an atmosphere of quiet efficiency but a chuckle and a joke are never far away. The range of activities offered to residents is really inspiring and something that my Mother has certainly benefitted from. Perhaps,, most importantly, the place is kept clean with an absence of stale odours which I noticed when looking at other homes before a decision was made. First impressions make a huge difference.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We pride ourselves on the care we deliver to all of our residents and it is always great to hear such fantastic praise for the team. It's great to see that your mother has settled in so well.
Lovely caring staff who support people to be as independent as possible. There is a great atmosphere, with lots of activities if people want to do them. Food is good, people are encouraged to eat and drink well either in the dining room or in their room.
Thank you Sinead for your lovely comments about the home and staff. It is always great for the staff to have feedback. It makes us very proud and happy that you are so pleased with the service that we provide. Many thanks.
My mother went into Hillbrow after a stay in hospital and going home with very little support, so after a very hard decision, I decided it was safer and better for her to go into residential care. The move in was pain-free. The room was fresh and bright she was able to take her own things (where possible).
Hillbrow is clean and welcoming, they are always helpful if there is a problem. There is an activities programme and Friday afternoons are movies which my mum loves! The care is excellent, the staff all very friendly.
Karen, thank you so much for your kind words, they really reflect everyone's hard work and dedication to our residents.
There are a variety of activities and entertainments available to her that she enjoys.
We too are invited to join in for various social gatherings during the year, for example, barbeques and cream teas.
Whenever we visit we are made to feel very welcome and my Aunt is always bright and cheerful.
Dear Helen, thank you for such a lovely review of our home and team. We pride ourselves on the care we deliver to all of our residents and it is always great to hear such fantastic praise for the team.
I had always dreaded ending my days in a 'Care Home' but I have reached an age when I need looking after. I have never regretted coming here and feel it is now my home. I am never lonely, we have outings too. The Management are very caring and helpful, the staff are well trained, kind and friendly. The rooms are bright and cheerful and kept clean and tidy. My laundry is collected daily and returned promptly. We have an 'activity' lady who is great, chatting easily to one or doing crosswords flower arranging, arts and crafts. We have our own residents garden where we can grow flowers.
This is a lovely tribute to our staff and we thank this lady for it. She has really "come alive" since her arrival and is a wonderful member of the community.
She was stone deaf and not agile, which difficulties the management and staff provided for both with cheerfulness and real care.
During her entire time at Hillbrow, I never heard her worry about a thing, except that she would have to leave the Home, which of course I and the staff assured her would not happen!
To the last day of her life she was cared for as if she was a member of the family.
A warm, friendly and inviting care home. Nothing is too much trouble for the management and caring team. The home itself is clean, cosy and of a certain style which is comforting to the elderly. The residents are spoilt by the wonderful kitchen staff, often catering to the residents own preference! The quality and quantity of food is very good. There are various activities during the week to entertain the residents. The garden and grounds are well kept and the residents are encouraged to 'muck in'. Al the staff are a credit to this special care home and I would highly recommend it!
First time in a care home- a bit concerned. Warm welcome and friendly staff who talked to me- put me at ease from beginning. As weeks continued my first impressions were confirmed- it was a lovely place to stay with nothing too much trouble. I could choose to eat in my room or the dining room and could spend time in my room, the common room, the garden room or the garden. The friendly relaxed, caring attitude was shown by the staff without exception, the manager and owners who were always around the home. The accommodation is good and comfortable but I am sure it is not the biggest, newest and fanciest home but it will be very hard to find a home that makes it's residents feel as cared for and well looked after as Hillbrow House does. No marking for activities as I chose not to be involved.
My neighbour and friend has been a resident at Hillbrow for 11 and a half years. For all of that time I have visited her 2/3 times a week. Throughout the entire period, all of the staff have been very courteous, kind and tolerant. The care for my neighbour has been of a high standard as is the home itself. The owner ensures that all visitors and family members are made welcome at all times and encourages participation in any of the home events laid on for residents.
Her sudden passing was a shock for all of us and she will be missed.
My aunt has recently moved into Hillbrow. The Managers and the team couldn't have been more helpful. She needed some extra support during the move and they went that extra mile to make her feel at home. A true example of genuine person centred care. Many thanks.
