The standard of care and support is excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Very caring staff and manager.
Recognising that she was in the early stages of dementia my mother chose to give up living alone in her bungalow. The Red House has been the perfect solution for my mother's needs. The en-suite room is ideal for making her feel comfortable. Even before lockdown, it was very clear that everything about the Red House particularly the staff is dedicated to putting the resident's needs and requirements first. It is always a joy to visit my mother as I' always made very welcome and it is clear that my mother is contented.
My father and I have had to meet outdoors on the last few occasions due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We were still made to feel comfortable and the staff were on hand if we needed anything. I have nothing but praise for the way the home manager reacted to the Covid-19 outbreak. Her swift and decisive action has ensured the home has stayed Covid-19 safe.
A lovely peaceful care home with very happy residents. The manager and staff are so professional and caring. They have gone beyond during this period of isolation to ensure all the residents are kept motivated and entertained. My mother says she felt at home here from her very first day.
I asked my grandfather how he felt there, and he said he was very happy with the care, and that he was fed well! They go out of their way to make them feel special on birthdays and occasions too.
He also spoke of the lovely views which can be enjoyed. I would recommend it to others as I have only ever heard good things about it.
My dear Mum has been at The Red House for a couple of years, and it is the only place where she has settled, felt safe and well cared for, and Mum tried several other homes but never settled. It is a small residential home that feels like a normal home. I don’t live locally, so it is so reassuring to know that Mum is well cared for and the manager is so kind and approachable. She was able to work Mum out from the outset, which is why Mum is getting the care that works for her, which is such a huge relief. The staff work extremely hard to make the experience of the residents a happy one.
My dad was at another care home before this, which was terrible, so we looked at Red House; it was perfect. Very friendly and welcoming, the staff are lovely, and I truly believe my dad would not be around now, if not for the care and support he gets from everyone at Red House. He is extremely comfortable and well looked after. I would not hesitate in recommending Red House to anyone.
Good range of entertainment and activities provided. Friendly and approachable staff who have provided amazing care during the Covid-19 crisis. My grandmother can have some challenging behaviour at times and they always seem to manager her with patience and care.
I can't praise the staff enough for the tremendously hard work they put in for the care of the residents at The Red House, they provide excellent activities to help stimulate the residents and go above and beyond to keep the residents entertained. I know it's been a difficult time for all with the Coronavirus, but they have kept everyone safe and well and their system for allowing visitors outside with 2 metres distancing to see the residents has been fantastic, which I am sure they have all needed. Can't praise the staff enough for their care and attention.
Service User over a period of two years. Very satisfied with service indeed. Excellent manager and staff. Well run by owners.
I'm a highly protective daughter, delighted with the Red House who take great care of my Mum. They're thoughtful, gentle, considerate and kind. Humour abounds! The Red House isn't like a retirement home but a family home - all welcomed/cared for in relation to their needs. Even me! When I first visited I noted the absence of malodorous challenges which can abound in care homes. The cleaners are great - keeping it smelling fresh. That really matters to family. Whatever they do, staff take their care role seriously: the lovely cleaners, amazing chefs, able handyman/gardener and the wonderful carers and activities staff - all fab, thoughtful, giving and caring. I can't thank them enough. It's largely down to the professional manager who's to be credited for what happens there. Thank you all. I can't comment about night-time security because I'm not there but am aware of the staff's attitude to safety and security so am reassured my Mum's in a safe and secure environment.
The atmosphere is relaxed and there is a feeling of space.
Residents are treated with respect and are always free to choose what they want to do.
The food is excellent.
Staff are caring, kind and give the impression that nothing is too much trouble.
I would class myself as an over protective relative but have no hesitation in recommending Red House Care Home.
Residents enjoy lovely home cooking, innovative activities and trips.
Staff are approachable, caring and flexible. The manager is truly wonderful.
My Mother spent nearly 3 happy years at the Red House. At all times she was treated with care and compassion. The staff are wonderful and do their best to encourage residents involvement in the home's many activities. My mother needed a lot of support following a stroke and I cannot fault the care she was shown. The staff were always friendly and welcoming to visitors, nothing was too much trouble. And finally when she died they showed extraordinary kindness and understanding to me.

Sarah has over 11 years of experience in the care sector, having developed a strong passion for supporting others through both her professional and personal life. Her care journey began while looking after her mother and grandfather at home, where she discovered a natural ability and deep commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Promoted to Registered Manager in October 2023, Sarah has continued to grow as a compassionate and dedicated leader, always putting the well-being of residents at the centre of everything she does.
She finds great satisfaction in seeing the happiness and comfort that quality care brings to residents, describing her work as a way of giving back to older generations. Sarah believes what makes The Red House truly special is its close-knit, family atmosphere, where residents and staff share a positive energy and a genuine sense of community.

Lauren has worked in the care sector for over 11 years, beginning her career at 19, working with people with learning disabilities. From the very start, she developed a strong passion for supporting individuals to live fulfilling lives and improving their overall quality of life.
Promoted to Deputy Manager in October last year, Lauren brings experience, compassion, and dedication to her role. She is committed to ensuring residents feel comfortable, respected, and well supported, while also helping to create a positive environment for the team.
Lauren is passionate about caring for people and finds real fulfilment in helping residents feel happy, comfortable, and valued in their daily lives.
She describes The Red House as having a strong family feel and a true “home away from home” atmosphere. The home is warm, cosy, and comfortable, with a relaxed, non-clinical environment that helps residents feel at ease. Lauren feels this sense of togetherness is what makes The Red House such a special place to live and work.

Helen joined The Red House in June 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience across both care and activities. Although she is a qualified Registered Manager, Helen has spent the last few years focusing on activities where her passion truly lies.
With a strong background in care, Helen has developed a deep understanding of how meaningful activities can enhance well-being, confidence, and everyday happiness. She is dedicated to creating engaging, person-centred experiences that reflect the interests and abilities of each resident.
Helen finds great joy in seeing the positive impact activities have on residents, especially the smiles, laughter, and sense of connection they bring. For her, it is incredibly rewarding to help create moments that brighten people’s day and encourage friendships within the home.
Activities include live singers, animal visits, quizzes, games, crafts, and gentle exercise sessions, all designed to support enjoyment, stimulation, and well-being. These are regularly shared on our private Facebook page so that family and friends can stay connected and see what their loved ones have been enjoying.
