Treelands has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.639) out of 10, based on 22 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Treelands has 30 reviews.
I cannot praise the staff more than at the end of my uncles life. He was in Treelands for approximately 7months during that time very member of staff went above and beyond to care for him. The last 72 hours of his life was treated with love and dignity. I would definitely recommend the home.
Thank you Marie for taking the time to leave a review at this sad time. Your Uncle was a local legend and was loved and respected by all of us here at Treelands. Thank you for putting your trust in us for his end of life care.
I looked at a number of care homes before settling on Treelands. Many of them tell you what you want to hear in the beginning, but in practice it's a very different experience, as was the situation for Dad at his previous care home.
At Treelands, what they tell you they will do is exactly what they will put into practice. The ethos is residents care and comfort comes first and they are always treated with kindness, compassion and respect.
I have met most of the staff from the owner down, and am comforted by how much they actually really do care.
It has been a very reassuring experience in what can be the most difficult and traumatic time in our lives. So I would like to wholeheartedly thank the team for their care and ongoing support.
Thank you Debbie for taking the time to leave such a kind review, Our staff will be delighted you and your Dad are having the best possible experience with us. Take care.
My mother had dementia (Alzheimer's) and so was not always easy or receptive to support from the carers. Yet, the care, kindness and standard of professional support was outstanding. My mum loved the countryside and so the setting was perfect for her. Both the management and care team were very helpful, compassionate and supportive of me, and especially when my mum's health rapidly deteriorated. If there is such a thing as a 'good death' my mum had it with the help of the team at Treelands. My heartfelt thanks to all of the staff - you are rare and so very much appreciated. Philippa.
It was a privilege for us to care for your mum and support you during such a difficult time. We're so pleased that Treelands and our countryside...
Dad resides in the atrium portion of Treelands. He is content and enjoys the opportunity to go outside in his wheel chair during the summer. During his stay there his condition has degraded so he can no longer get out of his wheelchair unassisted. The owner has modified his on-suite to allow him to get his wheel chair and lift apparatus as close to the toilet as possible. This was above expectations. Dad has been in the hospital a few times while residing at Treelands. The doctors at the hospital tell me he is at the end of life and they do not want him back. However, the Treelands team never give up. This was evidenced during December 2025 when the hospital sent him home on Oxygen. By February he had recovered and no longer needs to have Oxygen and is back to his old self. The ownership and management at Treelands have a high standard of care and when they see something is not right get it sorted. This is evidenced by the owner who is often doing rounds on weekends.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. As an independent, family-owned home, your kind words mean a great deal to us all. Your Dad is a much-loved and valued member of our Treelands community, and we're so pleased to see him doing well.
Used this care home for respite for my great aunt, she's very particular about her routine and I can't thank the team here enough. They made everything super easy and she absolutely loved the people looking after her.
Very clean, lovely activities and really personal experience, couldn't recommend enough - thank you!
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We're so pleased to hear that the respite stay was a positive and reassuring experience and that your great aunt felt comfortable with her routine and the team. Your comments are greatly appreciated and will be shared now with our lovely team.
My Nan came into Treelands early December as she was struggling at home and had a fall. Nan has always been a very independent lady and always said she never wanted to go into a home. Initially we booked two weeks respite for her to be able to recover with 24/7 care which she agreed to. Nan is now refusing to leave! She is a lot better, has made new friends, says the food is as good as a hotel and the staff are wonderful and so kind to her! She also kept mentioning a man called "Tony" who is very kind to her and he is the Gardner. We have since found out that "Tony" is actually the owner of treelands and comes in 7 days a week to see everyone and make sure they are ok! We were gobsmacked to say the least! Treelands is a family run business and the owners and staff have done nothing but made my nan feel totally at home, safe and relaxed. Nan has now chosen to become a permanent resident as she is so happy there. Treelands we cannot thank you enough! 5 stars well deserved!
Thank you Paige for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, it means a lot to us. We are lucky to have an amazing team behind us and I'm sure this review will put a big smile on their faces! Wishing your Nan a long and happy stay here at Treelands.
Determining the right care placement for a relative is extremely daunting. It's imperative that your loved one is in a caring and supportive environment. As a family we have found Treelands to have been the best possible decision we could have made for our mum. They totally understand mums specific needs and quickly respond to any new situation, informing / updating us immediately. Her room and communal spaces are clean and well kept. Meals are varied and appealing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I have passed your kind words on to our team.
Having viewed four other care homes locally and been disappointed with the lack of provision of double rooms for my parents, who have been married for 76 years, we were delighted to discover Treelands. Mum and Dad have settled very happily into their double room and were delighted to also be offered a lounge overlooking beautiful Devon farmland. All staff are welcoming, very friendly and treat residents with respect and dignity. Mum and Dad enjoy the home-cooked meals and taking part in the daily activities. We feel so confident that this is the perfect place for them to be. Many thanks to everyone at Treelands.
Thank you so much for your kind words and I will ensure that I pass this onto my team. I am so pleased your Mum and Dad has settled in so well at Treelands.
I am very happy here.

