The Rock Care Home is a registered Care Home for adults over 65 years old with accommodation for up to 14 people who require residential and dementia care.

The home has been decorated to a high standard throughout. Each bedroom is individually decorated, many rooms can be changed into shared rooms if needed. The Lounge and Dining Room are located on the ground floor, providing areas of relaxation and an area to enjoy home-cooked meals.

The Rock and is situated on the edge of the town of Buckfastleigh.

I have already shared how The Rock was an incredible find for my Dad and his wife. They felt they were in a lovely little hotel, with nothing too much trouble for the amazing owners and happy team. Dad adored the peace and quiet, the size of the place, the brilliant food and the giggles with the carers
- his second family. He was completely happy there.
Visiting medical professionals often said that it is the best Carehome in the area and that it will be their choice when they need care themselves. That says it all for me!
Sadly, two years after he arrived, Dad was rushed into hospital to discover that he was at the end of his life. He was desperate to get home to The Rock to die and was thankfully welcomed back without hesitation. He was gently looked after to the end, with patience, dignity and humour. I was able to be with him throughout and will never forget the kindness and warmth to the manager and two other staff members in particular and the team showed us all. Thank you so much to the beautiful people at The Rock.

My mum was well looked after by the team at The Rock for over 2 years. The stars are the wonderful staff, who are so caring and thoughtful. There is low staff turnover, which works so well with the elderly, and the owners two staff members in particular are always available for any concerns. Mum loved
the food, which is home made & traditional.

The staff here are all very kind and caring, they strive to be as helpful as they can something that my family really appreciate as we live some distance away. Whenever I have asked for some help they have been most obliging and I can't thank everyone there enough for this. I know my father appreciates

My aunts came to the Rock together as they’d been all their lives sharing a home since birth, they were kept together here from 2017 until 2018 when one of my aunts passed away and the other is still in the Rock receiving the very best of care possible. All staff and management are so kind and caring
and really get to know each resident to such an extent they have become family to both my aunts for which we are so grateful as they have needed and still do that intricate care delivered to them with fondness. Thank you to all of you.

My father (96) has now been at The Rock for a year and previously my father-in-law had also been a resident there.
Every aspect of my father's care is catered for, even if he sometimes does not appreciate that, but no change there in his character. The staff are always helpful and give care and understanding.
The home is just that, a home rather than an institution as some large care homes seem to be. The small number of residents gives a genuine feeling of being at home I could not want anything more for him. So I would recommend The Rock to anyone looking for a safe and pleasant place for a loved one to live.

What a lovely care home. Beautifully decorated, scrupulously clean, and staffed with experienced, caring, and dedicated people who always have time for the people in their care and their families. Although not a topic any of us likes to dwell on too long, I must tell everyone how compassionate, devoted,
and dedicated the managers and all The Rock staff were in the final stages of my mother's life. She was a resident at The Rock from January 2022 until she died, in her room at The Rock, in September 2023, surrounded with kind and caring staff who had become her dear and loving friends. She was 98 years old. She loved every minute of her time there. Towards the end of her stay, even when her health deteriorated significantly, requiring the provision of care around the clock, every effort was made to make my mother feel comfortable, protected, and loved. I can't recommend this care home more highly.

I love it here, the staff are very helpful for my needs, nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is all homemade. It is very warm and welcoming. We have an activities afternoon. Plus a sing-song afternoon as well.

Absolutely fabulous home, with the best staff team. Super carers might be the best way to describe them.
Good food, friendly and nice atmosphere, unlike so many other homes I have visited in my personal and professional career, as Head of Commissioning for local government and the NHS.

A lovely care home with spacious and clean rooms, wonderful staff and a happy and caring atmosphere.
My mother in her mid-nineties has been here for a while and the staff are attentive, polite and gentle. She is well looked after and they keep us children informed of her progress, food consumption
and general well-being.
The management and staff are always welcoming and accommodating with visits at short notice and always take time to discuss my mother's condition.

When we were called for Mum because she was so poorly, the home carried out our family's wishes by not having her put in hospital. Find all the team very professional caring and friendly. Always keeps us informed of any concerns they have for Mum and will answer our questions. Mum needs care and I know
that she is receiving the best care from all the staff.

The home is always clean and tidy and is nicely decorated throughout. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional and I feel my mum has a good relationship with them all. They do their best for my mum.

All aspects of my aunt's care are excellent. The staff are always welcoming when I visit and I am kept up to date with my aunt's health and other needs. Staff are very professional and very responsive to caring for people with dementia. I can thoroughly recommend this home.

Due to Covid restrictions, I did not see very much of my aunt for the last couple of years but the staff were very good at keeping me fully informed about her wellbeing and included me in all decisions regarding her health care.
I have always found the home to be well managed and the residents receive
personal interaction and care from all the staff.

My mum was placed at The Rock Care Home for rehabilitation after a stroke. We could not have wished for a better place, all the staff were very friendly. The home itself was very clean we could not fault it in anyway.

Oh my god, this home is amazing from the first time we stepped in.
Lovely staff nothing is too much trouble.
If you are looking at these reviews because you need to use this service to make a choice for your loved ones please don’t look at anymore. This is the place to put them and got you to have
the peace of mind for and excellent care from The Rock. Oh, and ask to see the food menu! You will want to move in yourself
My family are so proud that Mum had quality time here it was like home from home.

The Rock is a lovely care home. Always clean, warm and friendly. The residents are always well dressed, clean and neatly turned out and very well attended to. Any health issues are dealt with immediately.
The meals are homemade and always smell and look delicious.
It is very homely at The Rock, as
it is a small home only accommodating 11/12 residents.
The staff are always friendly and helpful.
I feel extremely happy with the level of care that my mum receives here. I am so pleased that I have such a lovely care home on my doorstep.

The Rock is a fantastic facility. Staff are fabulous nothing too much trouble for them.
Highly recommend The Rock if you need nursing care or respite care. Food is all home-cooked, home from home so homely at The Rock.
