Shire House

I find the overall experience at the care home very positive. The residence all have differing abilities and challenges. The staff do their best to cope with these in a compassionate and caring manner. My mum gets the care and attention we as a family were struggling to give her.

Shire House is a wonderful residential care home. My aunt is always looked after superbly, with dignity, friendliness, humour and expert care. I have access to her whenever I want, and she seems genuinely happy and peaceful and healthy there. It is value for money. The staff are always available to talk to me and respect my wishes. I recommend this care home wholeheartedly.

Very friendly and understanding staff, who always respond very quickly to any request for advice or practical assistance. Good wholesome meals. Plenty of creative activities to stimulate my parents and engage them with other residents and the staff. The staff have really helped my parents to settle into Shire House after quite a difficult time coming to terms with having to leave their own home.

The staff are very attentive and extremely accommodating when we visit. The house is always clean and the residents are really well looked after. I can tell they take pride in ensuring the residents' well-being as often we visit unannounced and everytime my mother in law is always immaculately presented. They go above and beyond as they often include my father in law in the activites and ensure he is kept updated when he is unable to visit himself. I am very grateful to the staff. They truly are very hard working and they truly care

Shire House is not only a beautiful elegant house, it's a warm cosy home. Everyone who lives there looks so well and happy. My mother has been in Shire House for three months, her health and mobility has improved, she is more stimulated and interested in what's going on. The food is delicious and is not in short supply! It's very reassuring to know my mother is so well cared for. We feel very lucky.

I find Shire House very friendly place. The staff look after mum very well. The food is at a good standard, the odd time I have had lunch with mum. Overall there is a nice quiet ambience to Shire House.

Lovely pleasant staff who will do all they can to assist and tend to patients needs. Mums needs are quite unique and its been a learning curve for everyone along the way.

My father started at Shire House the last week of July 25. We have found the care home staff very helpful and caring they can't do enough for you. They are very polite respectful and do their very best for all residents, they try to make everyone part of the care home family. So lucky to have found Shire House.

The staff are friendly, professional and most importantly very caring. My Mum recently moved from a care home in Wiltshire where she was ignored, under-stimulated, and on twice the amount of co-codamol needed. In Wiltshire, she was left to be a vegetable and given no help with speech, etc. Here at Shire House, they all do their utmost to help and stimulate, my Mum is ferally happy!

I am very happy and feel well looked after and cared for, the staff are all very kind and helpful.

The care for my grandad is outstanding. The time and patience each member of staff takes every day to make sure he is clean, tidy and comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. They all greet you with a warm welcome and offer cups of tea and biscuits. The activities coordinator is always thinking of new fun ideas to keep everyone entertained. Hats off to the staff who put together their first summer garden party where all the family could attend and fun had by all.

My brother seems happy and content. It's comforting to know he is well taken care of.

I cannot fault the care my grandad receives at Shire House, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere and it certainly is a home away home. Shire House is always clean and tidy and there is always tea and biscuits. The staff are always more than happy to answer any questions you may have, nothing is ever too much trouble. The residents receive fun and fulfilling activities that always put a smile on their faces.

The surroundings and ambience are first class and the atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. The staff are efficient while being patient.

Shire House is a lovely, caring, friendly home. Always made to feel welcome. Excellent care is given to family member. Always laughter in the home. Great communication from all staff.