Thank you for your review, I will pass your kind words on to the team. you are an absolute pleasure to support.
Due to her failing health Mum needs more help now and she is treated with respect and dignity.
The team at Treelands are friendly and supportive to Mum and to us. They keep us informed if Mum has any health issues and when we visit we feel like members of the Treelands family.
Nothing is perfect but on the very rare occasions we've had any concerns or have been unsure about anything, the home manager and her team have been more than happy to listen, clarify things and take on board any comments we have.
I am happy that Mum is safe, well cared for and as happy as she can be with her health issues and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Treelands.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a heartfelt review, this really does mean the world to all of us.
Treelands is a very friendly environment for my grandmother with dementia, the staff go above and beyond to cater for her very particular needs. I know she is in safe hands for however long she has left with us. The staff lovely and very helpful with anything she could possibly need or want and the environment is peaceful. Thank you all at Treelands for making it easier on us as a family, as many know dementia isn't easy to live with.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, it means a lot to us all.
I am very happy here, and looked after very well.
Thank you for your kind words, you are an absolute pleasure to support. I will pass your kind words on to the team.
Treelands as with all care homes is a welcoming home, and to begin with we were glad to get Dad into care. Sadly the level of care is not where it should be, I should point out my father is an 89 year old man who has dementia and diabetes, he is partially double incontinent, as such his care needs are fairly significant. Despite treelands being aware of his care needs, he was left very much to get on with it, as a result his personal hygiene nose dived, it took multiple telephone calls and f2f discussions to get my Dad on the "Bath roster" notwithstanding the fact there are no showers in the main residence, new residents are not automatically added to the schedule amazes me. Physical security is a great worry, on numerous occasions my frail 89 year Dad with advanced dementia was found outside in the car park. In the 6 weeks Dad was at Treelands, so many times we were told Dad had fallen, sorry but care appears to be reactive only. This home needs to review its onboarding process.
I am so very sorry to hear that you feel your dads experience was lacking whilst he was a Treelands. As a company we are transparent with our care and complaints and therefore would appreciate it if you would come in to a meeting with myself and my investigations manager to discuss this further. We take every concern seriously, if notified and fully investigate all complaints.
Mother has been very happy and well looked after here. She has not always taken advantage of all of the facilities offered but the staff have tried very hard to do their best to keep her happy and amused as well as well looked after physically.
Thank you so much for the kind words and I will pass this onto my team.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words and I will ensure that I pass this onto my team. I am so pleased your Mum has settled in so well at Treelands.
The attention to the care needed is excellent. All staff and management have taken the time to bond and understand my Dad's needs and I feel safe knowing that he is being looked after well.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I will pass this onto my team. We are so glad Dad has settled in well at Treelands and is part of the 'Treelands Family'.
Thank you to all the staff at Treelands for looking after Mum. She was with you for a short time only but she enjoyed being there. Thank you also for your support when Mum sadly passed away, it was very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Even though your mum was only with us a short time, she was very much part of our Treelands family. I am so glad we could support you and help you through at a difficult time.
Room cleaning could be better.
Management are very good and the secretary is very good, always helpful. Having ward rounds are great.
Thank you for the feedback, Treelands always likes to use any concerns as a way to improve its services. We have been suffering with long term absence from the housekeeping team but we are hopeful this will improve in the new year. Please feel free to contact the management team who have an open...

Meet the Team (5)

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. My parents, Ives and Tony Jordan, built Treelands in 1990, along with my sister Jordanna. This was our family home before we opened as a care home in 1992. This coincided with me leaving school, so I worked as a care assistant here from age 16 while taking my A levels at Exeter College. I then completed my NVQ level 2 in Direct care before moving away from London to attend the London College of Fashion. In 1997, I moved back home to Exeter with my boyfriend Patrick and became Assistant Manager at Treelands. Moving to the present day, I'm now the Nominated Individual and Finance Director, and my husband is the business support manager; we have three children together.

I have been involved with Treelands since my teenage years, after growing up in the family business. I know every inch of Treelands, and you can often find me here. These days, I am the Operations Director, but you can still occasionally find me working the floor with our team. I have a grown-up daughter and two granddaughters who visit Treelands frequently. We are still the same family-run business we have always been, just bigger!

We are Ives and Tony Jordan. Back in 1989, we built Treelands as our private home, and in 1992, we opened it as a residential care home for the elderly. Our children grew up and lived with our first residents here; we really were an extended family. Tony is a builder by trade, and Treelands has been extended many times over the 33 years as we expanded our business. In 2022, we opened Treelands Atrium in the grounds of the main house. We jokingly call Tony's lockdown project! At heart, we are still very proud to be the same family-run business we were and always hope to be.

I have worked in the social care industry since I was 15, when my Aunt brought a care home in Dartmouth. Since then, I have worked my way up from a care assistant and in most areas of care, including mental health, military and learning disability. I was previously a registered manager and have worked with homes that have struggled as a crisis manager, which has given me a good insight into some of the problems the industry faces. I made a decision a couple of years ago to come out of senior management for more time with my four children and grandchildren, and am at Treelands as the Human Resource manager, supporting the management team and staff to give the best experience for your loved ones. I look forward to meeting you.

I have worked in care for 20+ years, starting at the age of 13 when I cared for my Dad after he had an accident that left him tetraplegic and reliant on carers, myself and my Mum. That experience shaped my lifelong passion for supporting others. I went on to spend over a decade in domiciliary care whilst still looking after my Dad as well. I then had my children and took some time out to raise them. Three years ago, I returned to the care sector as a senior having gained my level 3 diploma in care.
I was thrilled to be offered the role of Care Lead here at Treelands. I’ve now started working towards my Level 5 Diploma with plans to progress to Level 7 in the future.
Please feel free to contact me at any time- I’m more than happy to be a point of call for you and your loved one. I look forward to getting to know each of you and continuing to make Treelands a warm, safe and supportive home for everyone.
